Pioneering e-supply chain integration in semiconductor industry: a case study

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is the largest semiconductor foundry in the world. Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc. (ASE) is the world’s leader in semiconductor assembly and testing. From 1998 to 2004, the two companies completed electronic integration of 11 key business processes through the Internet. The result is a seamless interface between TSMC, ASE and their joint customers. They can now obtain accurate, timely information on their product status and respond appropriately when needed. While the direct economic benefits are estimated to be around US$ 10 million through productivity increase over a total investment of about US$ 2 million, the indirect benefits of this initiative could be on the order of US $100 million if the joint customers’ benefits are considered. In collaboration with the RosettaNet organization, TSMC and ASE leveraged their pioneering experiences to define three data exchange standards which can then be widely adopted in the semiconductor industry. This case study is a demonstration of how two leading companies in their respective fields can join forces to make a difference in creating value for the entire semiconductor industry, which in turn benefits society at large. With the momentum continuing to build and the sphere of influence continuing to expand, it is anticipated that TSMC, ASE and the entire sector will upgrade their competitiveness in terms of cost, quality, responsiveness and customer orientation.     

固体超强酸S_2O_8~(2-)/SnO_2-SiO_2催化合成环己酮1,2-丙二醇缩酮

采用沉淀-浸渍法制备了固体超强酸S2O28-/SnO2-SiO2,以它为催化剂催化环己酮和1,2-丙二醇合成了环己酮1,2-丙二醇缩酮;考察了带水剂种类及用量、酮醇摩尔比、催化剂用量、反应时间对产品收率的影响,并用正交实验对反应条件进行了优化。实验结果表明,适宜的反应条件为:n(环己酮)∶n(1,2-丙二醇)=1∶1.6、催化剂用量为反应物料总质量的2.0%、带水剂环己烷用量5.0mL、反应时间50min。在此条件下,环己酮1,2-丙二醇缩酮收率达到91.47%;催化剂的稳定性良好,在重复使用5次后环己酮1,2-丙二醇缩酮收率为82.20%,活性下降的主要原因为催化剂表面积碳和吸附了有机物;经傅里叶变换红外光谱和气相色谱质谱分析表明,产物为环己酮1,2-丙二醇缩酮,纯度为100%。

Lower bound on minimum lee distance of algebraic?geometric codes over finite fields

Algebraic-geometric (AG) codes over finite fields with respect to the Lee metric have been studied. A lower bound on the minimum Lee distance is derived, which is a Lee-metric version of the well-known Goppa bound on the minimum Hamming distance of AG codes. The bound generalises a lower bound on the minimum Lee distance of Lee-metric BCH and Reed-Solomon codes, which have been successfully used for protecting against bitshift and synchronisation errors in constrained channels and for error control in partial-response channels.

Processing, Microstructures, and Properties of Cr-Cr3Si, Nb-Nb3Si, and V-V3Si Eutectics

The present paper examines the potential of refractory metal-A15 silicide composites as structural materials for high temperature applications. Three eutectic systems are considered, Cr-Cr₃Si, Nb-Nb₃Si, and V-V3Si, since they all have melting points above 1700°C and densities lower than Ni-based superalloys. Eutectic compositions were selected because directional solidification of eutectics can be used to generate aligned composite microstructures. The present paper describes processing, microstructures and properties of directional ly solidified Cr-Cr₃Si, Nb-Nb₃Si, and V-V₃Si. Based on microstructural and chemical analyses, some phase diagram modifications are suggested. The orientation relationships between the refractory metal and A15-silicide phases were characterized using transmission electron microscopy. In the Cr-Cr₃Si eutectic a strong orientation relationship was observed; there was excellent lattice matching of the (110) in Cr and (210) in Cr₃Si. Room temperature and elevated temperature microhard-ness and fracture toughness are also reported; these indicate good strength retention in Nb-Nb₃Si at elevated temperatures.

介绍用磁控溅射制作的从大气往真空约覆盖5个量程的“绝对型”电容薄膜真空规，以及与该真空规配套的真空计的电路。该真空计测量范围为1．3～105Pd，真空规与电容信号检测电路置于同一金属壳内，以避免外界干扰。规的恒温胜温度波动小于±0．1℃，有效地降低了温度的影响。电路的非线性小于0．4％，高真空下北输出漂移小于0．1％，在13～105Pa各量程内，最大校准误差小于读数的4％。     

New multifunction filter using an inverting CCII and a voltagefollower

A new multifunction filter using minimum components is presented. This filter which possesses single input and four outputs can simultaneously generate second-order highpass, bandpass, and lowpass filtering functions at individual output terminals. The filter has the following merits; it uses only two grounded capacitors which makes it suitable for integrated circuit implementation, no matching condition is required, offering multifunction outputs and has low passive and active sensitivities. Experimental results agree very well with the theoretical result
