上肢残疾者的助力辅助装置

为了帮助上肢肌肉无力残疾者的手臂活动,提出一种助力辅助装置。该装置可以产生辅助力来提升使用者的手臂,通过电机的控制,提升的高度能自动调节。本文以开发的样机为基础,通过针对上肢残疾者的实验评价了该样机的效果,并对实验结果进行了讨论。     

Preparation and characterization of Ni–PTFE plate as an electrode for alkaline fuel cell: Effects of conducting materials on the performance of electrode

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fine particles (25 μm) were coated with 29–43 wt% Ni using electroless Ni plating. The Ni-plated PTFE (Ni–PTFE) particle conductivity increased concomitantly with increasing Ni contents. For 43 wt% Ni particles, the conductivity was about 300 S m⁻¹. After pressing the particles into plates with 300 kg cm⁻² pressure and subsequent heat treatment at 350 °C, acetylene black (AB) and graphite particles were introduced into the plates as conducting materials to elucidate effects on electrical conductivity and gas permeability. Plates containing AB (1.3 wt%) and graphite (5 wt%) respectively showed 1.25 and 1.5 times higher conductivity than the original Ni–PTFE plate did. The AB particles particularly caused pore volume expansion at the 0.1–1.0 μm size range in Ni–PTFE plates. The expanded total pore volume (0.159 cm³ g⁻¹) of Ni–PTFE plate with AB particles improved gas permeability, which increased the electrode life performance (25% up for 24 h) in alkaline fuel cells (AFCs). The current density of Ni–PTFE electrode containing AB particles was about 4.5 times than that of original Ni–PTFE electrode.

Hydrogen absorption by magnesium chemically deposited from a homogeneous phase: new strategies for the preparation of Mg-containing hydrogen storage materials

The use of a solution of magnesium in liquid ammonia enables the preparation of novel Mg-containing hydrogen storage materials. By using the solvent power of ammonia, magnesium particles highly dispersed on active carbon (AC) were prepared. By the use of AC on which catalytically active nickel had been previously supported, the preparation of samples was extended to include Mg---Ni binary systems. These samples were very active toward hydrogen absorption. For the Mg---Ni samples an increase in Ni loading (0.1–5 wt%) markedly enhanced the hydriding activity of the host magnesium.     

Phylogenetic analyses of Chlamydia psittaci strains from birds based on 16S rRNA gene sequence

The nucleotide sequences of 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) were determined for 39 strains of Chlamydia psittaci (34 from birds and 5 from mammals) and for 4 Chlamydia pecorum strains. The sequences were compared phylogenetically with the gene sequences of nine Chlamydia strains (covering four species of the genus) retrieved from nucleotide databases. In the neighbor-joining tree, C. psittaci strains were more closely related to each other than to the other Chlamydia species, although a feline pneumonitis strain was distinct (983 to 98.6% similarity to other strains) and appeared to form the deepest subline within the species of C. psittaci (bootstrap value, 99%). The other strains of C. psittaci exhibiting similarity values of more than 99% were branched into several subgroups. Two pigeon strains and one turkey strain formed a distinct clade recovered in 97% of the bootstrapped trees. The other pigeon strains seemed to be distinct from the strains from psittacine birds, with 88% of bootstrap value. In the cluster of psittacine strains, three parakeet strains and an ovine abortion strain exhibited a specific association (level of sequence similarity, 99.9% or more; bootstrap value, 95%). These suggest that at least four groups of strains exist within the species C. psittaci. The 16S rDNA sequence is a valuable phylogenetic marker for the taxonomy of chlamydiae, and its analysis is a reliable tool for identification of the organisms.     

Disease-free survival in a patient with squamous cell lung carcinoma following complete response with the combination chemotherapy of cisplatin and etoposide

Disease-free survival is reported in a patient with non-small cell lung carcinoma successfully treated with the combination chemotherapy of cisplatin and etoposide (CDDP-ETOP). An 80-year-old woman was diagnosed as having squamous cell carcinoma of the lung with bone metastasis. Chest X-ray showed a tumor (64 x 68 mm in size) in the S1/4 segment of the right lobe, and CT scan revealed no apparent metastasis of hilar lymphnode. In March 1989, the patient achieved a complete response (CR) after two courses of CDDP-ETOP therapy, followed by ETOP(100mg) every two weeks and daily UFT (400 mg) for 10 months. Subsequently, a single course of CDDP-ETOP was administered as a consolidation therapy. The patient is alive with no evidence of recurrent disease for 3 years and half after achieving CR.
