Failure diagnosability has been widely studied for discrete event system (DES) models because of modeling simplicity and computational
efficiency due to abstraction. In the literature it is often held that for diagnosability, such models can be used not only
for systems that fall naturally in the class of DES but also for the ones traditionally treated as continuous variable dynamic
systems. A class of algorithms for failure diagnosability of DES models has been successfully developed for systems where
fairness is not a part of the model. These algorithms are based on detecting cycles in the normal and the failure model that
look identical. However, there exist systems with all transitions fair where the diagnosability condition that hinges upon
this feature renders many failures non-diagnosable although they may actually be diagnosable by transitions out of a cycle.
Hence, the diagnosability conditions based on cycle detection need to be modified to hold for many real-world systems where
all transitions are fair. In this work, however, it is shown by means of an example that a system may have some transitions
fair and some unfair. A new failure diagnosability mechanism is proposed for DES models with both fair and unfair transitions.
Time complexity for deciding diagnosability of DES models with fair and unfair transitions is analyzed and compared with the

In recent past, wavelet packet (WP) based speech enhancement techniques have been gaining popularity due to their inherent nature of noise minimization. WP based techniques appeared as more robust and efficient than short-time Fourier transform based methods. In the present work, a speech enhancement method using Teager energy operated equal rectangular bandwidth (ERB)-like WP decomposition has been proposed. Twenty four sub-band perceptual wavelet packet decomposition (PWPD) structure is implemented according to the auditory ERB scale. ERB scale based decomposition structure is used because the central frequency of the ERB scale distribution is similar to the frequency response of the human cochlea. Teager energy operator is applied to estimate the threshold value for the PWPD coefficients. Lastly, Wiener filtering is applied to remove the low frequency noise before final reconstruction stage. The proposed method has been applied to evaluate the Hindi sentences database, corrupted with six noise conditions. The proposed method’s performance is analysed with respect to several speech quality parameters and output signal to noise ratio levels. Performance indicates that the proposed technique outperforms some traditional speech enhancement algorithms at all SNR levels. 相似文献

Summary Theoretical and experimental analyses have been carried out for determining the injection condition below which the formation of air core does not take place in the course of flow of a time-independent power-law fluid through a swirl nozzle. Analytical solution lends one distinct value of generalized Reynolds number at the inlet to a nozzle below which the air core is not formed. Experiments reveal that there exist two limiting values of such generalized Reynolds number regarding the formation of air core in a nozzle. One value being the upper limit below which steady flow occurs without air core, the other one is the lower limit above which steady flow with fully developed air core persists. In between these two limiting values, there prevails a transition zone through which fully developed air core is set up within the nozzle. For all the nozzles, theoretical results are in fair agreement with the experimental values of upper limit of generalized Reynolds numbers with respect to steady flow without air core. Amongst all the pertinent independent geometrical parameters of a nozzle, the orifice-to-swirl chamber-diameter ratio has the remarkable influence on generalized Reynolds number describing the initiation of air core.Nomenclature

Abstract Water crisis was not considered seriously at the Dublin and Rio conferences. It was put on the world agenda primarily by the Stockholm Water Symposia. Water management is likely to change more during the next twenty years compared to the past 2,000 years. The paper reviews the global water situtation based on the latest data available. In terms of water availability, it concludes that one can now be cautiously optimistic of the global water future. If there is to be a crisis, it is likely to be for two reasons: water quality and lack of investments. Neither of these two issues are receiving adquate attention at present. The electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficients have been measured from room temperature to 500° C for polycrystalline V2O5 and V2O5 doped with lithium and sodium in the -phase range. The conductivity increases with doping and the energy of activation decreases. The Seebeck coefficient indicates that electrons are the majority carriers. Nanocomposites of polyfuran (PF) and polythiophene (PTP) with montmorillonite clay (MMT) were prepared and modified by loading
of polyaniline (PANI) and polypyrrole (PPY) moieties via polymerization of aniline (ANI) and pyrrole (PY) in aqueous dispersions
of PF-MMT and PTP-MMT nanocomposites. Formation of PANI and PPY and their subsequent incorporation in the PF-MMT and PTP-MMT
composites was confirmed by FTIR absorption studies. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of PANI and PPY modified PF-MMT and
PTP-MMT composites showed that PF-MMT and PTP-MMT intercalates were still present in the modified composites. Scanning electron
microscopic analysis revealed distinctive morphological patterns of the various composite particles. The dc conductivity values

A novel approach has been taken to produce (1) spherical Al2O3 particles by decarbonisation and (2) spherical AlN particles by nitridation and subsequent decarbonisation of C@Al2O3 composite particles. C@Al2O3 composite particles have been prepared by heterogeneous nucleation and crystallisation of Al(NO3)3 on surfactant encapsulated carbon nano particles followed by evaporative decomposition of the nitrate. Overpressure (0.4 MPa) of nitrogen and a temperature range (1723–1873 K) have been used for nitridation. Whiskers as well as spherical particles of AlN have been observed in the final product. The final product has been characterised by X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope and Carbon–Hydrogen–Nitrogen content analysis by Elemental Analyser and the mechanism of the nitridation reaction has been analysed. The average size of the spherical AlN particles consisting of crystallites in nano-dimensions (30–50 nm) could be varied from 100 nm to 8 μm by changing the composition of the sol. 相似文献

Digital watermarking is becoming more and more important for protecting the authenticity of multimedia objects as they become easier to copy, exchange, and modify. Several watermarking schemes have been proposed in recent years, but most of them deal with still images, only some being extended over to the temporal domain for video watermarking. But again most of those approaches are applied to uncompressed video processing domain. In the subject paper, a new compressed video watermarking procedure is proposed. The developed method embeds several binary images, decomposed from a single watermark image, into different scenes of a video sequence. The spatial spread spectrum watermark is embedded directly into the compressed bit streams by modifying discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients. In order to embed the watermark with minimum loss in image fidelity, a visual mask based on local image characteristics is incorporated. Extensive experimental simulations demonstrate that the proposed watermarking scheme is substantially more effective and robust against spatial attacks such as scaling, rotation, frame averaging, and filtering, besides temporal attacks like frame dropping and temporal shifting. 相似文献

Simultaneous influence of market power structure, advertising and quality efforts on the optimal pricing decisions and performance of a multi-echelon supply chain under uncertainty have received scant attention in the literature. We focus on this gap by examining a serial decentralised three-echelon supply chain consisting of a supplier, a manufacturer and a retailer. The uncertainty associated with customer demand, marginal production costs and effort costs is expressed as linguistic or fuzzy variables. We analyse centralised supply chain to obtain all benchmark parameters. We investigate four decentralised supply chain cases through fuzzy game theoretic approach. We compare among three Stackelberg games with various supply chain leaderships and a vertical Nash. Our key findings are as follows. First, the manufacturer puts least quality effort while retailer puts least advertising effort when they act as Stackelberg leader in a three-echelon supply chain. Second, supplier's per unit price is governed by the channel leadership in three-echelon supply chain while retail prices are less affected by the leadership. We investigate the impact of fuzzy degree of quality and advertising sensitivity on optimal profit distribution among agents. We present numerical analysis to illustrate the importance of the derived theoretical results and discuss additional managerial insights. 相似文献
