In order to effectively remove B from Si for its use in solar cells, a process involving B removal by solidification refining of Si using a Si-Al melt with Ti addition was investigated. For clarifying the effect of Ti addition on B removal from the Si-Al melt, TiB2 solubilities in Si-64.6 at. pct Al melt at 1173 K and Si-60.0 at. pct Al melt at 1273 K were determined by measuring the equilibrium concentrations of B and Ti in the presence of TiB2 precipitates. The small solubilities of TiB2 in the Si-Al melt indicate the effective removal of B from the Si-Al melt by Ti addition. Further, solidification experiments of Si-Al alloys containing B by Ti addition were performed, and the effect of Ti addition on the solidification refining of Si with the Si-Al melt was successfully confirmed.  相似文献

The radiographic density fluctuations produced by using dual screen-film systems are designated as the radiographic mottle. The density fluctuation of the radiographic mottle for the double emulsions at a density of the double emulsions consists of those for the front and back emulsions on a radiograph. However, the relation between the Wiener spectra of the radiographic mottle for the double and single emulsions had not been studied. Hence we compared the Wiener spectra of the radiographic mottle for the double emulsions with the sum of those for the front and back emulsions on the same radiographs and with the sum of those for the emulsions at the same densities. At all densities of more than 0.62 for lower spatial frequencies (< or = 1 mm-1), the Wiener spectral values of the radiographic mottle for the double emulsions were greater than the sum of those for the front and back emulsions for both comparisons on the same radiographs and at the same densities. In order to investigate the reason of the above phenomena, we separated the Wiener spectral values of the radiographic mottle for various densities into those of the three factors, i.e., quantum mottle, structure mottle, and film granularity, and performed the same comparisons as the radiographic mottle. Also, to explain the results for the three factors, we obtained the Wiener spectral values of the spatial fluctuations of the light exposure or the fluorescence intensity and the gradients of the characteristic curves of the film for the double and single emulsions of the x-ray film. As a result of the investigation, we found that the phenomena on the radiographic mottle were caused by that (1) on the same radiographs the squares of the gradients of the characteristic curves for the double emulsions were about 5.3 times as great as those for the single emulsion at densities of more than 0.62 of the double emulsions, and (2) at the same density of more than 0.62 those were more than about 2.2 times as great as those for the single emulsion.  相似文献

Adjuvant-induced arthritis (AA) in specific strains of rats is an immunologically mediated inflammatory disease which is also characterised by activation of the endocrine system. To further investigate the effects of AA on processing of the pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) precursor in rat immune tissues, we utilised radioimmunoassays for adrenocorticotrophin (ACTH), beta-endorphin and alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) to measure these peptides in the spleen and thymus. 14 days following adjuvant injection, spleen levels of ACTH were elevated in the AA group (4.47 +/- 1.04 ng/g tissue, n = 9) compared to controls (2.42 +/- 0.4 ng/g) and exacerbation of the disease by removal of circulating glucocorticoids through bilateral adrenalectomy (ADX) resulted in further elevation of spleen ACTH (5.11 +/- 1.22 ng/g). beta-Endorphin levels in both the AA (10.60 +/- 1.61 ng/g) and AA/ADX (13.37 +/- 2.36 ng/g) groups were higher than controls (5.57 +/- 0.65 ng/g). Conversely, alpha-MSH spleen levels were decreased in the AA (2.89 +/- 0.22 ng/g) and AA/ADX (2.22 +/- 0.33 ng/g) groups compared to controls (4.62 +/- 0.45 ng/g) and were also decreased following adrenalectomy. In the thymus, ACTH levels were elevated in the AA group (8.95 +/- 1.41 ng/g) compared to controls (5.79 +/- 0.63 ng/g), and the same pattern was evident for thymic alpha-MSH (0.64 +/- 0.08 ng/g in AA animals compared to control levels of 0.35 +/- 0.03 ng/g). A novel pattern recognition technique, support vector regression (SVR), has been introduced for linear structural parameter identification in a companion article. It is recognized that structural systems in general are designed to behave nonlinearly when subjected to extreme loading. Therefore SVR-based methods for nonlinear structural identification (SI) have been studied and they are summarized in this paper. The first method uses the SVR technique to identify nonlinear structural parameters, whereby the power parameter controlling the shape of the Bouc–Wen model is known. The second and third methods conduct nonlinear SI in the power parameter unknown condition, with the difference that the third method adopts a model selection strategy to enhance the nonlinear parameter estimation practicability. Five-story nonlinear structural systems whose restoring forces are expressed by the Bouc–Wen model are investigated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the SVR-based SI methods. Verification results show that the third method using the model selection strategy is the most efficient one for nonlinear structural parameter identification.  相似文献

A new calixarene-based donor-acceptor system, cone conformer 1, was prepared for the first time. In this compound, the calix[4]arene serves to juxtapose a tri-chloroquinone acceptor near the porphyrin photo-donor plane. As to the conformational control, the cone conformer 1 gave two peaks of phenolic OH groups at 8.40 and 8.43 ppm. This shows that cone conformer 1 is stabilized by intramolecular hydrogen bonds. The fluorescence intensity of 1 was 35% of that for the control compound 2. This means the tri-chloroquinone group in 1 efficiently quenched the fluorescence of ZnP*. The shortest edge-to-edge separation of the chromophores of 1 is ca. 8 A (as judged by CPK models). This provides a new calixarene-based supramolecular system in which through-space donor-to-acceptor electron transfer is observed upon photoexcitation.  相似文献

Plants are frequently attacked by herbivores and pathogens and therefore have acquired constitutive and induced defenses during the course of their evolution. Here we review recent progress in the study of the early signal transduction pathways in host plants in response to herbivory. The sophisticated signaling network for plant defense responses is elicited and driven by both herbivore-induced factors (e.g., elicitors, effectors, and wounding) and plant signaling (e.g., phytohormone and plant volatiles) in response to arthropod factors. We describe significant findings, illuminating the scenario by providing broad insights into plant signaling involved in several arthropod-host interactions.  相似文献

Homogeneous polycrystalline Si1-xGex were grown using a Si(seed)/Ge/Si(feed) sandwich structure under the low temperature gradient less than 0.4 °C/mm. It was found that the composition of the Si1-xGex was controlled by the growth temperature. The homogeneous Mg2Si1-xGex was synthesized by heat treatment of the homogeneous Si1-xGex powders under Mg vapor. The Mg2Si1-xGex sample with the relative density of 95% was synthesized by spark plasma sintering technique. The resistivity and the Seebeck coefficient of the Si, Ge, Si1-xGex and Mg2Si1-xGex samples were evaluated as a function of temperature. It indicated that Seebeck coefficients of the Si1-xGex and Mg2Si1-xGex samples were higher than those of Si and Ge. Moreover, the Seebeck coefficient of Mg2Si0.7Ge0.3 sample was higher than that of Mg2Si0.5Ge0.5 and Si0.5Ge0.5 samples.  相似文献

The characteristics of stress singularities near the free edge of the interface of bonded dissimilar materials subjected to change in temperature are investigated. The thermal stresses are represented by the sum of the singular terms of types r-1 and log r, no singular ones and the particular ones. The functions, K × F (j=1,2,3), associated with the terms except the particular terms contributing to the thermal stresses are described as new stress intensity factors. The K is obtained from the technique of the Mellin transform and the F is calculated by numerical analysis such as finite element analysis. The emphasis here is placed on clarifying material combinations with arbitrary wedge angles and elastic properties yielding K = 0. The results can be used to determine material/geometry which ensures that interface residual stresses will be in compressive.
