Voltage stability indices for stressed power systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The use of static voltage stability indices based on a singular value decomposition of the power flow Jacobian matrix and matrices derived from the Jacobian matrix is discussed. It is shown that such indices, together with the singular vectors, contain substantial and important information about the proximity to voltage instability and also about critical buses and disturbances from a voltage instability point of view. This is done by a theoretical analysis of the linear power flow equations and an analysis from model power systems as well as realistic power systems (1033 nodes). Selective as well as waste forming active centers were defined for MoVNbTeO and MoVTaTeO catalysts in the ammoxidation of propane to acrylonitrile and all catalytic functionalities were assigned to specific elements at the respective active centers. Symbiosis between M1 and M2 phases of these catalysts was observed, with phase cooperation being more extensive in the Nb than Ta containing compositions. The difference in catalytic effectiveness arises most likely because contact and surface area exposure of the two respective, cooperating phase pairs are not equal. The M1 phase of the catalysts is reducible by propane and ammonia in the absence of dioxygen and is regenerable to its original, fully oxidized state by dioxygen (air). No structural collapse is observed even after 120 C3H8 + NH3 reduction pulses. The so induced reduction of the catalyst extends up to 70 layers deep. The product distribution over the first few pulses is very similar to that under catalytic conditions, supporting the concept that lattice oxygen is involved in the catalytic ammoxidation process. Therefore, the ammoxidation of paraffins is a redox process, as is of course the well-known olefin ammoxidation process.  相似文献

The melanocortin receptor 1 (MC1R) plays a central role in regulation of eumelanin (black/brown) and phaeomelanin (red/yellow) synthesis within the mammalian melanocyte and is encoded by the classical Extension (E) coat color locus. Sequence analysis of MC1R from seven porcine breeds revealed a total of four allelic variants corresponding to five different E alleles. The European wild boar possessed a unique MC1R allele that we believe is required for the expression of a wild-type coat color. Two different MC1R alleles were associated with the dominant black color in pigs. MC1R*2 was found in European Large Black and Chinese Meishan pigs and exhibited two missense mutations compared with the wild-type sequence. Comparative data strongly suggest that one of these, L99P, may form a constitutively active receptor. MC1R*3 was associated with the black color in the Hampshire breed and involved a single missense mutation D121N. This same MC1R variant was also associated with EP, which results in black spots on a white or red background. Two different missense mutations were identified in recessive red (e/e) animals. One of these, A240T, occurs at a highly conserved position, making it a strong candidate for disruption of receptor function.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine differences in daily emotional, physical and social reactions among husbands and wives during in-vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Forty couples about to undergo ICSI or IVF at a private infertility clinic monitored their emotional, physical and social reactions daily for one complete treatment cycle from the first day of stimulation until the outcome of treatment was known (approximately 35 days). The results showed that men and women had a similar response pattern to oocyte retrieval, fertilization, embryo transfer and the pregnancy test. These stages were associated with the most significant changes in reactions for both spouses. The pattern of results suggested that the most important psychological determinant of reactions during IVF was the uncertainty of treatment procedures. Spouses appeared to be equally sensitive to this uncertainty and both appeared to respond to it with ambivalent feelings involving emotional distress and positive feelings of hope and intimacy.  相似文献

Cells of a human glioblastoma line were stably transfected with a glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) promoter sequence/lacZ reporter gene. Following this modification, they produced Escherichia coli beta-galactosidase constitutively in amounts that could be measured through their conversion of an added fluorophore into a product readily estimated by fluorimetry. Human interferons (IFN) selectively and in a dose-dependent manner reduce the formation of beta-galactosidase in this system. We have used it as the basis for a novel assay that is sensitive (4-40 pg/ml), precise, completed in 30 h, and applicable to both type I and type II human IFNs. Statistical analysis showed interassay relative standard deviations ranging from 5% to 11%, and most individual assays revealed potencies with limits of error within 85%-115%. Neither partially trypsin-digested IFN nor the other cytokines and mitogens we tested reacted in this system, except for tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). The high selectivity was further shown by the loss of response to IFN in the presence of the appropriate specific anti-IFN or anti-IFN-gamma receptor antibodies.  相似文献

In contrast to the protective effect of chronic caloric restriction on tumor development, we have shown that fasting sustained tumor initiation in rat liver by a noninitiating dose of diethylnitrosamine. Here we investigated whether fasting had a similar favorable effect on initiation in the colorectal mucosa in 80 male F344 rats. Animals fasted for 4 days were given a single s.c. dose of azoxymethane (AOM) (20 mg/kg) on the first day of re-feeding, and rates of kinetic proliferative parameters, and development of the pre-neoplastic lesions such as aberrant crypt foci (ACF), were evaluated. Starvation before AOM treatment enhanced the growth of ACF, as shown by the significantly higher crypt multiplicity of fasted/re-fed rats as compared with fully fed rats (3.97 +/- 0.50 vs. 2.64 +/- 0.20, p < or = 0.025). This difference was associated with perturbations in cell death and cell proliferation. Fasting induced apoptosis and depressed cell division, while re-feeding had opposite effects, resulting in a higher percentage of S-phase cells at the time of AOM injection and 2 days thereafter. Starvation-induced apoptosis may represent the mitogenic stimulus to an increase in the number of cells susceptible to AOM damage, and may favor its fixation, leading to enhanced growth of ACF. Our data therefore suggest that fasting/re-feeding enhances colon cancer.  相似文献

The population distributions of CO(2)-induced irritation sensitivity in the eyes (COI), tear film stability (break-up time, BUT), and epithelium damage (ED) and the relation of these to basic potential confounders were assessed in an age- and gender-stratified random sample of citizens in Aarhus County, Denmark. One hundred eighty-two non-allergic, non-smoking persons participated. A general health questionnaire and an indoor air questionnaire was filled out before the measurements. The BUT was non-normally distributed, as was COI at 16% CO(2) and single ED-scores. However, COI average for all levels was normally distributed and the total score for ED was only marginally deviating. BUT decreased, the threshold to CO(2) increased, and irritation intensity at CO(2) eye exposure decreased with increasing age. ED was increased among women. There were no internal relations between the three measures, but reduced BUT was seen among subjects rating high levels of exposure to dust, electrostatic fields, and dry air. ED decreased by perceived unpleasant odors and increased with experiences of high temperatures. CO(2) sensitivity increased by perceived draught, dry air, and noise exposure prior to measurements. Selection bias cannot be excluded and the results may therefore not be truly representative of the general population. However, the results may be used as reference data for future use of measurements of break-up time, epithelium defects, and CO(2) sensitivity of the eyes in the indoor air. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The most direct implication is that results can be used as reference level for measurements in problem buildings and for individual measurements. The reference can also be used in research and the other results as basis for future hypotheses and for support of existing hypotheses.  相似文献

A graphical tool to facilitate rapid primary annotation of genomic sequence has been developed. Within a single interface the user can import sequences or database entries, run feature prediction programs and similarity searches, filter results, add additional manually found features and notes, and finally export annotations for database submission. Integrated rule-based feature corroboration and a novel decision support heuristic using ORF orientation, length and base-composition further enhances the efficiency of the annotation process without compromising flexibility. The program has been explicitly tailored to use in protozoan parasite genome projects, but can constitute a useful tool for prokaryote annotation as well. It is successfully being used by our lab in the Trypanosoma cruzi genome project, and can be obtained from the authors upon request.  相似文献
