This paper focuses on the microscopic damage and progressive failure of a composite reinforced by plain-weave glass cloth under tensile fatigue loading. The fatigue process was divided into three stages like that of multi-directional laminates. It was found that the internal damage at each stage (matrix cracks, debonds in the weft, successive debonds in the warp and ‘metadelaminations’ between warps and wefts) occurred near the cross-over point of the fabric. The modulus decay mechanism was explained by considering the progression of this internal damage. From the end of the first stage to the beginning of the middle stage, a characteristic damage state (CDS) (called a ‘meta-CDS’) was observed. It was found that woven composites have a unit area of damage accumulation (called a ‘unit cell’) and the damage of each unit cell and its distribution control the total fatigue damage of the material.  相似文献

The three-dimensional dynamics of two interacting quantized vortex filaments is studied. The equations of motion and the method of numerical calculation follow Schwarz. Whether two approaching filaments reconnect or not depends on their arrangement before approach. When a ring moves toward a line from a distance, only within a critical initial distance they can reconnect. The critical distance is minimized when their circulations are parallel at the closest place, while it increases as their circulations begin to deviate from being parallel. Hence the reconnection probability can be less than unity.  相似文献

Development of accurate schemes is a technical issue related to calculation of electromagnetic fields. This study uses constrained interpolation profile (CIP) method to analyze electromagnetic fields created by line current. This is a novel method proposed by Yabe. Comparison of results obtained using finite difference time domain (FDTD) analysis and CIP analysis indicates that CIP analysis provides higher accuracy using identical discretization. In addition, given the same level of accuracy, CIP analysis requires less memory and less calculation time  相似文献

In the first half of the paper, various types of processing pertaining to a polygon, using the 4×4 determinant theories are explained along with a new containment test algorithm of a point in a polygon. In the latter half of the paper, a general-purpose geometric processor, the POLYGON ENGINE, is presented which can deal with various types of interference problems, such as Boolean operations in solid modelling, hidden line and surface eliminations, ray tracing and so on. It is, a successor of the TRIANGLE PROCESSOR and is also based upon the 4×4 determinant theories [4–6]. While the TRIANGLE PROCESSOR processes a triangulated polygon on a triangle-by-triangle basis, the POLYGON ENGINE can treat a polygon without triangulation. Steady-state sliding of grain boundaries is discussed by taking into account the change in the potential energy of an applied stress, when the sliding occurs by diffusional accommodation. The present analysis enables us to derive the sliding rates at boundaries of various shapes in a simple manner without knowing local stress fields. Sliding rate of a boundary containing second phase particles is also derived by similar calculations. The results are compared with previous calculations by other investigators, and it is found that the resultant expressions for the sliding rates are essentially identical to those derived from more complex analyses.  相似文献

Opportunistic infections are common and major causes of morbidity in patients with AIDS. Endemic mycoses pose serious risks for patients in certain parts of the world. Histoplasmosis occurs in 2-5% of patients with AIDS in the Ohio and Mississippi River valleys of the United States and in over 25% of patients from a few cities. Antigen testing has become a highly useful method for diagnosing histoplasmosis rapidly, evaluating the response to treatment and diagnosing relapse. Treatment with amphotericin B or itraconazole is effective (90% or higher) if the patient is not seriously ill at the time of diagnosis but the mortality approaches 50% for those with multiorgan failure. Itraconazole blood levels should be monitored and drugs that impair the absorption or accelerate the metabolism of itraconazole should be avoided. Prophylaxis with itraconazole may be appropriate in areas with an incidence of histoplasmosis. A recently completed study in cities which have unusually high rates of histoplasmosis will provide greater insight into the role of prophylactic antifungal therapy.  相似文献

Di-, tri-, tetra-, penta- and hexasaccharides were formed during the hydrolysis of lactose by transgalactosylation reaction of Aspergillus oryzae β-galactosidase. In this study the isolation and characterization of the major constituents of tri-, tetra- and pentasaccharides are described. The structure elucidation of 3 tri-, 2 tetra- and 1 pentasaccharides was carried out by methylation analysis, mass spectrometry and 13C-nmr spectrometry. The trisaccharides are O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 3)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-d-glucose(3′-galactosyl-lactose), O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-d-glucose (6′-galactosyl-lactose) and O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-O-[β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)]-d-glucose (4,6-digalactosyl-glucose). Tetrasaccharides are O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-d-glucose and O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 3) [or O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 3)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)]-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-d-glucose. Pentasaccharide is O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-O-β-d-galactopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-d-glucose.  相似文献

Properties of theDX centers in Al0.5Ga0.5As bulk alloy (b-AL), (AlAs)2 (GaSa)2 ordered superlattice (o-SL) and (AlAs) m (GaAs) n disordered superlattice (d-SL) (m = 1, 2, 3,n = 1, 2, 3) with the same macroscopic composition were measured and compared. By deconvolution of deep level transient spectroscopy (DLTS) spectrum due to theDX center, we have found a decrease in the number of separate peaks in DLTS spectrum in an intentionally atomic ordered arrangement. -alumina porous membranes without pinholes or cracks were prepared by the sol-gel process. The boehmite sol obtained from hydrolysation of aluminium isopropoxide was applied to the inner surface of a porous supporting tube by a dipping procedure. The effects of sol concentration and the repetition number of dipping-drying-firing procedure on the membrane performance were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method in connection with the micro-structure of the membrane. Gas permeation measurements were also conducted. The gas permeation through the thin membranes is well explained by Knudsen's flow, indicating the pores are controlled finely and homogeneously.  相似文献

Poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)/polystyrene (PHEMA/PS) composite microspheres were produced by emulsifier-free seeded emulsion polymerization for styrene in the presence of PHEMA seed particles. Effects of the surface characteristics of the PHEMA/PS composite microspheres on the adsorption immobilization of trypsin and on its enzymatic activity were discussed. Above 5 mol% of HEMA content, trypsin molecules adsorbed had high activity, 65–100% of the activity of free trypsin. The excellence of the composite microspheres as a carrier for trypsin seems to be closely related with the surface heterogeneity consisting of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts.  相似文献
