The anti-arthritic effects of epoxyquinomicins on type II collagen-induced arthritis in DBA/1J mice were examined. Prophylactic treatment with epoxyquinomicins A, B, C and D (1-4 mg/kg) had potent inhibitory effects on type II collagen-induced arthritis. In contrast to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), epoxyquinomicin C (1-30 mg/kg) had neither an anti-inflammatory effect on carrageenan-induced paw edema in rats nor an analgesic effect on acetic acid-induced writhing in mice. These results suggest that the mode of action of epoxyquinomicins is different from that of NSAIDs and that epoxyquinomicins may become useful drugs for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. 相似文献

The conductivities of polyethylene obtained by different authors have been scattered over many orders of magnitude, and their activation energies have also varied from about 0.4 to 1.7 eV. To deduce a general rule for the data, using the available data so far published, the plot of the logarithm of the pre-exponential factor against the activation energy was made. This paper deals with a three-dimensional stress analysis of adhesive butt joints of similar solid cylinders subjected to external tensile loads. Similar adherends and an adhesive bond are replaced with finite solid cylinders in the analysis. Stress distributions on adhesive joints are analyzed strictly by using the three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The effects of stiffness, thickness and Poisson's ratio of the adhesive bonds and of external load distribution on the normal and the shear stress distributions are shown by numerical calculations. The stress distributions of single-lap adhesive joints of dissimilar adherends subjected to external bending moments are analyzed as a three-body contact problem by using a two-dimensional theory of elasticity (plane strain). In the analysis, dissimilar adherends and an adhesive are replaced by finite strips. In the numerical calculations, the effects of the ratio of Young's moduli of adherends, the adherend thickness ratio and the adherend length ratio between dissimilar adherends on the stress distributions at the interfaces are examined. The results show that the stress singularity occurs at the ends of the interfaces, and its intensity is greater at the interface of the adherend with smaller Young's modulus. It is also noted that the singular stress is greater at the interface of the thinner adherend. It is found that the effect of the adherend length ratio on the stress singularity at the interfaces is very small. Joint strength is predicted by using the interface stress and it was measured by experiments. From the analysis and the experiments, it is found that the joint strength increases as Young's modulus of adherends and the adherend thickness increase while the effect of the adherend lengths on the joint strength is small. For verification of the analysis, a finite element analysis (FEA) is carried out. A fairly good agreement of the interface stress distribution is seen between the analytical and the FEA results. 相似文献

Polymerization of β-lactoglobulin and bovine serum albumin at the oil—water interfaces in n-tetradecane-in-water emulsions induced by the transglutaminase reaction was studied. The emulsions were incubated with transglutaminase for various times, and adsorbed and unadsorbed protein fractions at the oil—water interfaces were analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate—polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. While only monomers were detected in the unadsorbed fractions, polymers were observed in the adsorbed fractions of the both proteins. The sizes and amounts of the polymers increased with incubation time. The incubation with transglutaminase caused much flocculation of the emulsion stabilized by β-lactoglobulin. An increase in viscosity was also observed with the flocculation. The flocculation was probably initiated by the formation of ε-(γ-glutamyl)-lysyl isopeptide bonds between β-lactoglobulin molecules adsorbed on different oil droplets. In the case of the emulsion stabilized by bovine serum albumin, however, the flocculation and the increase in viscosity occurred to only limited extents by the transglutaminase reaction. This suggests that ε-(γ-glutamyl)-lysyl isopeptide bonds induced by the transglutaminase reaction were formed only between neighboring molecules of bovine serum albumin on the same droplet. 相似文献
