Sol-gel method was used to synthesize Zr(4+), La(3+) and Ce(3+) doped mesoporous TiO(2) materials with different weight percentage (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 wt%) using triblock copolymer as the structure directing template in ethanol/water medium. Characterization revealed the isomorphic substitution of Zr(4+) ion into the lattice of TiO(2), and surface binding nature of La(3+) and Ce(3+) ions on mesoporous TiO(2). Microscopic examination confirmed the surface adsorption of foreign ion which could alter the particle morphology. The size of the particles was less than 20 nm. Photocatalytic activity of metal ions doped mesoporous TiO(2) was evaluated using aqueous alachlor as a model pollutant. It was found that 1 wt% Ce(3+) doped mesoporous TiO(2) exhibited higher activity than pure and other metal ions doped mesoporous TiO(2). The change of oxidation state of Ce(3+) is suggested to be the cause for enhanced photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

The corrosion of the carbon-based bipolar plate was studied under unitized regenerative fuel cell (URFC) operation conditions. At overpotentials higher than 2.0 V vs. normal hydrogen electrode (NHE), cell performance in the electrolyzer mode significantly decreases with time due to the increased ohmic resistance of the carbon-based bipolar plates. During fuel cell operation, the unit cell shows an ohmic resistance of approximately 0.15 Ω. After the operation in the electrolyzer mode, the ohmic resistance of the cell increases up to 1.24 Ω. The surface image of the carbon-based bipolar plate after water electrolysis reaction at 2.0 V shows a drastic corrosion at the contact area of the bipolar plate with the electrode. The corrosion of the rib in the flow-field increases the contact resistance between the electrode and the bipolar plate, which leads to the observed decrease in cell performance. A gold coating of 1 μm on the titanium bipolar plates is very effective in preventing titanium oxidation during the URFC operation. The ohmic resistance of the cells that are prepared with bare titanium and gold-deposited titanium bipolar plates is 0.40 Ω and 0.18 Ω, respectively. In fact, the gold coating serves as a barrier layer, which inhibits the formation of the passive layer on the surface of titanium-based bipolar plates. The cycling experiments in the fuel cell and in the electrolyzer mode indicate that the gold-coated titanium bipolar plates exhibit a stable performance.  相似文献

Polymeric films were deposited from hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) plasma on non-woven poly(butyleneterephtalate) (PBT) filter materials. To test the effect of deposition conditions on surface properties, film were deposited using a constant monomer flow rate and a discharge power ranging from 40-100 W. Surface composition and surface energetics were evaluated by Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) and contact angle measurement, respectively. Albumin (Alb) and fibrinogen (Fg) adsorption from single protein solutions to the plasma-coated filters was measured. Results illustrate the marked effects of the deposition condition on the surface composition, the surface field of forces, and the protein adsorption behavior. The latter is modeled by the application of the Good-van Oss-Chaudhury theory of Lewis acid-base contribution to interfacial energetics. Materials endowed with widely different properties are obtained from the same monomer and different deposition conditions, a result that must be taken into account both in the production step, to assure constant quality, and in the development of specifically tailored materials.  相似文献

An iterative method is developed to optimize a performance criterion for best achievable performance for discrete integral controllers used in run-to-run control. An analytical expression is derived so that a realistic assessment of the given integral controller is obtained. Using the theoretical equivalence of discrete integral and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) controllers, the method is then extended to performance assessment of EWMA controllers. A semiconductor manufacturing example is used to illustrate the utility of the method.  相似文献

The Zr3Al-based intermetallics have been considered as candidate materials for structural components in pressurized heavy water nuclear reactors due to their attractive properties. However, these alloys could not be used for structural application in the reactors because of their poor room-temperature ductility and irradiation-induced amorphization. Our recent studies of ternary addition of niobium in Zr3Al have shown some promising results. The present article reports the microstructural evolution in these alloys upon long-time annealing treatments. The formation of various phases, temperature regime of their stability, chemical composition, and volume fraction of these phases during prolonged annealing have also been studied. A pseudobinary phase diagram with varying niobium concentration has also been developed. The morphology and distribution of the Zr3Al phase have been explained on the basis long-range diffusion as the rate-controlling step. The Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) has been a powerful signal processing tool for time-frequency signal analysis. Consequently, many algorithms have been proposed in the literature for computing the WVD in real-time applications. However, Boashash (1987) has proposed and showed that the evaluation of the analytic signal using the time-domain approach, and involving the Hilbert transformer, is the most efficient algorithm for real-time applications. A fixed-point error analysis of this algorithm has been carried out. The theoretical noise-to-signal ratio (NSR) is derived and verified through simulation. The results indicate that for this algorithm, the NSR increases by 0.5 bit/stage, whereas for the other algorithms, it increases by 1 bit/stage  相似文献

Alumina coated on Titanium alloys find wide tribological applications due to the improvement in hardness of substrate. This paper presents the effect of deposition of alumina by pulsed laser ablation on Vickers hardness of Ti-6Al-4V substrate. Nd: YAG laser of wavelength 1064nm is used with sintered alumina disc as target for ablation. The variation of Vickers microhardness with load in Ti-6Al-4V shows indentation size effect. Proportional Specimen Resistance (P.S.R) model is applied to separate load -independent hardness from the load -dependent hardness. Composite hardness of Alumina coated Ti-6Al-4V is measured for different laser processing conditions. The film hardness has been separated from the composite hardness of the film-substrate system by the use of an approach based on the law of area of mixtures model taking into an account of ISE, due to proportional specimen resistance of the material to indentation. Film hardness of different films produced by varying the target — substrate distance is presented. As the film thickness increases its hardness decreases as compared to bulk hardness. These studies will be useful in the selection of appropriate coating thickness and substrate hardness to achieve a required composite hardness in the design and production of wear-resistant parts of engineering devices.  相似文献

A trypsin/chymotrypsin inhibitor was isolated from Indian red wood seeds by extraction with 0.01m HCl, chromatography on diethyl amino ethyl-cellulose, ammonium sulphate fractionation and gel chromatography on Sephadex G-100. The homogeneity of the final product was ascertained by affinity chromatography on trypsin sepharose and chromatography on phenyl sepharose CL-4B columns. During all stages of purification and characterisation the ratio of activities against trypsin and chymotrypsin remained constant at about 1.1:1 indicating that the same factor is responsible for both activities. The size of the inhibitor was found to be 24 000 daltons based on gel chromatographic studies on Sephadex G-100 and by sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The molar ratio of interaction between the inhibitor and bovine trypsin for complete inactivation of the enzyme was found to be 1.04:1. Electrophoretic and gel chromatographic studies indicated that the purified inhibitor is capable of undergoing aggregation to form dimers and trimers. Even in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulphate and sodium dodecyl sulphateurea, this phenomenon was discernible. The binding sites on the inhibitor for trypsin and chymotrypsin were not mutually exclusive, based on the data from mixed enzyme studies and on analysis of the inhibitor-enzyme complexes by gel chromatography on Sephadex G-100. Modification of the arginyl residues of the inhibitor resulted in the loss of more of the antitryptic activity than of antichymotryptic activity. Conversely, modification of amino groups resulted in the loss of more of the antichymotryptic activity. The inhibitor was stable to exposure to a wide range of pH (1.0–12.0), but it was completely inactivated on heat-treatment at 100°C for 15 min. The mode of inhibition of trypsin as well as chymotrypsin was non-competitive and Ki values for the inhibitor were 2.92 × 10-10M and 4.46 × 10-10M , respectively, for the two enzymes.  相似文献

After formulation of the various dynamical and kinematical relations connecting the flow quantities with the geometrical parameters of the streamline trajectories, the expressions for the tangent, principal normal and binormal vectors and the curvature and torsion of the streamlines have been obtained in terms of the velocity components, pressure, density, thermal conductivity and radiation variables. This is followed by the determination of the pressure gradient along the streamlines, their principal normals and binormals. It has been shown that the radiating character of the gas decreases the pressure gradient whereas thermal conductivity increases it along the streamlines but the pressure remains constant along the binormals and if the streamlines are straight lines, the trajectories of the principal normals lie on the surface of the constant pressure. Finally, the expressions for the vorticity components in terms of the curvature of the streamline and the velocity gradients along the streamline, their principal normals and binormals have been obtained.  相似文献
