To enhance the accuracy, an efficient methodology was developed and described for systematic geometric error correction and their compensation in five-axis machine tools. The methodology is capable of compensating the overall effect of all position-dependent and position-independent errors which contribute to volumetric workspace. It was implemented on a five-axis grinding machine for error compensation and for the check of its effectiveness. Error compensation algorithm was designed, and a routine was written in Matlab software. The developed technique and software are based on an error table which interprets the function of axis through cubic spline technique and synthesis modeling of a machine tool. Recursive compensation methodology was used to remove the machine errors from the actual tool path and inverse technique was implemented to find the corrected positions of prismatic and rotary joints. Moreover, it can convert the corrected tool paths into practical compensated NC codes. The generated, corrected and modified NC codes directly fed to the controller of a five-axis machine tool. Validation of the technique was preceded by repeated experimentation of measurement and through machining of typical standard workpieces with some additional specific features. Experimental results exhibit effective compensation and remarkable improvement in the parametric and volumetric-workspace accuracy of the five-axis machine tool.  相似文献

The effects of low-energy proton-induced degradation of photovoltaic properties and generation of deep-level defects in n+/p InGaP solar cells have been investigated. Energy-dependent effects included decreased solar cell efficiency and increase the carrier removal rate with decreasing proton energy. The spectral response depicts that the degradation is more at longer wavelengths with the increase of proton fluence. A new majority (hole) trap HP1 has been observed in low-energy proton irradiated p-InGaP at 0.90±0.05 eV above the valence band for the first time. The carrier removal rates were found to be 61433 and 8640 cm−1 for 100 and 380-keV proton irradiation, respectively.  相似文献

Utilization of wind energy in Bangladesh has been slow mainly due to lack of quality wind data. Recent measurements in some places have shown significant wind energy potentials in Bangladesh. In this paper, a wind map is presented which incorporates several microscale features, such as terrain roughness, elevation etc. with a mesoscale model. Several meso-maps were obtained from global databases and a suitable model was chosen and modified for a 30-m elevation. Ground data from various sources were collected and modified for height and land condition adjustments based on local knowledge and GIS information. It was found that, the generated wind map and the modified ground data resemble. Annual average wind speed at 30 m height along the coastal belt is above 5 m/s. Wind speed in northeastern parts is above 4.5 m/s while inland wind speed is around 3.5 m/s for most part of Bangladesh. Small-scale wind turbines could be installed and tested in locations such as St. Martins Island, Cox’s Bazar, Patenga, Bhola, Barguna, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagar.  相似文献

Better radiation resistance of InP-based solar cells such as InGaP and InGaAsP cells, and minority-carrier-injection-enhanced annealing phenomena of radiation-induced defects in those materials previously found by the authors has been analyzed by considering introduction rates and annealing behavior of radiation-induced defects in InP-related materials. Radiation resistance of InP-related materials is found to be explained by lower damage coefficients and band-gap energy effects on solar cell degradation compared to other materials.  相似文献

The structure and surface morphology of Ni-incorporated diamond like carbon (Ni:DLC) films have been investigated. These films were deposited on Si substrates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. A KrF Excimer laser (λ = 248 nm) was used for co-ablation from multi component Ni–graphite target. The concentration of Ni was varied by ablating the Ni part of the target with various numbers of laser pulses. The SEM and AFM analysis reveals that the surface is composed of segregates of Ni which increases with the increase in Ni content during the growth process. The structural investigations by XRD and Raman spectroscopy provided information about the orientation of the incorporated constituent and the ordering of the carbon species. Maximum height of the nano structures which were observed on the surface was ∼50 nm. The G-peak of the graphite was shifted towards higher wave number due to enhancement in SP2 sites which have been increased due to the increase in the Ni concentration. A small change in the surface roughness ranging from 7.78 nm to 13.1 nm due to increased Ni concentration was also observed.  相似文献

Nickel hydroxide nanosheets, nanobelts and nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal treatment of the precipitates obtained at different pH values. The morphology and crystal structure of the products could be controlled simply by adjusting the pH value at precipitation. Interconnected nanosheets of hexagonal β-Ni(OH)2 with thickness around 10–20 nm were formed at pH ∼ 11, whereas nanobelts with typical widths around 40–80 nm, and nanorods with diameters around 50–60 nm of phase pure α-Ni(OH)2 containing intercalated sulphate ions were obtained in the pH range ∼9.5–8.5. Thermal annealing of the hydroxides at 500 °C yielded cubic phase NiO with morphologies similar to their hydroxide precursors. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis were used to characterize the as-prepared products. The role of pH in controlling the phase and morphology of the products was discussed.  相似文献

Carbon nanotube addition has been shown to improve the mechanical properties of some polymers. Because of their unique adsorptive properties, carbon nanotubes may also improve the barrier performance of polymers used in contaminant containment. This study compares the barrier performance of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) membranes containing single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) to that for PVA containing powdered activated carbon (PAC). Raw and surface-functionalized versions of each sorbent were tested for their abilities to adsorb 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene and Cu(2+), representing the important hydrophobic organic and heavy metal contaminant classes, as they diffused across the PVA. In both cases, PAC (for 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene) and functionalized PAC (for Cu(2+)) outperformed SWCNTs on a per mass basis by trapping more of the contaminants within the barrier membrane. Kinetics of sorption are important in evaluating barrier properties, and poor performance of SWCNT-containing membranes as 1,2,4-TCB barriers is attributed to kinetic limitations.  相似文献

Effects of liquid swine manure on dissipation of 17β-estradiol in soil   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
17β-estradiol (E2), a natural estrogenic hormone, degrades within hours and bind strongly to soils and sediments; however, estrogens are frequently detected in the environment at concentrations that impact water quality. Colloidal (COC) and dissolved (DOC) organic carbon may enhance the persistence and mobility of E2. Soil batch experiments were used to identify the persistence and sorption of radiolabeled E2 dissolved in solutions of (i) COC/DOC derived from liquid swine manure and (ii) CaCl(2). Estradiol disappeared from the aqueous phase before 7 d in the CaCl(2) solution, yet persisted throughout the duration of the 14 d experiment in the liquid manure solution. There was also concomitant formation of estrone (E1; a metabolite of E2) as E2 dissipated in sterile batch experiments, which was attributed to abiotic oxidation. The liquid manure solution appeared to interact with the estrogen and/or oxidation reaction sites, reducing E2 degradation. Furthermore, the liquid manure solution reduced E2/E1 binding to the soil surface resulting in more E2/E1 in the aqueous layer compared to the CaCl(2) solution. Ultrafiltration results of liquid manure indicated that ~1/3 of E2 was associated with COC, which may be responsible for the reduced degradation and sorption of E2 in the liquid manure solution.  相似文献

The 2352 bp gene coding for 783 amino acid family B DNA polymerase from Pyrobaculum calidifontis was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli. Expression of the gene resulted in the production of Pca-Pol in soluble fraction. After heat denaturation of the host proteins, the Pca-Pol was further purified by ion exchange and hydrophobic interaction chromatographies. Activity gel analysis showed the presence of a catalytically active polypeptide of about 90 kDa. The mass of the protein, determined by Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization-Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry was found to be 89,156 Da. The isoelectric point of the enzyme was found to be 6.13. The optimal pH and magnesium ion concentration for the enzyme activity were 8.5 and 4mM, respectively. Unlike other commercially available DNA polymerases the enzyme activity of Pca-Pol was inhibited by monovalent cations such as ammonium and potassium. The half-life of the polymerase at 95 °C and 100 °C was 4.5h and 0.5h, respectively. The enzyme possessed 3'→5' exonuclease activity and was able to amplify, under suitable conditions, up to 7.5 kb DNA fragments by polymerase chain reaction which makes it a potential candidate for amplification of long DNA fragments.  相似文献

Biofilm-based systems, including integrated fixed-film activated sludge and moving bed bioreactors, are becoming increasingly popular for wastewater treatment, often with the goal of improving nitrification through the enrichment of ammonia and nitrite oxidizing bacteria. We have previously demonstrated the utility of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) as tools for studying the initial attachment of bacteria to substrata systematically varying in physicochemical properties. In this work, we expanded these studies to bacteria of importance in wastewater treatment systems and we demonstrated attachment rates were better correlated with surface energy than with wettability (water contact angle). Toward the long-term goal of improving wastewater treatment performance through the strategic design of attachment substrata, the attachment rates of two autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (Nitrosomonas europaea and Nitrosospira multiformis) and a heterotroph (Escherichia coli) were evaluated using SAMs with a range of wettabilities, surface energies, and functional properties (methyl, hydroxyl, carboxyl, trimethylamine, and amine terminated). Cell attachment rates were somewhat correlated with the water contact angles of the SAMs with polar terminal groups (hydroxyl, carboxyl, trimethylamine, and amine). Including all SAM surfaces, a better correlation was found for all bacteria between attachment rates and surface free energy, as determined using the Lewis Acid-Base approach. The ammonia-oxidizers had higher adhesion rates on the SAMs with higher surface energies than did the heterotroph. This work demonstrated the successful application of SAMs to determine the attachment surface preferences of bacteria important to wastewater treatment, and it provides guidance for a new area of research aimed at improving treatment performance through rational attachment surface design.  相似文献
