The cyclic voltammetry electroreduction of seven alkyl iodides was investigated in 0.3 M TBAP/DMF on glassy carbon electrode. The influence of carbon chain length and the number of iodine atoms in the molecule was examined. The two-electron reductive cleavage with iodine elimination was numerically resolved into one-electron consecutive steps. The mechanism of the process was discussed applying the mathematical EC(C)E and ECE-EC(C)E kinetic models with included transfer coefficient variability for one stage electroreduction of RI and two stage electroreduction of RI2, respectively. For electroreduction of diiodomethane the discrimination of elementary alpha parameter between two reduction stages was determined.  相似文献

This paper presents novel opportunities for management of fly ash by synthesizing the material into cordierite ceramics and using it as a reinforcing phase for light metal alloys. Metal matrix composites (based on magnesium alloy and aluminum alloy) were produced by squeeze casting. The magnesium matrix composites with a suitably selected reinforcing phase content (2 wt.%) exhibited much better strength properties than the unmodified alloy (AM60). It was also demonstrated that the wettability (or the lack thereof) in the metal-ceramic system is critical to successful production of the composites based on the AK7 alloy with cordierite. Light alloy matrix composites reinforced with cordierite ceramics particles are innovative materials that combine high strength with low weight, which may be a key factor of merit for numerous applications of the composite in various branches of industries.  相似文献

Vinyl ester resins (VERs) are often described as a cross between unsaturated polyester resins and epoxy resins. VERs offer an upgrade to epoxy resins, and they tend to be selected when chemical and temperature resistance is required. This research was aimed at developing the synthesis of unsaturated ester resins (UERs), which are similar to VERs. UERs were synthesized by the addition of dihydrodicyclopentadienyl hydrogen maleate to the terminal epoxy groups in low‐molecular‐weight bisphenol A/epichlorohydrin epoxy resins. The effect of urethanization of UERs on the properties of the crosslinked polymer was also investigated. As crosslinking monomers, styrene and glycol dimethacrylates were used. The following properties of cured UERs were determined: the heat deflection temperature, alkali resistance, and the mechanical strength. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. All 3, 4 and 5% potato starch gels containing either κ-carrageenan, guar gum or xanthan gum were prepared and their stability in terms of rheological and textural properties was checked on 30 day storage. It was shown that rheology of these binary potato starch – non-starchy hydrocolloid mixtures could be controlled by anionic character of the admixed hydrocolloid. Depending on the hydrocolloid added, gels made of the tuber starch can either retain their pattern typical for tuber starches or turn into that typical for gels of cereal starches. Hydrocolloids added plasticity to the binary gels but it was lost to a significant extent within the first day of storage. Resulting gels with dominating elastic character are rheologically and texturally fairly stable for subsequent 30 days of storage. Generally, hydrocolloids stabilized potato starch gel on long-time storage to the extent dependent on the gel concentration.  相似文献

Campylobacter-associated gastroenteritis remains an important cause of morbidity worldwide, and some evidence suggests that poultry is an important source of this foodborne infection in humans. This study was conducted to analyze the prevalence and genetic background of resistance of 149 Campylobacter jejuni and 54 Campylobacter coli strains isolated from broiler chicken carcasses and from stool samples of infected children in Poland from 2003 through 2005. Nearly all isolates were susceptible to macrolides and aminoglycosides. The highest resistance in both human and chicken strains was observed for ciprofloxacin (more than 40%), followed by ampicillin (13 to 21%), and tetracycline (8 to 29%). Resistance to ampicillin and tetracycline rose significantly between 2003 and 2005. Slight differences in resistance between human and chicken isolates indicate that although chicken meat is not the only source of Campylobacter infection in our population, it can be involved in the transmission of drug-resistant Campylobacter strains to humans.  相似文献

Hillock growth kinetics and size distribution were investigated in Al, Al:Si 1% and Al:Si1%:Cu 0.5% layers. Metallization surface was examined by optical, SEM and TEM microscopy, stylus profiling and an automatic method of hillock recognition from a microscope image. The method allowed for counting hillocks in a desired range of their diameter d. Surface density of hillocks was measured as a function of time of furnace annealing at 400°C and as a function of temperature of RTP annealing. A maximum hillock size was found to increase linearly with metallization layer thickness and with logarithm of annealing time. A total area occupied by hillocks was evaluated. Hillock density decreased versus 1/T with an activation energy of 0.28 eV for Al and 0.31 eV for Al:Si. It was found, that a normalized hillock density N may be expressed by a formula N=N0 exp(−cd). Values for N0 and c are given together with a short discussion.  相似文献

Pyroelectric energy conversion is both simulated and realized on thin film lead zirconate titanate capacitors. The thermodynamics of the energy conversion cycle were explored, and the performance of the Brayton cycle was compared with the conventional Ericsson pyroelectric cycle. Cycle performance was examined using coefficients extracted from measured isothermal polarization hysteresis loops. It was found that the Brayton cycle is slightly more efficient than the Ericsson cycle over the range of temperatures tested and has significant efficiency improvements with increasing pyroelectric coefficients. The results from actual energy conversion cycles differed slightly from simulated performance, confirming the known challenges with synchronizing pyroelectric cycles with realistic thermal excitation. Finally, a one‐dimensional thermal transient model is used to explore the power conversion potential of thin film pyroelectrics. It is shown that the Brayton cycle has a significant performance advantage over the Ericsson cycle at higher operating frequencies. A power density of 8 mW/cm3 was obtained using the Brayton cycle for a thin film system at about 60 °C with an applied field of 5 V and stimulation frequency of 0.2 Hz. Conventional fuels used for supplying internal combustion piston engines include petrols and diesel oils produced from petroleum. These are a non-renewable energy source. The environmental policy of the European Union is geared towards increasing the share of renewable fuels in the overall energy consumption. An alternative fuel originating from a renewable source, which could be used for feeding self-ignition internal combustion engines are the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) of plant oils. The paper reports selected results of testing a 1.3 MULTIJET SDE 90 PS self-ignition engine with the Common Rail reservoir feed system supplied with mixtures of diesel oil and rape oil fatty acid methyl esters (FAME). Tests were carried out on an engine test bed equipped with an eddy-current brake. The purpose of the tests was to determine the economic–energy and ecological indices of engine operation. The concentrations of exhaust gas gaseous components were measured using a MEXA-1600DEGR analyzer, while the particulate concentrations, with a MEXA-1230PM analyzer. In addition, the variations of working medium pressures in the engine chamber and of fuel pressure upstream the injector were recorded as a function of crankshaft rotation angle using the AVL IndiSmart 612 indication system for this purpose. The physicochemical properties of fuels used in the tests were determined using a fuel analyzer. The obtained testing results made it possible to determine and assess the operation indices of the engine fed with mixtures of diesel oil and rape oil fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) with slightly higher ester contents than the requirements of the currently applicable diesel oil standard.  相似文献
