Stability analysis of the cascaded dc-dc power electronic system is analyzed in this paper. For demonstration boost converter supplying, the hybrid switched capacitor converter considered as an example. The boost converter is acting as the bus converter, 42 V bus, while the switched capacitor converter is serving as the point of load converter. The two converters are provided with voltage-mode and peak current-mode controllers, respectively. Converter state-space, two-port network models are developed and then stability of the cascaded system has been analyzed. Cascaded system interaction effects, (i) source converter power handling capability with switching load and (ii) load converter interfacing capability with bus converter, are analyzed. Interleaved dual boost converter is capable of extracting more amount of power from the photovoltaic source than the conventional boost converter. Power extraction capabilities of the conventional boost and interleaved dual boost converters from the photovoltaic array are verified through experimental studies. As an application the effectiveness of this interleaved dual boost converter for PV supplied separately excited DC motor is studied through simulation. Extensive studies are made by formulating the mathematical models for photovoltaic source, interleaved dual boost converter, DC motor and load. Steady-state performance of the motor coupled to centrifugal pump load is analyzed for maximum power, gross mechanical energy operations. From the simulation studies, it is found that the motor performance is improved with gross mechanical energy output operation as compared to maximum power operation of solar cell array. Furthermore, the use of interleaved dual boost converter reduces the ripple content both in the source and load waveforms, thus resulting in reduced filtering requirements and improved photovoltaic array performance.  相似文献

Power processing systems will be a key factor of future photovoltaic (PV) applications. They will play a central role in transferring, to the load and/or to the grid, the electric power produced by the high-efficiency PV cells of the next generation. In order to come up the expectations related to the use of solar energy for producing electrical energy, such systems must ensure high efficiency, modularity, and, particularly, high reliability. The goal of this paper is to provide an overview of the open problems related to PV power processing systems and to focus the attention of researchers and industries on present and future challenges in this field.  相似文献
