Precursor-derived Si-C-N ceramics after creep testing in air were characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD analysis showed that the crept Si-C-N ceramics were covered by an α-cristobalite layer. TEM observations revealed that the precipitated nanocrystallites in the crept Si-C-N ceramics were β-SiC. Between α-cristobalite and crept Si-C-N ceramic, there was an intermediate zone in which Si2N2O nanocrystallites were distributed homogeneously. Moreover, Si2N2O nanocrystallites were often found covering the surface of nanosized gas channels in the crept Si-C-N ceramics, where no α-cristobalite phase was detected. Based on these observations, a two-step oxidation mechanism of Si-C-N ceramics during creep testing in air was proposed.  相似文献

Image calibration requires both linearization of pixel values and scaling so that values in the image correspond to real‐world luminances. In this paper we focus on the latter and rather than rely on camera characterization, we calibrate images by analysing their content and metadata, obviating the need for expensive measuring devices or modeling of lens and camera combinations. Our analysis correlates sky pixel values to luminances that would be expected based on geographical metadata. Combined with high dynamic range (HDR) imaging, which gives us linear pixel data, our algorithm allows us to find absolute luminance values for each pixel—effectively turning digital cameras into absolute light meters. To validate our algorithm we have collected and annotated a calibrated set of HDR images and compared our estimation with several other approaches, showing that our approach is able to more accurately recover absolute luminance. We discuss various applications and demonstrate the utility of our method in the context of calibrated color appearance reproduction and lighting design.  相似文献

Quantitative experimental results on the antiherbivorous effect of cyanogenesis are rare. In our analyses, we distinguished between the total amount of cyanide-containing compounds stored in a given tissue [cyanogenic potential (HCNp)] and the capacity for release of HCN per unit time (HCNc) from these cyanogenic precursors as a reaction to herbivory. We analyzed the impact of these cyanogenic features on herbivorous insects using different accessions of lima beans (Phaseolus lunatus L.) with different cyanogenic characteristics in their leaves and fourth instars of the generalist herbivore Schistocerca gregaria Forskål (Orthoptera, Acrididae). Young leaves exhibit a higher HCNp and HCNc than mature leaves. This ontogenetic variability of cyanogenesis was valid for all accessions studied. In no-choice bioassays, feeding of S. gregaria was reduced on high cyanogenic lima beans compared with low cyanogenic beans. A HCNp of about 15 μmol cyanide/g leaf (fresh weight) with a corresponding HCNc of about 1 μmol HCN released from leaf material within the first 10 min after complete tissue disintegration appears to be a threshold at which the first repellent effects on S. gregaria were observed. The repellent effect of cyanogenesis increased above these thresholds of HCNp and HCNc. No repellent action of cyanogenesis was observed on plants with lower HCNp and HCNc. These low cyanogenic accessions of P. lunatus were consumed extensively—with dramatic consequences for the herbivore. After consumption, locusts showed severe symptoms of intoxication. Choice assays confirmed the feeding preference of locusts for low over high cyanogenic leaf material of P. lunatus. The bioassays revealed total losses of HCN between 90 and 99% related to the estimated amount of ingested cyanide-containing compounds by the locusts. This general finding was independent of the cyanogenic status (high or low) of the leaf material.  相似文献

Ca15(CBN)6(C2)2O contains CBN4− anions as well as C2 units and isolated O2− anions. The compound is obtained by heating a stoichiometric mixture of CaO, C and BN with an excess of Ca in sealed niobium ampoules to 1270 K. High-pressure homogenization is a widely used process in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industry for producing emulsions. Because of small dimensions and high velocities, the experimental and numerical investigation of such a process is challenging. Hence, the development of products is mostly based on trial and error. In this paper, simulations of a generic high-pressure homogenization process using the Lagrangian, mesh-free smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method are presented and compared to experimental findings using Micro-Particle Image Velocimetry (μ-PIV). The SPH code has been developed and validated with the scope of simulating technical relevant multi-phase problems (Höfler et al. 2012). The present simulations cover the investigation of two different dynamic viscosities of the dispersed phase as well as different droplet trajectories. The comparison between the simulations and the experiments focusses on the velocity distribution of the continuous phase and the droplet deformation and breakup. In both cases a qualitatively good agreement is observed, demonstrating the ability of our SPH implementation for simulating technical relevant two-phase flows.  相似文献

The Network Mobility (NEMO) protocol is needed to support the world-wide mobility of aircraft mobile networks across different access networks in the future IPv6 based aeronautical telecommunications network (ATN). NEMO suffers from the constraint that all traffic has to be routed via the home agent though. The already existing correspondent router (CR) protocol solves this triangular routing problem and permits to route packets on a direct path between the mobile network and the ground based correspondent nodes. We identify security deficiencies of this protocol that make it unsuitable for use within the ATN. We therefore propose a new route optimization procedure based on the CR protocol that provides a higher level of security. We evaluate our new protocol in three ways. We first conduct a simulation based handover performance study using an implementation of a realistic aeronautical access technology. We then investigate the mobility signaling overhead. Finally, we specify a threat model applicable for the aeronautical environment and use it to perform a security analysis of both the old and our new protocol. It is shown that our protocol is not only more secure but also provides better handover latency, smaller overhead in the aeronautical scenario and a higher level of resilience when compared to the original CR protocol.  相似文献
