We consider a model for superconductivity in a two-band superconductor, having an anisotropic electronic structure made of two partially overlapping bands with a first hole-like and a second electron-like Fermi surface. In this pairing scenario, driven by the interplay between interband V i,j and intraband V i,i pairing terms, we have solved the two gap equations at the critical temperature T=T c and calculate T c and the chemical potential μ as a function of the number of carriers n for various values of pairing interactions, V 1,1, V 2,2, and V 1,2. The results show the complexity of the physics of condensates with multiple order parameters with the chemical potential near band edges.  相似文献

This article presents a new approach for incorporating process-integration tools into life cycle analysis (LCA) for biofuel production. Process synthesis techniques using mass- and energy-integration tools are employed to generate various scenarios for reducing mass and energy consumption in the process. The global implications of these changes and the associated trade-offs are assessed using the LCA tool: GREET. The developed approach enables the consideration of several levels of process integration while tracking the process economics and the reduction of the net greenhouse gas emissions. Several cases of biofuels with different processing technologies have been considered in this study, and the results show that when the process-integration tools are effectively utilized and combined with LCA, better insights are obtained and the net greenhouse gas emissions decrease drastically for different biofuels.  相似文献

The dynamics of fingertip contact manifest themselves in the complex skin movements observed during the transition from a stuck state to a fully developed slip. While investigating this transition, we found that it depended on skin hydration. To quantify this dependency, we asked subjects to slide their index fingertip on a glass surface while keeping the normal component of the interaction force constant with the help of visual feedback. Skin deformation inside the contact region was imaged with an optical apparatus that allowed us to quantify the relative sizes of the slipping and sticking regions. The ratio of the stuck skin area to the total contact area decreased linearly from 1 to 0 when the tangential force component increased from 0 to a maximum. The slope of this relationship was inversely correlated to the normal force component. The skin hydration level dramatically affected the dynamics of the contact encapsulated in the course of evolution from sticking to slipping. The specific effect was to reduce the tendency of a contact to slip, regardless of the variations of the coefficient of friction. Since grips were more unstable under dry skin conditions, our results suggest that the nervous system responds to dry skin by exaggerated grip forces that cannot be simply explained by a change in the coefficient of friction.  相似文献

We synthesized crystalline Erbium Er3+ and Ytterbium Yb3+ codoped -Lu2O3 nanolayers on SiO2 microspheres using the modified Pechini method. Two different kinds of precursors, nitrates and chlorides, have been used leading to a layer-to-layer morphology and necklaces structures, respectively. In both cases, the size of nanocrystallites constituting the optical active layer is around 5 nm. We performed X-ray powder diffraction to confirm the cubic crystalline structure of the sesquioxides layer. High resolution transmission electron microscopy analyses corroborate the crystalline nature of the layer. The optical emission of Er3+ in the visible range has been recorded.  相似文献

Limited blood circulation to the skeletal tissue is a major cause of reduced therapeutic effects seen with drugs administered by conventional systemic ways. To resolve this issue and obtain a sufficiently high local concentration to induce therapeutic effects, several implanted drug delivery systems have been developed for hard tissues using biomaterials.We have designed a drug delivery device based on hydroxylapatite (HA) and tested it in vitro using metronidazol and chloramphenicol as model compounds. Porous HA ceramics were prepared with two different shapes (cylindrical and spherical). Known amounts of drugs were introduced inside a drilled hole and sealed with wax. The ceramics were then suspended in stirred distilled water in closed polypropylene vials. Drug release was observed during several weeks.A mathematical model used to describe drug release from HA was elaborated based on the expressions of Fick's laws. The experimental kinetic results could be related to ceramic constitution and to drug localization.  相似文献

A recent computational methodology is applied here in order to analyze the impact of free surfaces on the measurement of the interdiffusion coefficients if shear cells are used. Calculations indicate that the above-mentioned impact depends on the intensity of the solutal Marangoni convection but mainly on the number of active Marangoni segments, that is to say, on the extent of the free surface considered. Bulk solutal convection due to reduced gravity levels is not relevant if the gravity vector acts orthogonally to the gradient of concentration.  相似文献

A ground based facility (OLGA), providing magnetic compensation of gravity in oxygen, has been developed. A 2-T superconducting magnetic solenoid is used to create the required magnetic field. A novel electrical supply permits to quickly vary the magnetic field, leading to rapid variation of the acceleration forces applied to oxygen. These variations can be made from overcompensation of gravity (−0.5g) to zero gravity or from zero gravity to reduced gravity (0.4g) with a time constant of 340 ms. This time is typical of the cutoff or reignition of spacecraft engines. Preliminary results on the transient flows induced by these acceleration variations in a reservoir filled with liquid and gaseous oxygen are presented.  相似文献

To treat uncertain interface position is an important issue for complex applications. In this paper, we address the characterization of randomly perturbed interfaces between fluids thanks to stochastic modeling and uncertainty quantification through the 2D Euler system. The perturbed interface is modeled as a random field and represented by a Karhunen–Loève expansion. The stochastic 2D Euler system is solved applying Polynomial Chaos theory through the Intrusive Polynomial Moment Method (IPMM). This stochastic resolution method is fully explained and studied (theoretically and numerically). Stochastic Richtmyer–Meshkov unstable flows are solved and presented for several configurations of the uncertain interface (different rugosities) between the fluids. The probability density functions of the mass density of the fluid in the vicinity of the interface are computed built and compared for the different simulations: the system exhibits strong sensitivity with respect to the stochastic initially leading modes.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to develop a numerical model for simulating surface erosion occurring at a fluid/soil interface subject to a flow process. Balance equations with jump relations are used. A penalization procedure including a fictitious domain method is used to compute the Stokes flow around obstacles, in order to avoid body-fitted unstructured meshes and instead use fast and efficient finite volume approximations on Cartesian meshes. The evolution of the water/soil interface is described by using a level set function. The ability of the model to predict the interfacial erosion of soils is confirmed by several numerical simulations.  相似文献

Chlorination is one of the methods applied in extractive metallurgy for the treatment of minerals to obtain valuable metals, such as titanium and zirconium. The possibility of applying chlorination metallurgy to other metals such as tungsten was the major aim of this study. The kinetics of the chlorination of tungsten oxide (WO3) particles has been investigated by thermogravimetry between 973 K and 1223 K (700 °C and 950 °C) and for partial pressures of chlorine ranging from 15 to 70 kPa. The starting temperature for the reaction of WO3 with chlorine is determined to be about 920 K (647 °C). The influence of chlorine diffusion through the bulk gas phase and through the particle interstices in the overall rate was analyzed. In the absence of these two mass-transfer steps, a reaction order of 0.5 with respect to chlorine partial pressure, and an activation energy of 183 kJ/mol were determined. For tungsten oxide particles of less than 50-μm size, a complete rate expression has been obtained.  相似文献
