Resilience is often considered both a trait and a process. The current study proposes a new way to conceptualize resilience-as-process based on dynamical systems modeling, which allows researchers to capture the process of stress management in real time. Coupled damped linear oscillator models succinctly describe daily stress and negative affect in terms of developmental forces (e.g., velocity, acceleration). Models were fit to 56-day daily response data from 42 aging adults (Mage = 78.8 years; SDage = 6.6 years) to observe and understand linkages between daily stress and affect. It was speculated that individuals with greater resilience would experience stress as less coupled to changes in negative affect (less stress reactivity), and would recover their affective equilibrium more quickly following a given exogenous stressor (greater stress recovery). To identify resilience resources related to reliable interindividual differences in coupling and damping between stress and negative affect, we examined possible protective factors. Aspects of personality and social support predicted both the strength and nature of this coupling, such that higher levels of these resources resulted in greater protection from the cost to negative affect from stress, as observed in damping of negative affect and decreased coupling between systems. Traces the conceptual impasse that opposes free will and determinism to the dichotomy between subject and object, and to the limitations imposed by the thinking that underlies this division. Thinking rooted in the dialectics of subject and object transcends the impasse of the traditional debate and provides a more complete account of the experiential given of self and of free will. H. Bergson (1959) and M. Merleau-Ponty (1966) are used as examples of applying this dialectical thinking to the problem of freedom and determinism. This approach is then applied to the common analysis of the act of will (which divides will into motive, deliberation, choice, and action), and with the help of a clinical vignette, the self and free agency emerge naturally from the dialectical nature of the data. Mn4Si7 has been substituted with the following elements: Cu, Fe, Re and Cr on the Mn site, and Al, B, Ge, Sn, Ga, In, Na and Tl on the Si site. The Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity and power factor of the substitutional alloys have been evaluated by using density functional theory calculations, and the temperature dependence of the electronic transport properties has been investigated at different charge carrier concentrations by solving the semi-classical Boltzmann transport equation. We show that the substitution of Cu for Mn worsens the thermoelectric properties, while that with Fe appears the?most efficient for increasing the power factor. For In and Tl substitutions, the Seebeck coefficient is increased due to the high d-states contribution in the density of states at the Fermi level. Although the power factor is limited by a poor electrical conductivity, Mn32Si55Tl could exhibit a good figure of merit provided that the amount of Tl atoms is low (at most 1 at.%) and the charge carrier concentration is not too high (around 1020 cm?3).  相似文献

The issue of this paper concerns 0.35 μm Bi-CMOS double polysilicon bipolar transistors and 0.5 μm Bi-CMOS simple polysilicon bipolar transistors. Low-frequency noise measurements are performed. Noise spectral densities are analysed versus bias and geometry. From these noise measurements, base and emitter series resistances are extracted. A comparison of both technologies is done. Though double polysilicon transistors have a more complex structure than the simple polysilicon ones, they exhibit similar or even better performances. Indeed, DC characteristics and noise levels are equivalent for both technologies. Double polysilicon transistors exhibit a reduction of the base resistance and a significant improvement of the transition frequency fT is obtained.  相似文献

TOSQAN is an experimental program undertaken by the Institut de Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN) in order to perform thermal hydraulic containment studies. The TOSQAN facility is a large enclosure devoted to simulate typical accidental thermal hydraulic flow conditions in nuclear-pressurized water reactor (PWR) containment. The TOSQAN facility which is highly instrumented with non-intrusive optical diagnostics is particularly adapted to nuclear safety CFD code validation. The present work is devoted to studying the interaction of a water spray injection used as a mitigation means in order to reduce the gas pressure and temperature in the containment, to produce gases mixing and washout of fission products. In order to have a better understanding of heat and mass transfers between spray droplets and the gas mixture, and to analyze mixing effects due to spray activation, we perform detailed characterization of the two-phase flow.  相似文献

A multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock (MCDF) technique has been used for computing the wavelengths and transition probabilities for lines in the X-ray spectra of the gallium-like ions from Yb XL to U LXII. Results are presented for the 4s24p-4s24d and 4s24p-4s4p2 allowed transitions (E1) as well as for the forbidden transitions (M1 and E2) within the ground configuration 4s24p. A comparison of the calculated wavelengths with the few experimental results available is also presented.  相似文献

A transient finite-element model has been developed to simulate an extracellular action potential recording in a tissue slice by a planar microelectrode array. The thin-film approximation of the active neuron membrane allows the simulation within single finite-element software of the intracellular and extracellular potential fields. In comparison with a compartmental neuron model, it is shown that the thin-film approximation-based model is able to properly represent the neuron bioelectrical behavior in terms of transmembrane current and potential. Moreover, the model is able to simulate extracellular action potential recordings with properties similar to those observed in biological experiments. It is demonstrated that an ideal measurement system model can be used to represent the recording microelectrode, provided that the electronic recording system adapts to the electrode-tissue interface impedance. By comparing it with a point source approximated neuron, it is also shown that the neuron three-dimensional volume should be taken into account to simulate the extracellular action potential recording. Finally, the influence of the electrode size on the signal amplitude is evaluated. This parameter, together with the microelectrode noise, should be taken into account in order to optimize future microelectrode designs in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio.  相似文献

This paper describes an integrated analogue instrumental chain dedicated to measuring magnetic pulses with an amplitude of a few tens or hundreds of microteslas, superimposed to a strong static magnetic field, i.e. 1.5 T. The system features a silicon Hall sensor with nested-chopping-like biasing circuitry, DC Hall voltage compensation, amplifying and multistage filtering. Low-noise performances are achieved by applying 100 kHz spinning current to the Hall device and chopping at 200 kHz to the signal conditioning blocs downstream. The microsystem achieves 20 μT resolution over a 1.6 kHz bandwidth extending from 5 Hz to 1.6 kHz under 1.5 T static field.  相似文献

Experiments in completely spinal cord transected (Tx) cats have provided compelling evidence that clonidine combined with tail stimulation can promote locomotor function recovery. However, clonidine has generally failed to induce locomotor activity in other comparable animal models suggesting the existence of species- or condition-specific effects. This study aimed at investigating the effects of clonidine administered (0.25 or 5.0 mg/kg, i.p.) in mice during tail pinching in early (6-7 days post-Tx) or late (41-42 days post-Tx) paraplegic animals (Th9/10 level). Comparisons were made with the effects induced by 8-OH-DPAT (1.0 mg/kg, i.p.), a 5-HT1A/7 receptor agonist known to display prolocomotor effects. Clonidine with or without tail pinching failed to induce hind limb movements and even suppressed the frequency of spontaneously occurring nonlocomotor (NLM) and locomotor-like movements (LM) whereas tail pinching alone (prior to clonidine administration) increased the frequency of spontaneous movements specifically in late chronic animals. In turn, 8-OH-DPAT clearly induced hind limb movements that remained relatively unchanged during tail pinching. Altogether, the results suggest that the prolocomotor effects of clonidine reported elsewhere must depend upon stimuli or factors that remain to be identified.
