Fine structure of the Raman D band in single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was investigated by heating and laser irradiation. It is shown that the D band is composed of three components at ~ 1313, 1340, and 1355 cm? 1, denoted by D1, D2, and D3, respectively. The D1 and D2 intensities significantly increase with laser irradiation in air and vacuum, respectively. The D3 intensity drastically increases with heating in air. From these results, it is suggested that the fine structure of the D band is attributed to different kinds of defects introduced in SWNTs. 相似文献

Kinetic studies were performed on the reactions of phenylboronic acid with L-lactic acid and mandelic acid in acidic aqueous and alkaline solutions in order to specify reactive species in these reactions. It was confirmed that the diprotonated ligand (H2L: L-lactic acid or mandelic acid) is less reactive than the monoprotonated ligand (HL?: L-lactate ion or mandelate ion), which made possible direct determination of the rate constants of phenylboronic acid (PhB(OH)2) and its conjugate base, phenylboronate ion (PhB(OH)3?). It was found that PhB(OH)2 is more reactive than PhB(OH)3?. On the basis of kinetic results, it was concluded that the most reactive species are PhB(OH)2 and HL? at physiological pH 7.4, so the reaction in the boronic acid-based sensor for L-lactate mainly would occur between these species. 相似文献

The deformation of plasma-sprayed alumina droplets of 35-55 μm diameter d with an impact velocity of around 90 m/s has been investigated over various micro-patterned substrates with an arithmetic
mean roughness of 0.5 μm. On a line-and-space pattern, droplets exhibited elliptical splats extending in the direction perpendicular
to the line, when the normalized pattern spacing λ (= x/d) was 0.1-0.3, where x is the pattern spacing. The fingering of the splats was also caused by a concave pattern as well as by a convex pattern and
the number of fingers significantly increased at λ = 0.2. In addition, holes suggesting air entrapment were observed off center
in the bottom side of each splat by approximately 1.5 times the radius of the droplets, regardless of the pattern. These results

The effects of an inner constraint layer and alumina particles on the microstructure, strength, and shrinkage of the laminated low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) green sheet were investigated. Alumina particles of several sizes were used in the inner-constraint layer in order to strengthen the LTCC substrate. Smaller alumina particles in the inner-constraint layer produced a substrate with a high bending strength. Sintering shrinkage in the x – y direction of the LTCC is related to the bending strength of the debinded alumina particle layer used for an inner-constraint layer. A larger pore size in the inner-constraint layer was found to increase the distance of the glass penetration from the glass–alumina layer into the inner-constraint layer. The total thickness of the constraint layer changes the shrinkage in the x – y direction and the bending strength. 相似文献

Improvement in the oxidation resistance of SUS304 stainless steel was accomplished by electrodeposition of La in a molten salt. The electrolysis of La was conducted using a potentiostatic-polarization method in an equimolar NaCl–KCl melt containing 3.5 mol. LaF 3 at 1023 K. Observation of the specimen surface after polarization at –1.8 V (vs. Ag/Ag+ (0.1)) for 0.18 ks showed that La particles were uniformly dispersed on the surface. The oxidation resistance of the electrodeposited stainless steel was significantly improved as compared with the untreated stainless steel. The scale formed on the untreated stainless steel after oxidation was thick and consisted of Fe2O3 and Fe3O4, whereas the scale formed on the elecrodeposited stainless steel was extremely thin, and mainly consisted of Cr2O3. 相似文献

Evaporation behavior of water/solvent blends was estimated using the universal functional activity coefficient, UNIFAC, method. The evaporation rate from a free surface of a waterborne coating, WBC, containing a co-solvent was experimentally determined. These results were used to estimate the evaporation rate from wet films of a WBC containing a variety of co-solvents with a range of initial thickness. Knowing the composition of the WBC during the drying process, the change in the viscosity and the surface tension was determined. The results strongly support the development of a surface tension gradient in the film. It is also suggested that a surface tension gradient would accelerate the leveling of the ribs if a proper co-solvent were employed. 相似文献

resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry showed that the structure of calditol in calditoglycerocaldarchaeol is not nonitol,
2-(1′,2′,3′-trihydroxypropyl)1,2,3,4,5,6-hexahydroxyhexane, but 2-hydroxymethyl-1-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy),2,3,4,5-cyclopentanetetraol
with an ether linkage in the molecule. Such an intermolecular ether linkage was resistant, to BCl3 treatment, but nonresistant to 57% HI degradation treatment conducted at 100°C for 60 h, producting 2-hydroxymethyl-1,2,3,4,5-cyclopentanepentaol
from calditol as reaction product. Further, it was confirmed that the structure of calditol is essentially a derivative of
glycerol, and hydrocarbon chains were conjugated to the glycerol-like site in the structure. The calditol with an ether linkage
in the molecule suggested an important role regarding the properties of heat-resistance and acid-resistance observed inSulfolobales.

A grid model describing the gas flow and interchange in the grid zone of jetting fluidized beds is proposed. Based on this model, longitudinal gas concentration profiles in the jet and annulus are calculated. The longitudinal gas concentration distribution is also experimentally investigated in a jetting fluidized bed with an inside diameter of 50 mm at the ambient temperature, and a jetting fluidized bed with an inside diameter of 80 mm at high temperatures. Comparison between the calculated and experimental results has shown that the experimental profiles can be qualitatively predicted by the grid model. The results indicated that the concentration in the grid zone depends on the gas exchange between the jet and the annulus, and the net gas flow from the jet to the annulus. The gas exchange rate is mainly affected by the inlet gas velocity from the nozzle. The present study is thought to be helpful to understand the grid gas behavior in the jetting fluidized bed coal gasifier. 相似文献

Bryophytes with high As accumulation affinity were identified in the aquatic environment. We surveyed a stream near copper mine tailings and then conducted laboratory experiments to confirm As accumulation in the bryophytes with high As affinity. We found that a moss, Scopelophila cataractae, accumulates As in addition to Cu in aquatic environments and confirmed it in laboratory experiments. The highest value for As in S. cataractae from the field survey was 1300 mg/kg dry weight at relatively low As concentrations in the stream water (0.005 mg/L). In addition, Brachythecium plumosum and Rhynchostegium riparioides may also be useful bryophytes for accumulation of Cu and As, though the mechanisms of As accumulation might differ between these two bryophytes and S. cataractae. 相似文献

Laboratory accumulation and excretion experiments of 4-nonylphenols (NP) and 4-tert-octylphenol (OP) were performed for killifish (Oryzias latipes). The bioconcentration factors (BCF, wet weight) in the whole fish were mean +/- SD of 167 +/- 23 (n = 4) for NP and 261 +/- 62 (n = 4) for OP. The biological half-lives in the whole fish were 9.9 h for NP and 7.7 h for OP. Parallel to the laboratory experiments, field survey on the chemicals contamination for water and ayu fish (Plecoglossus altivelis) from rivers flowing into Lake Biwa was performed. The contamination was not so high in agreement with the laboratory experimental data and the field BCF values (wet weight) in the ayu fish were 21 +/- 15 (n = 8) for NP and 297 +/- 194 (n = 3) for OP. 相似文献
