In this study, two thermochemical processes, namely steam gasification and supercritical water gasification (SCWG), were comparatively studied to produce hydrogen from food wastes containing about 90% water. The SCWG experiments were performed at 400 and 450 °C in presence of catalyst (Trona, K2CO3 and seaweed ash). The maximum hydrogen yield was obtained at 450 °C in presence of K2CO3 catalyst. In second process, hydrothermal carbonization was used to convert food wastes into a high-quality solid fuel (hydrochar) that was further gasified in a dual-bed reactor in presence of steam. The steam gasification of hydrochar was carried out with and without catalysts (iron?ceria catalyst and dolomite). The maximum hydrogen yield obtained from steam gasification process was 28.08 mmol/g dry waste, about 7.7 times of that from SCWG. This study proposed a new concept for hydrogen production from wet biomass, combination of hydrothermal carbonization following steam gasification. 相似文献

The effects of halogen lamp–microwave combination baking on the quality of cookies in terms of texture, color and spread ratio were studied. In addition, gelatinization and pasting properties of cookies baked in different ovens were assessed by using a Rapid Visco Analyzer. The hardness values of the cookies increased with increasing baking time and/or halogen power. The microwave power also contributed to cookie hardness. The lightness values of the cookies decreased, while the a* and E values increased linearly during baking at different halogen lamp and microwave powers. The spread ratio of conventionally baked cookies was significantly lower than that of the other cookies. Halogen lamp power, microwave power and baking time were found to have a significant effect on the spread ratio of the cookies. The moisture contents of the cookies decreased during baking as the halogen lamp and/or the microwave power level increased. The best baking condition in a halogen lamp–microwave combination oven to produce cookies having similar quality parameters as conventionally baked ones was baking at 70% halogen lamp and 20% microwave power levels for 5.5 min. This paper reports the effects of modified atmosphere gas compositions with different concentrations of CO(2)/O(2)/N(2) on color properties (L*, a* and b* values), oxidation stability (TBARS value) and microbiological properties of minced beef meat stored at +4 °C. Sampling was carried out on the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th and 14th day of storage. The gas mixtures used were as follows: (i) %30O(2) + %70CO(2) (MAP1), (ii) %50O(2) + %50CO(2) (MAP2), (iii) %70O(2) + %30CO(2) (MAP3), (iv) %50O(2) + %30CO(2) + %20N(2) (MAP4), and (v) %30O(2) + %30CO(2) + %40N(2) (MAP5). Control samples (AP) were packaged under atmospheric air. Pseudomonas, lactic acid bacteria, Brochothrix thermosphacta, and Enterobacteriaceae members were monitored. Among these five modified atmosphere gas compositions, the best preservation for minced beef meat was in MAP4 gas combination maintaining acceptable color together with oxidation stability and acceptable microbial loads until the end of storage period of fourteen days. 相似文献

In this study, the performance of a new cell immobilization material, namely ceramic ball, was examined for continuous biohydrogen production in comparison to suspended cell culture system (CSTR). Production of biohydrogen in both systems was assessed under thermophilic conditions. Both systems were operated at varying hydraulic retention times (HRT) by shortening HRT values from 24 to 1.5 h at an influent sucrose concentration of 10 g/l. The immobilized bioreactor configuration outcompeted the CSTR bioreactor in terms of both volumetric hydrogen production (2.7 l H2/l/day for immobilized system @ HRT = 3 h and 0.5 l H2/l/day for CSTR @ HRT = 24 h) and resistance to cell-washout (CSTR reactor lost significant amount of biomass at short HRT values). It was concluded that immobilized bioreactor configuration is much more robust than CSTR against high organic loading rates and 5 fold more volumetric hydrogen production was achieved in 8 fold smaller immobilized bioreactor. 相似文献

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a non-traditional production method that has been widely used in the production of dies throughout the world in recent years. The most important performance measure in EDM is the surface roughness; among other measures material removal and tool wear rates could be listed. In this study, experiments were performed to determine parameters effecting surface roughness. The data obtained for performance measures have been analyzed using the design of experiments methods. A considerably profound equation is obtained for the surface roughness using power, pulse time, and spark time parameters. The results are discussed. 相似文献

This study was performed to determine whether some flexural properties of a denture base resin material could be improved
through reinforcement with five types of aesthetic fibers at 3% concentration by weight and in 2, 4, and 6 mm length. Five
specimens of similar dimensions were prepared for each of the test groups; base resin and the same resin with glass, rayon,
polyester, nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 fibers in three different lengths. Flexural properties were evaluated by using a 3-point
bending test. A visual examination was also made to determine mode of fracture of the specimens. The incorporation of different
fibers in varying lengths had no significant effect on flexural strength of the resin. The specimens reinforced with nylon
6,6 fibers of 6 mm length showed the highest flexural strength. Young’s modulus and maximum load suggests that such reinforcement

This study has been performed for determining the effects of impregnation with Timbercare Aqua (Tc) on the red and yellow color tone of some woods and varnishes. For this purpose, the test samples prepared from Oriental beech, European oak, Scotch pine, Oriental spruce, and Uludag fir woods, which met the requirements of ASTM D 358, was impregnated with Tc according to ASTM D 1413 and producer's definition. After impregnation, wood surfaces have been coated by Sayerlack parquet varnish (Sp), Sayerlack interior varnish (Si), and Sayerlack exterior varnish (Se) varnishes in accordance with the ASTM D 3023 standards. According to ASTM D 2244, the red and yellow color tone of samples after varnishing process was determined. As a result, the value of red color tone was the highest in Oriental beech (15.21) and the lowest in Uludag fir (5.38). For the wood material, impregnation material, and varnish interaction, the red color tone value was the highest in Oriental beech + Tc + Sp (18.43) and the lowest in Uludag fir + Tc + Si (3.92). The value of the yellow color tone was the highest in pine (34.45) and the lowest in Oriental beech (26.50). For the wood material, impregnation material, and varnish interaction, the yellow color tone value was the highest in Oriental spruce + Tc + Sp (42.12) and the lowest in Oriental beech + Tc + Si (21.47). This effect may be due to the impacts of impregnation chemical on wood extractives and color pigments in varnish.
