Nanostructuring has significantly contributed to alleviating the huge volume expansion problem of the Ge anodes. However, the practical use of nanostructured Ge anodes has been hindered due to several problems including a low tap density, poor scalability, and severe side reactions. Therefore, micrometer-sized Ge is desirable for practical use of Ge-based anode materials. Here, micronized Ge3N4 with a high tap density of 1.1 mg cm−2 has been successfully developed via a scalable wet oxidation and a subsequent nitridation process of commercially available micrometer-sized Ge as the starting material. The micronized Ge3N4 shows much-suppressed volume expansion compared to micrometer-sized Ge. After the carbon coating process, a thin carbon layer (≈3 nm) is uniformly coated on the micronized Ge3N4, which significantly improves electrical conductivity. As a result, micronized Ge3N4@C shows high reversible capacity of 924 mAh g−1 (2.1 mAh cm−2) with high mass loading of 3.5 mg cm−2 and retains 91% of initial capacity after 300 cycles at a rate of 0.5 C. Additionally, the effectiveness of Ge3N4@C as practical anodes is comprehensively demonstrated for the full cell, showing stable cycle retention and especially excellent rate capability, retaining 47% of its initial capacity at 0.2 C for 12 min discharge/charge condition.  相似文献

The use of copper wire for semiconductor package assembly has been gradually gaining acceptance throughout the industry over the last decade. Although copper has several advantages over gold for wire bonding applications, the manufacturing difficulties using copper wire have made high volume, fine pitch copper bonding slow to materialize. In recent years with the spike in gold prices, copper wire has become even more attractive, and this has driven many studies on the topic.Due to the propensity for copper to work harden upon deformation, which occurs during the ball bonding process as the capillary tip smashes the ball into the bond pad, a high amount of stress is transferred into the bond pad structure. This can result in catastrophic defects such as dielectric cracking or pad cratering. The current study aims to quantify the level of underlying bond pad damage with respect to various bond pad metallization and barrier layer schemes. A first bond parameter optimization was completed on each experimental group. The results indicate that barrier layer structure and composition have a significant impact on the presence of pad cratering. The experimental group containing only TiN as the barrier material showed a high occurrence of cratering, while groups with Ti and TiW barrier metals showed no cratering, even if a TiN layer was on top of the Ti. The bond pad metal thickness, on the other hand, does not appear to play a significant role in the prevention of bond pad cratering. Metal thickness values ranging from 0.825 to 2.025 μm were evaluated, and none had bond pad cratering other than the group with TiN as the barrier metal. In addition to the first bond parameter evaluations with various bond pad and barrier metal combinations, the initial free air ball (FAB) optimization is discussed.  相似文献

To investigate effects of diurnal thermal cycles on C-band polarimetric backscatter and millimeter-wave emission from sea ice, the authors carried out a winter experiment at the outdoor geophysical research facility (GRF) in the cold regions research and engineering laboratory (CRREL), the ice sheet grew from open sea water to a thickness of 10 cm in 2.5 days, during which they took polarimetric backscatter data with a C-band scatterometer, interlaced with brightness temperature measurements at 90 GHz in conjunction with meteorological and sea ice characterizations. The initial ice growth in the late morning was slow due to high insolation. As the air temperature dropped during the night, the growth rate increased significantly. Air temperature changed drastically from about -12 to -36°C between day and night, the diurnal thermal cycle repeated itself the next day and the growth rate varied in the same manner. Ice temperature profiles clearly show the diurnal response in the ice sheet with a lag of 2.5 h behind the time of the maximum short-wave incident solar radiation. The diurnal cycles are also evident in the millimeter-wave brightness temperature data, measured sea ice backscatter revealed substantial diurnal variations up to 6 dB with repeatable cycles in synchronization with the temperature cycles and the brightness temperature modulations, the diurnal cycles in backscatter indicate that the dominant scattering mechanism related to thermodynamic processes in sea ice is reversible, a diurnal backscatter model based on sea ice electrodynamics and thermodynamics explains the observed diurnal signature. This work shows that diurnal effects are important for inversion algorithms to retrieve sea ice geophysical parameters from remote sensing data acquired with a satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or scatterometer on Sun-synchronous orbits  相似文献

Linear block codes over Gaussian integers and Eisenstein integers were used for coding over two-dimensional signal space. A group of Gaussian integers with 22n elements was constructed to code quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signals such that a differentially coherent method can be applied to demodulate the QAM signals. This paper shows that one subgroup of the multiplicative group of units in the algebraic integer ring of any quadratic number field with unique factorization, modulo the ideal (Pn), can be used to obtain a QAM signal space of 2p2n-2 points, where p is any given odd prime number. Furthermore, one subgroup of the multiplicative group of units in the quotient ring Z[ω]/(pn) can be used to obtain a QAM signal space of 6p2n-2 points; one subgroup of the multiplicative group of units in the quotient ring Z[i](pn) can be used to obtain a QAM signal space of 4p2n-2 points which is symmetrical over the quadrants of the complex plane and useful for differentially coherent detection of QAM signals; the multiplicative group of units in the quotient ring Z[ω]/(2n) can be used to obtain a QAM signal space of 3·22n-2 points, where i=√-1, ω=(-1+√-3)/2=(-1+i√3)/2, p is any given odd prime number, Z[i] and Z[ω] are, respectively, the Gaussian integer ring and the Eisenstein integer ring. The current approaches in Object-Oriented Analysis have limitations on modeling complex real world systems because they require priori knowledge about objects and their interactions before applying them. This may be practical in small systems and systems with clear domain knowledge, but not in large real world systems with unclear domain knowledge. Our approach uses a stepwise refinement technique in a top-down manner to the Object-Oriented Analysis stage with the application of use cases. This approach is especially good for new areas where we do not know all the information in advance. We present the approach with an example of its application to the B-ISDN service modeling and distributed systems.  相似文献

This study investigates the urban heat island effect in Singapore and examines the key factors causing this effect. The possibilities of improving heat extraction rate by optimizing air flow in selected hot spots were explored. The effect of building geometry, façade materials and the location of air-conditioning condensers on the outdoor air temperature was explored using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. It was found that at very low wind speeds, the effect of façade materials and their colours was very significant and the temperature at the middle of a narrow canyon increased up to 2.5 °C with the façade material having lower albedo. It was also found that strategically placing a few high-rise towers will enhance the air flow inside the canyon thereby reducing the air temperature. Adopting an optimum H/W ratio for the canyons increased the velocity by up to 35% and reduced the corresponding temperature by up to 0.7 °C.  相似文献

Nano-sized platinum and ruthenium dispersed on the surface LiCoO2 as catalysts for borohydride hydrolysis are prepared by microwave-assisted polyol process. The catalysts are characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Very uniform Pt and Ru nanoparticles with sizes of <10 nm are dispersed on the surface of LiCoO2. XRD patterns show that the Pt/LiCoO2 and Ru/LiCoO2 catalysts only display the characteristic diffraction peaks of a LiCoO2 crystal structure. Results obtained from XPS analysis reveal that the Pt/LiCoO2 and Ru/LiCoO2 catalysts contain mostly Pt(0) and Ru(0), with traces of Pt(IV) and Ru(IV), respectively. The hydrogen generation rates using low noble metal loading catalysts, 1 wt.% Pt/LiCoO2 and 1 wt.% Ru/LiCoO2, are very high. The hydrogen generation rate using Ru/LiCoO2 as a catalyst is slightly higher compared with that of Pt/LiCoO2.  相似文献

In many printer and publishing applications, it is desirable to embed data in halftone images. We proposed some novel data hiding methods for halftone images. For the situation in which only the halftone image is available, we propose data hiding smart pair toggling (DHSPT) to hide data by forced complementary toggling at pseudo-random locations within a halftone image. The complementary pixels are chosen to minimize the chance of forming visually undesirable clusters. Our experimental results suggest that DHSPT can hide a large amount of hidden data while maintaining good visual quality. For the situation in which the original multitone image is available and the halftoning method is error diffusion, we propose the modified data hiding error diffusion (MDHED) that integrates the data hiding operation into the error diffusion process. In MDHED, the error due to the data hiding is diffused effectively to both past and future pixels. Our experimental results suggest that MDHED can give better visual quality than DHSPT. Both DHSPT and MDHED are computationally inexpensive.  相似文献

A three-dimensional (3D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) scheme is introduced to model the scattering from objects in continuous random media. FDTD techniques have been previously applied to scattering from random rough surfaces and randomly placed objects in a homogeneous background, but little has been done to simulate continuous random media with embedded objects where volumetric scattering effects are important. In this work, Monte Carlo analysis is used in conjunction with FDTD to study the scattering from perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) objects embedded in continuous random media. The random medium models under consideration are chosen to be inhomogeneous soils with a spatially fluctuating random permittivities and prescribed correlation functions. The ability of frequency averaging techniques to discriminate objects in this scenarion is also briefly investigated. The simulation scheme described in this work can be adapted and used to help in interpreting the scattered field data from targets in random environments such as geophysical media, biological media, or atmospheric turbulence  相似文献
