Based onin-situ Mössbauer and X-ray diffraction studies, it is shown that in the Fe/TiO2 catalyst, the anatase-rutile transformation of the TiO2 support is facilitated by the Fe2+ ions formed during the reduction. The transformation occurs at lower temperatures in Th/TiO2 and Cu/TiO2 compared to pure TiO2. In general, the transformation of anatase to rutile seems to occur at or below the temperature (770 K) at which strong-metal-support-interaction manifests itself.Contribution No. 718 from the Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit.  相似文献

Blends of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and ethylene-co-methyl acrylate (EMA) having 60/40 composition was studied with and without compatibilizing agent. The compatibilizing agent used was maleic anhydride grafted linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE-g-MA). The LLDPE backbones of the compatibilizer are compatible with LLDPE blend component, whereas the maleic anhydride is affinated with carbonyl groups of EMA. The effectiveness of the compatibilizing agent was evaluated using different techniques like mechanical, thermal, scanning electron microscopy and rheological studies. Best compatibilization effect was found in the blend at a loading of 3 wt% of compatibilizer since at this level of compatibilizer complex viscosity, tensile strength, modulus, elongation at break, impact strength was found to be higher. The increase in the melt viscosity, storage modulus and thermal stability of the compatibilized blends indicated enhanced interactions between the discrete LLDPE and EMA phases induced by the functional compatibilizer.  相似文献

Heat transfer coefficients were measured for 227 and 87 micron size particles of silica sand in a 102 mm dia. and 5.5 m tall circulating fluidized bed made of plexiglass. Effects of solid circulation rate, fluidization velocity, bed density and particle sizes were studied. The heat transfer coefficients were calculated from the temperatures measured along the axis of a 25 mm dia 100 mm long cylindrical heat flux meter.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline La0.9Sr0.1Al0.85Co0.05Mg0.1O3 oxide powder was synthesized by a citrate–nitrate auto-ignition process and characterized by thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, and impedance spectroscopy measurements. Nanocrystalline (50–100 nm) powder with perovskite structure could be produced at 900°C by this process. The powder could be sintered to a density more than 96% of the theoretical density at 1550°C. Impedance measurements on the sintered samples unequivocally established the potential of this process in developing nanostructured lanthanum aluminate-based oxides. The sintered La0.9Sr0.1Al0.85Co0.05Mg0.1O3 sample exhibited a conductivity of 2.40 × 10−2 S/cm in air at 1000°C compared with 4.9 × 10−3 S/cm exhibited by La0.9Sr0.1Al0.85Mg0.15O3.  相似文献

Bone, a natural composite, comprises non-stoichiometric calcium hydroxyapatite (HAp) precipitated in a controlled reaction environment of a highly aligned, anisotropic organic template (type I collagen) that leads to its exotic tensile and compressive strength. It differs from stoichiometric hydroxyapatite in composition, crystallinity, and other physical and mechanical properties. In the present study, functionalized biomolecular template-induced precipitation of HAp on an SS 316 L substrate following biomimetic route exhibits distinct alterations in crystal growth and geometry, which in turn indicates the potential of the process to develop a non-stoichiometric HAp coating on metal implants.  相似文献

The densification of non-oxide ceramics like titanium boride (TiB2) has always been a major challenge. The use of metallic binders to obtain a high density in liquid phase-sintered borides is investigated and reported. However, a non-metallic sintering additive needs to be used to obtain dense borides for high-temperature applications. This contribution, for the first time, reports the sintering, microstructure, and properties of TiB2 materials densified using a MoSi2 sinter-additive. The densification experiments were carried out using a hot-pressing and pressureless sintering route. The binderless densification of monolithic TiB2 to 98% theoretical density with 2–5 μm grain size was achieved by hot pressing at 1800°C for 1 h in vacuum. The addition of 10–20 wt% MoSi2 enables us to achieve 97%–99%ρth in the composites at 1700°C under similar hot-pressing conditions. The densification mechanism is dominated by liquid-phase sintering in the presence of TiSi2. In the pressureless sintering route, a maximum of 90%ρth is achieved after sintering at 1900°C for 2 h in an (Ar+H2) atmosphere. The hot-pressed TiB2–10 wt% MoSi2 composites exhibit high Vickers hardness (∼26–27 GPa) and modest indentation toughness (∼4–5 MPa·m1/2).  相似文献

The use of textile-grade fiber extracted from the Indian pineapple leaf is an unexplored area. Pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) is fine, soft, and moderately strong and is much acceptable for fashion garment. An attempt has been made to extract and soften Indian PALF from the pineapple leaves by decortication and subsequent water retting. Decorticated cum retted fiber has shown better physicomechanical and surface appearance properties than decorticated fiber. Fine yarn (38 tex) was spun in a suitable spinning system, and the property performance was found to be suitable to make eco-sustainable novelty fabric. Fabric was developed by using cotton as warp yarn and PALF-based yarn as weft in a handloom. The developed fabric shows very good physical and mechanical properties, desired for apparels. This inferred that Indian PALF may be successfully used to make eco-niche apparel quality fabric as well as novelty textiles.  相似文献

Rhenium disulfide (ReS2) differs fundamentally from other group‐VI transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) due to its low structural symmetry, which results in its optical and electrical anisotropy. Although vertical growth is observed in some TMDs under special growth conditions, vertical growth in ReS2 is very different in that it is highly spontaneous and substrate‐independent. In this study, the mechanism that underpins the thermodynamically favorable vertical growth mode of ReS2 is uncovered. It is found that the governing mechanism for ReS2 growth involves two distinct stages. In the first stage, ReS2 grows parallel to the growth substrate, consistent with conventional TMD growth. However, subsequent vertical growth is nucleated at points on the lattice where Re atoms are “pinched” together. At such sites, an additional Re atom binds with the cluster of pinched Re atoms, leaving an under‐coordinated S atom protruding out of the ReS2 plane. This under‐coordinated S is “reactive” and binds to free Re and S atoms, initiating growth in a direction perpendicular to the ReS2 surface. The utility of such vertical ReS2 arrays in applications where high surface‐to‐volume ratio and electric‐field enhancement are essential, such as surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, field emission, and solar‐based disinfection of bacteria, is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this study, a control method is proposed to improve the harmonic suppression efficiency of the single-phase active power filter in a distorted power system to suppress current harmonics and reactive power. The proposed method uses the self-tuning filter (STF) algorithm to process single-phase grid voltage in order to provide a uniform reference grid current, which increases the efficiency of the system. The results of the simulation study are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control technique in this study.  相似文献
