We describe a nickel‐catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura arylation of a tertiary iodocyclopropane with arylboronic acids; this is an efficient and convergent strategy for providing various enantioenriched arylcyclopropanes with a quaternary stereogenic center. This is the first metal‐catalyzed coupling between a tertiary alkyl electrophile and a wide range of aromatics, including heteroaromatics. We found that the outcome of the Ni‐catalyzed coupling with halides as electrophiles was dependent on the stability of the radical species formed during the reaction. The use of tert‐butyl alcohol (t‐BuOH) as the reaction solvent was very effective, because of its stability under the radical‐generating reaction conditions.

Microporous polypropylene fibers were prepared by stretching polypropylene fibers containing poly(methylsilsesquioxane) filler. The properties of the resultant fibers are controllable by adjusting the filler content and stretching degree. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a potential substitute for conventional metallic biomedical implants owing to its superior mechanical and chemical properties, as well as biocompatibility. However, its inherent bio-inertness and poor osseointegration limit its use in clinical applications. Herein, thin titanium films were deposited on the PEEK substrate by plasma sputtering, and porous nanonetwork structures were incorporated on the PEEK surface by alkali treatment (PEEK-TNS). Changes in the physical and chemical characteristics of the PEEK surface were analyzed to establish the interactions with cell behaviors. The osteoimmunomodulatory properties were evaluated using macrophage cells and osteoblast lineage cells. The functionalized nanostructured surface of PEEK-TNS effectively promoted initial cell adhesion and proliferation, suppressed inflammatory responses, and induced macrophages to anti-inflammatory M2 polarization. Compared with PEEK, PEEK-TNS provided a more beneficial osteoimmune environment, including increased levels of osteogenic, angiogenic, and fibrogenic gene expression, and balanced osteoclast activities. Furthermore, the crosstalk between macrophages and osteoblast cells showed that PEEK-TNS could provide favorable osteoimmunodulatory environment for bone regeneration. PEEK-TNS exhibited high osteogenic activity, as indicated by alkaline phosphatase activity, osteogenic factor production, and the osteogenesis/osteoclastogenesis-related gene expression of osteoblasts. The study establishes that the fabrication of titanate nanonetwork structures on PEEK surfaces could extract an adequate immune response and favorable osteogenesis for functional bone regeneration. Landfill bioreactors (LBRs) with management of leachate and biogas have presented numerous advantages such as accelerated stabilization of solid wastes, reduced amount of leachate, and in situ leachate treatment. Such advantages have minimized environmental risks, have allowed extension of the useful life of the landfill site, and have fostered cost reduction. LBRs of three types have been developed using both anaerobic and aerobic modes: anaerobic, aerobic, and hybrid. Microorganisms in landfills cause various reactions related with organic fractions and heavy metals. Such functions have been stimulated in LBRs by recirculation of leachate with or without aeration. To date, most studies of microorganisms in LBRs have analyzed bacteria and archaea based on 16S rRNA genes and have analyzed fungi based on 18S rRNA genes from a taxonomical viewpoint. Indicator genes for specific functions in LBRs such as nitrification, denitrification, and methane production have also been monitored. The population dynamics of microorganisms in LBRs have been partially clarified, but the obtained data remain limited because of highly heterogeneous features of solid wastes inside LBRs. Systematic monitoring of microorganisms should be established to improve LBR performance. 相似文献

Nonlinear sorption by natural organic matter may have a significant impact on the behavior of organic contaminants in soils and sediments. This study presents a molecular probe approach based on linear solvation energy relationships (LSERs) to identify and quantify the molecular interactions causing concentration-dependent sorption and proposes estimation methods for sorption nonlinearities. Sorption isotherms ranging over concentrations of more than 4 orders of magnitude were determined in batch systems for 23 and 16 chemically diverse probe compounds in a lignite sample and a peat soil, respectively. Each sorbent showed characteristic nonlinear sorption with Freundlich exponents (1/n) being 0.7-1. The LSER-based analysis revealed that the strength of nonspecific interactions did not vary with concentration for both sorbents. In lignite, specific interactions did not affect sorption nonlinearity either, suggesting that compound-independent factors of lignite were responsible for the nonlinear sorption. In the peat soil, by contrast, the specific interactions related to the solute polarizability/dipolarity parameter (S) decreased with increasing concentration. Consequently, compounds of higher S values were more susceptible to nonlinear sorption in the peat soil. Phenol probes have shown that hydrogen bond donating properties of sorbate compounds have a substantial impact on the overall strength of sorption with organic matter, but no significant influence on sorption nonlinearity. Heterocyclic aromatic compounds appear to undergo additional interactions that are not accounted for by the LSER. These additional interactions considerably enhance both sorption capacity and nonlinearity. 相似文献

The purpose of the study was to examine the fatty acid profiles of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) submitted to different feeding times (0, 10, 20 and 30 days) on a diet enriched with n-3 fatty acids, by addition of flaxseed oil in substitution for sunflower oil. The main fatty acids detected were palmitic (C16:0), stearic (C18:0), oleic (C18:1n9), linoleic (C18:2n6) and -linolenic (C18:3n3) in all the treatments. The 30 day-fed fish presented the best values for total n-3 fatty acids, with a prominence of -linolenic acids, showing that the flaxseed oil as well as the feed supply time influenced the fatty acid profiles. 相似文献

The success rate is generally higher when cloning mice from embryonic stem (ES) cell nuclei than from somatic cell nuclei, suggesting that the embryonic nature or the undifferentiated state of the donor cell increases cloning efficiency. We assessed the developmental ability of cloned embryos derived from cultured neural stem cell (NSC) nuclei and compared the success rate with that of embryos cloned from other donor cells such as differentiated NSCs, cumulus cells, Sertoli cells and ES cells in the mouse. The transfer of two-cell cloned embryos derived from cultured NSC nuclei into surrogate mothers produced five live cloned mice. However, the success rate (0.5%) was higher in embryos cloned from cultured NSC nuclei than from differentiated NSCs (0%), but lower than that obtained by cloning mice from other cell nuclei (2.2-3.5%). Although the in vitro developmental potential to the two-cell stage of the cloned embryos derived from NSC nuclei (73%) was similar to that of the cloned embryos derived from other somatic cell nuclei (e.g., 85% in Sertoli cells and 75% in cumulus cells), the developmental rate to the morula-blastocyst stage was only 7%. This rate is remarkably lower than that produced from other somatic cells (e.g., 50% in Sertoli cells and 54% in cumulus cells). These results indicate that the undifferentiated state of neural cells does not enhance the cloning efficiency in mice and that the arrest point for in vitro development of cloned embryos depends on the donor cell type. 相似文献

The extraction equilibria of Am(III) and Eu(III) by using a tripodal ligand, tris(2‐pyridylmethyl)amine (tpa), with various lipophilic anions have been investigated. The extractability of both Am(III) and Eu(III) was increased by the combination of tpa and counteranions due to a synergistic effect. The separation factors between Am(III) and Eu(III) were also increased from 7.6 to 49 by the combination of counteranions and organic solvents. The extraction equilibria of Am(III) and Eu(III) with tpa in 1,2‐dichloroethane were determined by slope analysis. It was found that three anions and one molecule of the ligand coordinated to Am(III) and Eu(III) was extracted regardless of the anions. 相似文献

An LC/MS method was developed for the determination of acrylamide (AA) in processed or cooked foods. AA was extracted with a mixture of water and acetone from homogenized food samples after the addition of 13C-labeled acrylamide (AA-1-(13)C) as an internal standard. The extract was concentrated, washed with dichloromethane for defatting, and cleaned up on Bond Elut C18, PSA and ACCUCAT cartridge-columns, and then AA was determined by LC/MS in the selected ion recording (SIR) mode. For the LC/MS analysis, four LC columns were connected in-line and the flow of the mobile phase was switched according to a time-program. Monitoring ions for AA were m/z 72 and 55, and those for AA-1-(13)C were m/z 73 and 56. AA and AA-1-(13)C were determined without interference from the matrices in all samples. The recoveries of AA from potato chips, corn snack, pretzel and roasted tea spiked at the level of 500 ng/g of AA were 99.5-101.0% with standard deviations (SD) in the range from 0.3 to 1.6%. The limits of detection and quantification of the developed method were 9 and 30 ng/g for AA in samples, respectively. The method was applied to the analysis of AA in various processed or cooked food samples purchased from retail markets. High levels of AA were found in potato chips and French-fried potato (467-3,544 ng/g). Fried and sugar-coated dough cakes (karinto) contained 374 and 1,895 ng/g. Corn snacks contained 117-535 ng/g of AA. Roasted foods (such as roasted sesame seed, roasted barley (mugi-cha), roasted tea (hoji-cha), coffee beans and curry powder) contained 116-567 ng/g of AA. Foods made from fish, egg and meat contained lower levels of AA than the plant-based foods. Foods containing much water showed a tendency to have low levels of AA compared with dry foods. The proposed method was applicable to the analysis of AA in variety of processed foods. 相似文献
