The generalized stability of families of real matrices and polynomials is considered. (Generalized stability is meant in the
usual sense of confinement of matrix eigenvalues or polynomial zeros to a prescribed domain in the complex plane, and includes
Hurwitz and Schur stability as special cases.) Guardian maps and semiguardian maps are introduced as a unifying tool for the
study of this problem. These are scalar maps which vanish when their matrix or polynomial argument loses stability. Such maps
are exhibited for a wide variety of cases of interest corresponding to generalized stability with respect to domains of the
complex plane. In the case of one- and two-parameter families of matrices or polynomials, concise necessary and sufficient
conditions for generalized stability are derived. For the general multiparameter case, the problem is transformed into one
of checking that a given map is nonzero for the allowed parameter values.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited by thermal evaporation of a high quality ZnO powder; the obtained films were then oxidized in the air. We have systematically investigated the influence of annealing temperature ranged from 100 to 400 °C on the films composition and structural and optical properties by using Rutherford Back Scattering (RBS) analysis, X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and UV-Visible transmission respectively. The as grown films exhibit a hexagonal single phase of Zn with no preferential orientation and contain 28% oxygen. With an increase in the annealing temperature the oxygen content is enhanced to the detriment of Zn; samples were totally oxidized at 300 °C and the films are converted to stoichiometric ZnO material. However, in situ XRD pattern analysis shows that the oxidation starts at 250 °C. From the XRD results of annealed Zn samples under an electrical field we inferred that the oxidation mechanism is achieved by the ionization of oxygen atom at the film surface and subsequently followed by the diffusion of the produced ions in the film network. 相似文献

Top‐Rank‐K Frequent Itemset (or Pattern) Mining (FPM) is an important data mining task, where user decides on the number of top frequency ranks of patterns (itemsets) they want to mine from a transactional dataset. This problem does not require the minimum support threshold parameter that is typically used in FPM problems. Rather, the algorithms solving the Top‐Rank‐K FPM problem are fed with , the number of frequency ranks of itemsets required, to compute the threshold internally. This paper presents two declarative approaches to tackle the Top‐Rank‐K Closed FPM problem. The first approach is Boolean Satisfiability‐based (SAT‐based) where we propose an effective encoding for the problem along with an efficient algorithm employing this encoding. The second approach is CP‐based, that is, utilizes Constraint Programming technique, where a simple CP model is exploited in an innovative manner to mine the Top‐Rank‐K Closed FPM itemsets from transactional datasets. Both approaches are evaluated experimentally against other declarative and imperative algorithms. The proposed SAT‐based approach significantly outperforms IM, another SAT‐based approach, and outperforms the proposed CP‐approach for sparse and moderate datasets, whereas the latter excels on dense datasets. An extensive study has been conducted to assess the proposed approaches in terms of their feasibility, performance factors, and practicality of use. 相似文献

Modelling and experimental studies on a mixed-mode natural convection solar crop-dryer 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1
A mathematical model for drying agricultural products in a mixed-mode natural convection solar crop dryer (MNCSCD) using a single-pass double-duct solar air-heater (SPDDSAH) is presented. The model was developed in parallel with experimental work. The model comprises the air-heating process model, the drying model and the technical performance criteria model. The governing equations of the drying air temperature and humidity ratio; the material temperature and its moisture content; and performance criteria indicators are derived. The model requires the solution of a number of interrelated non-linear equations and a set of simultaneous differential equations. Results from experimental studies used for generating the required experimental data for validating the model are presented. Results of simulation runs using the model are presented and compared with the experimental data. It is shown that the model can predict the performance of the MNCSCD fairly accurately and therefore can be used as a design tool for prototype development. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine how accurately color-normal subjects that have received basic information about, but do not have practical experience with, the Natural Color System (NCS) can estimate the Heringian components of a representative selection of samples. Twenty-five color-normal subjects, taking part in two trials with at least a 24 h gap between assessments, selected four samples representing individual unique hues (uHs) from a set of 40 highly chromatic NCS samples on a rotatable tray. The samples selected for assessment of components were displayed to the subjects who estimated the hue components of 16 high-chroma samples, hue and white/black components of 16 tonal color samples, and three achromatic samples with different blackness values. Variability in selection of samples representing uHs as well as the relationship between the subjects' estimates of unique hue components and the defined values of the system was obtained. It was found that hues alone are easier to correctly estimate than hues together with white and black and that the components of colors of higher chroma are easier to estimate accurately than those of lower chroma. It was also found that, for R and G, the mean uH choices of subjects differed very little from the NCS's R and G, whereas selections for yellow and blue deviated, the former by 1.22 hue steps (slightly greener than G90Y), and the latter by 1.36 hue steps (represented approximately by R85B). This may impact the accuracy of color models that employ NCS unique hues. 相似文献

We report an exceptional case of pyeloureteral malformation which occurred on a single kidney. The malformation was discovered at 32 week of gestation when ultrasonography showed hydronephrosis. Initial treatment consisted in echoguided drainage. The patient gave birth to a live infant via normal vaginal delivery and then underwent resection of the pyeloureteral malformation with anastomotic reconstruction of the upper urinary tract. 相似文献

One of the recommendations of the National Construction Safety Team (NCST) for the Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster [NIST NCSTAR 1 Final report on the collapse of the World Trade Center Towers. NCST for the Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD, September 2005] is to enhance the capability of available computational software to predict the effects of fires in buildings, for use in the design of fire protection systems and the analysis of building response to fires. Following this recommendation, this paper presents two new interfaces in fire–thermal–structural analysis. The first interface uses adiabatic surface temperatures to provide an efficient way of transferring thermal results from a fire simulation to a thermal analysis. It assigns these temperatures to surface elements of structural members based on proximity and directionality. The second interface allows the transfer of temperature results from a thermal analysis modeled with solid elements to a structural analysis modeled with beams and shells. The interface also allows the reverse, namely the geometric updating of the thermal model with deflections and strains obtained from the structural analysis. This last step is particularly useful in intense fires of long duration, where significant deflections and strains could cause damage to insulation and displace the structure to a different thermal regime. This paper presents a theoretical study of the effects of Poiseuille Reynolds number and eccentricity ratio on the performance of four-pad hydrostatic squeeze film dampers. The finite difference method has been used to solve Reynolds equation based on Constantinescu’s turbulent lubrication theory. The numerical results obtained are analysed and compared between three and four-lobe hybrid journal bearings. The computed results indicate that the performance of a hydrostatic squeeze film damper loaded between pads is significantly influenced by the flow regimes. This paper presents a numerical study of natural convection cooling of two heat sources vertically attached to horizontal walls of a cavity. The right opening boundary is subjected to the copper–water nanofluid at constant low temperature and pressure, while the other boundaries are assumed to be adiabatic. The governing equations have been solved using the finite volume approach, using SIMPLE algorithm on the collocated arrangement. The study has been carried out for the Rayleigh number in the range 104 ≤ Ra ≤ 107, and for solid volume fraction 0 ≤ φ ≤ 0.05. In order to investigate the effect of heat source location, three different placement configurations of heat sources are considered. The effects of both Rayleigh numbers and heat source locations on the streamlines, isotherms, Nusselt number are investigated. The results indicate that the flow field and temperature distributions inside the cavity are strongly dependent on the Rayleigh numbers and the position of the heat sources. The results also indicate that the Nusselt number is an increasing function of the Rayleigh number, the distance between two heat sources, and distance from the wall. In addition it is observed that the average Nusselt number increases linearly with the increase in the solid volume fraction of nanoparticles. 相似文献
