Efficient green emission from ZnMgS:Mn2+ nanoparticles prepared by co-doping Mg2+ and Mn2+ ions into ZnS lattices has been observed. The synthesis is carried out in aqueous solution, followed by a post-annealing process, thus showing the features of less complexity, low cost, and easy incorporation of dopants. In comparison with the emission of ZnS:Mn2+ nanoparticles, which is located generally around 590 nm, the photoluminescence of ZnMgS:Mn2+ nanoparticles is blue-shifted by 14 nm in wavelength, leading to the enhanced green emission. The X-ray diffraction, electron spin resonance, and pressure dependent photoluminescence measurements suggest that the change of the crystal field caused by Mg2+ ionic doping and the lower symmetry in the nanoparticles may account for the blue-shift of the photoluminescence. The ZnMgS:Mn2+ nanoparticles with 1% Mn2+ doping exhibit the strongest luminescence, which could potentially meet the requirements for the construction of green light emitting diodes.  相似文献

Transients were observed after a change in strain rate during the tensile deformation of Al?Mg single crystals in the temperature range where Portevin-LeChatelier effect occurs. Such transients were analyzed to elucidate the mechanism of the process causing them. The kinetics of the transients were studied and compared with the kinetics of the yield point occuring after stress relaxation in the same temperature range. The experimental results indicate that the transient due to the change in strain rate and the yield point after stress relaxation are caused by strain aging. The kinetics of strain aging is characterized by an initialt 2/3 dependence on the timet and an apparent activation energy of 0.1 ev.  相似文献

This paper describes the design, construction, and testing of a thyristorized speed control unit for a separately excited dc motor. The motor is fed from a three-phase six-pulse fully controlled thyristor bridge. A speed loop with a proportional plus integral controller maintains the desired speed irrespective of the load variations on the motor. An inner current control loop protects the thyristors from overcurrents. This loop also provides fast response overcoming the effect of disturbances such as variations in supply voltage. The design aspects of the control loops are discussed, and experimental results are given.  相似文献

Sustainable development in both the developed and developing world has the common fundamental themes of advancing economic and social prosperity while protecting and restoring natural systems. While many recent efforts have been undertaken to transfer knowledge from the developed to the developing world to achieve a more sustainable future, indigenous knowledge that often originates in developing nations also can contribute significantly to this global dialogue. Selected case studies are presented to describe important knowledge, methodologies, techniques, principles, and practices for sustainable development emerging from developing countries in two critical challenge areas to sustainability: water and energy. These, with additional analysis and quantification, can be adapted and expanded for transfer throughout the developed and developing world in advancing sustainability. A common theme in all of the case studies presented is the integration of natural processes and material flows into the anthropogenic system. Some of these techniques, originating in rural settings, have recently been adapted for use in cities, which is especially important as the global trend of urban population growth accelerates. Innovations in science and technology, specifically applied to two critical issues of today, water and energy, are expected to fundamentally shift the type and efficiency of energy and materials utilized to advance prosperity while protecting and restoring natural systems.  相似文献

This paper proposes algorithms for allocating wavelengths to connections (lightpaths) in optical wavelength division multiplexed networks, predominantly for ring topologies. A worst-case model is considered, where no blocking of lightpaths is allowed, and there are no assumptions made on the traffic arrival and holding times. The traffic is characterized only by its load L, which is the maximum number of lightpaths that can be present on any link, assuming no blocking. A dynamic traffic model is considered where requests to set up lightpaths arrive over time and, must be accommodated without rerouting existing lightpaths, and lightpaths may be terminated over time as well. For networks without wavelength conversion, we show that at least 0.5Llog 2N wavelengths are required by any dynamic algorithm for rings of N nodes and present an algorithm that uses at most Llog2 N+L wavelengths for rings and 2(L-1)log2N for trees. We also study the worst-case behavior of the well-known first-fit algorithm, and show that it requires at most 2.52Llog2N+5L wavelengths (small variants of these constants are proven as well). When limited wavelength conversion is allowed, we first show how to use expanders to insure no blocking in arbitrary topologies. Then, we present conversion patterns for rings with conversion degree d=2, which require Llog2L+4L or 2Llog2log2L+4L wavelengths, thereby eliminating the dependence (that exists without wavelength conversion) between the number of wavelengths and N. We also consider different traffic models where lightpath setup requests arrive over time, but once set up, lightpaths are never taken down. A conventional gas metal arc welding (GMAW) butt-joining process has been modeled using a two-way fully coupled, transient, thermal-mechanical finite-element procedure. To achieve two-way thermal-mechanical coupling, the work of plastic deformation resulting from potentially high thermal stresses is allowed to be dissipated in the form of heat, and the mechanical material model of the workpiece and the weld is made temperature dependent. Heat losses from the deposited filler-metal are accounted for by considering conduction to the adjoining workpieces as well as natural convection and radiation to the surroundings. The newly constructed GMAW process model is then applied, in conjunction with the basic material physical-metallurgy, to a prototypical high-hardness armor martensitic steel (MIL A46100). The main outcome of this procedure is the prediction of the spatial distribution of various crystalline phases within the weld and the heat-affected zone regions, as a function of the GMAW process parameters. The newly developed GMAW process model is validated by comparing its predictions with available open-literature experimental and computational data.  相似文献

The adhesion of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) Cu thin films to various barriers was observed to improve with a post-deposition anneal or a physical vapor deposition (PVD) Cu flash layer on the barrier before depositing CVD Cu. The ambient exposure of the barrier before the deposition of CVD Cu has been observed to lead to degradation of adhesion in both CVD Cu seed and CVD/PVD Cu high vacuum integrated metallization schemes. The integrated CVD and PVD Cu deposition scheme exhibits better adhesion due to the inherent annealing provided during the PVD deposition which is carried out at temperatures between 300 and 400°C. We have evaluated both qualitative and quantitative tests — tape test, Stud pull test and 4-point bend test — in understanding adhesion and observed that each of these tests give different details of interface breakdown.  相似文献

We provide network designs for optical add-drop wavelength-division-multiplexed (OADM) rings that minimize overall network cost, rather than just the number of wavelengths needed. The network cost includes the cost of the transceivers required at the nodes as well as the number of wavelengths. The transceiver cost includes the cost of terminating equipment as well as higher-layer electronic processing equipment, which in practice can dominate over the cost of the number of wavelengths in the network. The networks support dynamic (i.e., time-varying) traffic streams that are at lower rates (e.g., OC-3, 155 Mb/s) than the lightpath capacities (e.g., OC-48, 2.5 Gb/s). A simple OADM ring is the point-to-point ring, where traffic is transported on WDM links optically, but switched through nodes electronically. Although the network is efficient in using link bandwidth, it has high electronic and opto-electronic processing costs. Two OADM ring networks are given that have similar performance but are less expensive. Two other OADM ring networks are considered that are nonblocking, where one has a wide-sense nonblocking property and the other has a rearrangeably nonblocking property. Considers routing connections in a reconfigurable optical network using WDM. Each connection between a pair of nodes in the network is assigned a path through the network and a wavelength on that path, such that connections whose paths share a common link in the network are assigned different wavelengths. The authors derive an upper bound on the carried traffic of connections (or equivalently, a lower bound on the blocking probability) for any routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) algorithm in such a network. The bound scales with the number of wavelengths and is achieved asymptotically (when a large number of wavelengths is available) by a fixed RWA algorithm. The bound can be used as a metric against which the performance of different RWA algorithms can be compared for networks of moderate size. The authors illustrate this by comparing the performance of a simple shortest-path RWA (SP-RWA) algorithm via simulation relative to the bound. They also derive a similar bound for optical networks using dynamic wavelength converters, which are equivalent to circuit-switched telephone networks, and compare the two cases. Finally, they quantify the amount of wavelength reuse achievable in large networks using the SP-RWA via simulation as a function of the number of wavelengths, number of edges, and number of nodes for randomly constructed networks as well as de Bruijn networks.
