Increasing the contrast of just one eye's image degrades stereothresholds; this phenomenon is referred to as the stereo contrast paradox. In experiment one, this paradox was found to be absent in dynamic random-element stereograms; thresholds were simply limited by the lower of the two eyes' contrasts. In experiment two, in which narrowband Gabor targets were used, the paradox was found to be strongest at relatively low spatial frequencies (1 cycle deg-1). As spatial frequency was increased, the paradox gradually disappeared. At relatively high spatial frequencies (5 cycles deg-1), thresholds were generally limited by the lower of the two eyes' contrasts, as was found for the dynamic noise targets. These results demonstrate the interactions of spatial frequency and contrast in binocular image combination and yield clues as to the different roles which high and low spatial frequencies may play in stereopsis.  相似文献

WIN 63843, a Picornavirus replication inhibitor, is physically and chemically stable in the solid state, to light, elevated temperature, and humidity. This 3-ary15-trifluoromethyl disubstituted 1,2,4-oxadiazole compound has very low water solubility but is highly soluble in ethanol and in safflower seed and corn oils. Solubility in the vegetable oils is doubled by the synergistic effect of ethanol at the 16% alcohol concentration. Vegetuble oil solutions of WIN 63843 are thermally stable but react slowly in the presence of light resulting in an amidoxime compound (WIN 65489) formed by opening of the 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring. This reaction does not occur in oil solutions containing small concentrations of ethanol. Of biophannaceutical interest, the addition of ethanol or PEG-400 solutions of WIN 63843 to human gastric fluid resulted in oily droplet formation whereas crystals form upon addition of these solutions to water. Also, the compound is greater than 8,000 times more soluble in human gastric fluid.  相似文献

The discovery of neuroendocrine differentiation in hormone-refractory prostatic adenocarcinoma has opened a potentially new therapeutic approach in this group of patients with a poor prognosis and few effective therapy modalities. Based on previous findings of increased uptake of 11C-5-hydroxytryptophan (11C-5-HTP) in neuroendocrine tumours using the PET technique, this tracer was applied in the study of 10 patients with metastatic hormone-refractory prostatic adenocarcinoma. In three patients, the study was repeated after treatment. An increased uptake of 11C-5-HTP was observed in all investigated skeletal lesions, although the magnitude of the uptake was moderate. The difference between the standard uptake values (SUV) in normal bone and metastatic lesions was significant (p < 0.001). A kinetic analysis of the uptake of 11C-5-HTP demonstrates an increase during the first minutes followed by a wash-out and a stabilization of the tissue/blood ratio at about 2. The Patlak plots demonstrated a gradual increase in the transport rate during the first 20 to 30 min, after which a constant level was observed. The SUV varied between patients and between lesions over time and treatment. The uptake of 11C-5-HTP discriminates metastatic lesions from normal bone and may thus aid in the diagnosis and, potentially, in treatment monitoring of metastatic hormone-refractory prostatic adenocarcinoma. Uptake kinetics are characterized by a wash-out and cannot alone be used as proof of neuroendocrine differentiation in hormone-refractory prostatic adenocarcinoma.  相似文献

The production of a polymer containing basic functional groups via the reactive processing of polyethylene was investigated. Grafting of dimethylamino ethyl methacrylate, DMAEMA, to linear low-density polyethylene in the melt was carried out, and the effects of initiator type, feed composition, and reaction time and temperature were studied. The extent of grafting was determined by Fourier transform infrared and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the degree of cross-linking was observed by measuring the products' melt indices. Thermal stability of the product was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry. Materials containing up to 3 wt% of grafted DMAEMA were prepared. The choice of appropriate feed compositions and reaction conditions allows the production of a material containing the maximum amount of grafted DMAEMA, while minimizing cross-linking. The grafted polyethylene produced under these conditions is more stable than the starting material, suggesting an antioxidant effect of the grafted moieties. The functional polymer produced should be of interest for the preparation of polymer blends with acidic polymers by virtue of the miscibility enhancement that could occur as compared with the hydrocarbon precursor.  相似文献

A new form of FET has been demonstrated in the GaAs/AlGaAs material system. Designated the HFET, it has shown a transconductance of 500mS/mm at 300K for a nominal Lg =2?m and a drain current of 430mA/mm. The conduction occurs in an inversion channel at the heterointerface.  相似文献
