Mapping the optical near-field response around nanoantennas is a challenging yet indispensable task to engineer light-matter interaction at the nanometer scale. Recently, photosensitive molecular probes, which undergo morphological or chemical changes induced by the local optical response of the nanostructures, have been proposed as a handy alternative to more cumbersome optical and electron-based techniques. Here, we report four-photon absorption in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a very promising tool for nanoimaging the optical near-field around nanostructures over a broad range of near-infrared optical wavelengths. The high performance of our approach is demonstrated on single-rod antennas and coupled gap antennas by comparing experimental maps with 3D numerical simulations of the electric near-field intensity.  相似文献

A novel application of capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence detection (CE-LIF) was proposed to efficiently detect and monitor the interaction between polymeric nanoparticles and the β-Amyloid peptide (Aβ(1-42)), a biomarker for Alzheimer's Disease (AD), at concentrations close to physiological conditions. The CE-LIF method allowed the interaction between PEGylated poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate) nanoparticles (NPs) and the soluble Aβ(1-42) peptide monomers to be highlighted. These results were confirmed by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). Whereas SPR showed an interaction between the NPs and the Aβ(1-42) peptide, CLSM allowed the formation of large aggregates/assemblies at high NP and peptide concentrations to be visualized. All these results suggested that these nanoparticles could bind the Aβ(1-42) peptide and influence its aggregation kinetics. Interestingly, the non-PEGylated poly(alkyl cyanoacrylate) NPs did not alter the aggregation kinetics of the Aβ(1-42) peptide, thus emphasizing the high level of discrimination of the CE-LIF method with respect to NPs.  相似文献

Solvent additives provide an effective means to alter the morphology and thereby improve the performance of organic bulk‐heterojunction photovoltaics, although guidelines for selecting an appropriate solvent additive remain relatively unclear. Here, a family of solvent additives spanning a wide range of Hansen solubility parameters is applied to a molecular bulk‐heterojunction system consisting of an isoindigo and thiophene containing oligomer as the electron donor and [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) as the electron acceptor. Hansen solubility parameters are calculated using the group contribution method and compared with the measured solubilities for use as a screening method in solvent additive selection. The additives are shown to alter the morphologies in a semipredictable manner, with the poorer solvents generally resulting in decreased domain sizes, increased hole mobilities, and improved photovoltaic performance. The additives with larger hydrogen bonding parameters, namely triethylene glycol (TEG) and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP), are demonstrated to increase the open circuit voltage by ~0.2 V. Combining a solvent additive observed to increase short circuit current, poly(dimethylsiloxane), with TEG results in an increase in power conversion efficiency from 1.4 to 3.3%.  相似文献

The effect of the macromolecular additive, polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), on the performance of solution processed molecular bulk heterojunction solar cells is investigated, and the addition of PDMS is shown to improve device power conversion efficiency by ~70% and significantly reduce cell-to-cell variation, from a power conversion efficiency of 1.25 ± 0.37% with no PDMS to 2.16 ± 0.09% upon the addition of 0.1 mg/mL PDMS to the casting solution. The cells are based on a thiophene and isoindigo containing oligomer as the electron donor and [6,6]-phenyl-C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PC(61)BM) as the electron acceptor. PDMS is shown to have a strong influence on film morphology, with a significant decrease in film roughness and feature size observed. The morphology change leads to improved performance parameters, most notably an increase in the short circuit current density from 4.3 to 6.8 mA/cm(2) upon addition of 0.1 mg/mL PDMS. The use of PDMS is of particular interest, as this additive appears frequently as a lubricant in plastic syringes commonly used in device fabrication; therefore, PDMS may unintentionally be incorporated into device active layers.  相似文献

A psychrotolerant bacteria of the Bacillus cereus group was found responsible for the spoilage of whole liquid egg products. By sequencing a 16S rRNA region and performing a PCR amplification of specific 16S rRNA and cspA signatures, a Bacillus weihenstephanensis was identified. Characterization of this strain shows its ability to grow in defined medium as well as in whole liquid egg at refrigerated temperatures. The strain isolated possesses genes encoding for hemolysin BL, nonhemolytic enterotoxin, and B. cereus enterotoxins and produces enterotoxins with cytotoxic activity in whole liquid egg, even at refrigerated temperatures. The isolate exhibits a clear ability to stick and form biofilms on stainless steel, the most common material used in egg breaking factories, as well as on model hydrophilic (glass) and hydrophobic (polytetrafluoroethylene) materials. These findings show the necessity to monitor for Bacillus contamination in egg products that are often used in the composition of particularly susceptible finished products such as cream, dessert, dairy, meat, and seafood.  相似文献

Microwave sintering of alumina has been carried out using SiC and Y‐ZrO2 based susceptors. The microstructure of the sintered samples has been rigorously compared and correlated to the heating behaviour of the susceptor used. It was found that the nature of the susceptor highly influences the sintering behaviour of alumina. The results show that at high temperatures, the electrical conductivity of the SiC susceptor tends to screen the incident electric field, thus resulting in a surface heating of the alumina sample material. When using ZrO2 susceptor, the microstructure analysis of the sintered alumina samples reveals a volumetric heating, which is a signature of the microwave dielectric loss mechanism. This could be explained by the lower ZrO2 electrical conductivity compared to the SiC one. The simulation results confirm this behaviour, particularly showing that in the presence of ZrO2, the intensity of the electric field within the sample is higher than the one when SiC susceptor is used. Basically, the results of the simulation data are in good agreement with our experimental results. Although the SiC based susceptor is usually used in the microwave heating of materials, the ZrO2 based susceptor presents numerous advantages over the SiC one, especially in term of direct microwave heating contributions.  相似文献

Infants born after intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) are at risk of developing arterial hypertension at adulthood. The endothelium plays a major role in the pathogenesis of hypertension. Endothelial colony-forming cells (ECFCs), critical circulating components of the endothelium, are involved in vasculo-and angiogenesis and in endothelium repair. We previously described impaired functionality of ECFCs in cord blood of low-birth-weight newborns. However, whether early ECFC alterations persist thereafter and could be associated with hypertension in individuals born after IUGR remains unknown. A rat model of IUGR was induced by a maternal low-protein diet during gestation versus a control (CTRL) diet. In six-month-old offspring, only IUGR males have increased systolic blood pressure (tail-cuff plethysmography) and microvascular rarefaction (immunofluorescence). ECFCs isolated from bone marrow of IUGR versus CTRL males displayed a decreased proportion of CD31+ versus CD146+ staining on CD45− cells, CD34 expression (flow cytometry, immunofluorescence), reduced proliferation (BrdU incorporation), and an impaired capacity to form capillary-like structures (Matrigel test), associated with an impaired angiogenic profile (immunofluorescence). These dysfunctions were associated with oxidative stress (increased superoxide anion levels (fluorescent dye), decreased superoxide dismutase protein expression, increased DNA damage (immunofluorescence), and stress-induced premature senescence (SIPS; increased beta-galactosidase activity, increased p16INK4a, and decreased sirtuin-1 protein expression). This study demonstrated an impaired functionality of ECFCs at adulthood associated with arterial hypertension in individuals born after IUGR.  相似文献

The electric performances of direct borohydride fuel cells (DBFCs) are evaluated in terms of power density and life time with respect to the NaBH4 concentration. A DBFC constituted of an anionic membrane, a 0.6 mgPt cm−2 anode and a commercial non-platinum based cathode led to performances as high as 200 mW cm−2 at room temperature and with natural convection of air. Electrochemical life time test at 0.55 mA cm−2 with a 5 M NaBH4/1 M NaOH solution shows a voltage diminution of 1 mV h−1 and a drastic drop of performances after 250 h. The life time is twice longer with 2 M NaBH4/1 M NaOH solution (450 h) and the voltage decrease is 0.5 mV h−1. Analyses of the components after life time tests indicate that voltage loss is mainly due to the degradation of the cathode performance. Crystallisation of carbonate and borate is observed at the cathode side, although the anionic membrane displays low permeability to borohydride.  相似文献
