'KINFITSIM'--a software to fit kinetic data to a user selected mechanism

A new software package, 'KINFITSIM', for fitting and simulating kinetic data is presented. The main goals of the KINFITSIM package are to obtain the best-fit parameters-rate constants, amplitudes and others-to a user specified chemical mechanism, plots of the calculated and experimental absorbance versus time, and a report to the user with the results. The KINFITSIM package can be used in either chemical research or for educational purposes.     

A Cause-Consequence Chart of a Redundant Protection System

A cause-consequence chart is applied in analysing failures of a redundant protection system (a core spray system in a nuclear power plant). It is shown how the diagram provides a basis for calculating two probability measures for malfunctioning of the protection system. The test policy of components is taken into account. The possibility of using parameter variation as a basis for the choice of test policy is indicated.     

Interactive Design Using the Example of a Complex Medical Application

Applications in the field of capital goods make specific requirements in terms of efficiency, fault tolerance, and verifiability-and therefore of the overall quality of use. Visual design-regarded as something derived logically from the functional stipulations and not just as an accessory to be applied later-contributes to this.

The link between functional requirement and formal design will be illustrated by using Syngo, which is a software platform for controlling the image-transmitting procedure in radiology.

In the context of the annual competition "Industrieforum Design Hannover" (Industrial Design Forum Hanover), Syngo was awarded the special "Best of Category" prize at the "Interaction Design Award 2000" (see Color Plate 11, Figures 1 and 2).     

新型自动焊跟踪系统

焊接自动化是当前工业中一个急待解决的重要题问,解决这一问题的首要任务是实现自动跟踪。自动跟踪的主要关键又是传感器的研究。Aachen工业大学研究成功一种新型自动焊跟踪系统,其特点是直接利用电弧作为传感器,因而具有其他一切跟踪系统所不具备的优点。但是这种系统也存在一个根本性的缺点,即它对短路过程十分敏感,在短路过渡焊接过程中不能采用。最近Aachen大学对此进行了观察研究,成功地解决了这一问题。本文叙述了这一新型自动跟踪系统的原理,装置以及最近研究的结果。由于这一研究成果,本系统不仅用于射流过渡而且可以适用于短路过渡过程的焊接方法。
