The cure kinetics of a thermally mendable polymer based on Diels-Alder (DA) and retro-Diels-Alder (rDA) reactions, mendomer 401, was investigated using dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The resulting behavior was modeled using a conventional cure kinetic model for thermosetting polymers. A composite panel with two layers of carbon fabric and mendomer 401 was fabricated following the cure cycle suggested by the cure kinetics model. Micro-indentation tests were performed to investigate mechanical properties and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) was conducted to study thermal behavior and to find the trigger temperature for healing. Self-healing behavior of the carbon fiber/mendomer composite was demonstrated using electrical resistive heating over the glass transition temperature.  相似文献

Electro-micromechanical techniques, wettability test, and acoustic emission (AE) were use to compare self-sensing and stress-transferring effects in single carbon fiber embedded in carbon nanofiber (CNF)–epoxy composites with two different aspect ratios. Electrical resistivity and standard deviation were used as indirect measures of comparative dispersion degree of CNF. The dispersion was observed to decrease with increasing CNF content due to an increase in the electrical contacts. Composites with higher aspect ratio exhibited better self-sensing than lower aspect ratio case. This was attributed to differences in dispersion, orientation, coagulation of CNF with different aspect ratios. The opposite effect was observed for apparent Young’s modulus, which was larger for composites with lower aspect ratio. This is probably related to better stress transfer linked to orientation effects. Work of adhesion consistently followed same trend as apparent Young’s modulus. Single carbon fiber pull-out tests and AE provided additional information on the effects of aspect ratio.  相似文献

The fracture of ductile materials such as Al6061-T6 usually starts from void nucleation. In this study, we investigated strengthening effect and stress triaxiality behavior in notched Al alloy specimens. Various specimens, one un-notched and two with different U-types of notch, one with large diameter (L-notched) and another with small diameter (S-notched), having the same width were selected. The distribution of strain in the full-field was examined using the digital image correlation (DIC) method. Under the tensile test, S-notched specimens showed a more pronounced strengthening effect than the L-notched specimens. The results of DIC confirmed that the notch tip of the S-notched specimen experienced high strain, while the L-notched specimen experienced high strain at the center. The maximum stress triaxiality moved rapidly from the notch tip to the center with the increase in notch radius over 10 mm. The results of the stress triaxiality analysis by finite element method were in good agreement with the above DIC measurement results and predicted the void generation and fracture sites in L-notched and S-notched specimens.  相似文献

The effect on the growth kinetics of the intermetallic compounds (IMCs) in solder/Cu joints, caused by adding Bi to eutectic Sn-3.5Ag solder alloy, was examined at the aging temperatures of 150°C and 180°C. The Cu6Sn5 layer growth was significantly enhanced, but the Cu3Sn layer growth was slightly retarded by the addition of Bi, resulting in significant growth enhancement of the total (Cu6Sn5+Cu3Sn) IMC layer with increasing Bi addition. The IMC layer growth in the Bi-containing solder joints was accompanied by the accumulation of Bi ahead of the Cu6Sn5 layer that resulted in the formation of a liquid layer at the Cu6Sn5/solder interface. A kinetic model was developed for the planar growth of the Cu6Sn5 and Cu3Sn layers in the solder joints, accounting for the existence of interfacial reaction barriers. Predictions from the kinetic model showed that the experimental results could be well explained by the hypothesis that the formation of a Bi-rich liquid layer at the Cu6Sn5/solder interface reduces the interfacial reaction barrier at the interface.  相似文献

A low energy N2 ? ion beam impinged on a α-Al2O3(0001) single crystal surface in the range of fluence 5×1015/cm2?1×1018/cm2 at room temperature. After ion bombardment, chemical bonding on the modified sapphire surface was investigated by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Below a fluence of 1×1015/cm2, only a non-bonded N1s peak at the binding energy 398.7 eV was found, but further irradiation up to 2×1017/cm2 induced Al?O?N bonding at around 403 eV. The occurrence of Al?N bonding was identified at ion fluence higher than 5×1017/cm2 at 396.6 eV. II–VI ZnO thin films were grown on an untreated/ion-beam-induced sapphire surface by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) for the investigation of the modified-substrate effect on photoluminescence. The ZnO films grown on modified sapphire containing Al?O?N bonding only, and both Al?O?N and Al?N bonding showed a significant reduction of the peak related to deep-level defects in photoluminescence. These results are explained in terms of the formation of Al?N?O and Al?O?N layers and relaxation of the interfacial strain between Al2O3 and ZnO.  相似文献

The as-sintered Zn1−xTixO (0.01 ≤ x ≤ 0.05) samples contained a solid solution of Zn1−xTixO with a wurtzite structure and a small amount of the cubic spinel Zn2TiO4. The amount of Zn2TiO4 increased with an increase in TiO2 content. The density and grain size increased with the small TiO2 content (≤0.01), and then they decreased gradually by further increasing the TiO2 content. The addition of TiO2 to ZnO led to a significant increase in the electrical conductivity and a decrease in the absolute value of the Seebeck coefficient, resulting in an increase in the power factor. The highest value of power factor (7.6 × 10−4 W m−1 K−2) was attained for Zn0.98Ti0.02O at 1073 K. It is demonstrated that the TiO2 addition is fairly effective for enhancing thermoelectric properties.  相似文献

We investigated the effects of perilla oil containing a high level of α-linolenic acid onin vivo phospholipid metabolism, particularly three subclasses of choline glycerophospholipids (CGP) and ethanolamine glycerophospholipids (EGP), in rat kidney. After three weeks of feeding, a significantly lower proportion (by 35%) of the alkylacyl subclass of CGP was found in the perilla oil, as compared to corn oil-fed animals. The alkylacyl species of EGP was also higher in the perilla oil than in the corn oil-fed animals. These alterations were accompanied by a remarkably lower proportion of arachidonic acid and a higher level of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in all six subclasses of CGP and EGP in the perilla oil-fed animals. The levels of linoleic acid were even higher in the diacyl subclasses of CGP and EGP in the perilla oil group, suggesting that desaturase and elongase enzymes prefer n−3 to n−6 fatty acids as substrates for diacyl species. These data are useful in defining the effects of α-linolenic acid on the biosynthesis of renal phospholipids and on the replacement of n−6 with n−3 fatty acids in the six CGP and EGP subclasses.  相似文献

Much SO2, another perilous air pollutant, was emitted during the oxidative regeneration of sulfided sorbent by H2S. In order to prevent emission of SO2, we carried out oxidative regeneration with the physical mixture of CaO and sulfided sorbent and investigated the effect of regeneration temperature and oxygen concentration on the reactivity of CaO with S02. The effluent gases were analyzed by G.C. and the properties of sorbent were characterized by XRD. SEM, TG/DTA and EPMA. Deterioration of reactivity of CaO with S02 resulted in increment of emission of SO12 due to the structural changes of CaO above 750°C and that at 850°C was more severe. Furthermore EPMA and XRD analysis revealed that product layer diffusion through the solid product, CaSO4, was the rate limiting step for CaO sulfidation. The reaction of CaO w:.th SO2 was first order approximately and that was accelerated by high O2 concentration.  相似文献
