A mechanically induced current (MIC) in a polypyrrole/Au-coated membrane (PPy/Au-membrane) composite with various surface morphologies was investigated, and the electrolyte conditions were determined in an electrochemical cell. A MIC was induced on porous PPy/Au-membranes with a thin layer of PPy. Conversely, relatively small MICs were observed in non-highly porous films such as freestanding films and PPy/Au-membranes with thick PPy deposits. A MIC smaller by one order of magnitude was also observed in a Au-membrane without PPy. These results indicated that the MICs was due to a charging phenomenon in both the redox and the double layer capacitances. The MIC also varied with supporting electrolyte and their concentration. The MIC was strongly reduced in solutions with diluted electrolytes and with bulky cationic electrolytes, indicating that the number and the penetration speed of mobile ions limited the magnitude of the MIC. These characteristics indicated that the MIC was essentially a diffusion limited current. A two-electrode MIC cell was also configured to investigate a power generation film in a normal saline solution, which can possibly be utilized for biomedical applications.  相似文献

Carbon-and-oxygen-doped AlN specimens were prepared by combustion synthesis using Al, graphite, and AlN. Graphite addition changed the product color from white to blue. By XRD, the lattice constant increased slightly with increasing carbon content. Blue AlN powder was synthesized with a molar ratio of the diluent AlN of 0.2-0.5 with a fixed graphite content of 0.05. At an AlN molar ratio exceeding 0.6, carbon was not successfully incorporated due to the lower reaction temperature. Calcination at 800°C in air removed residual graphite without changing the crystal structure or product color. Oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon analyses revealed that blue AlN powders contained 0.45-0.54 mass% carbon and 1.4-1.6 mass% oxygen, while the undoped AlN contained 0.021 mass% carbon and 0.94 mass% oxygen. The origin of the white-to-blue color change was investigated via reflection measurements. Blue AlN exhibits an absorption peak at 634 nm (1.96 eV). From first-principles electronic structure calculations, the C-doped AlN and carbon-and-oxygen-doped AlN with a 1:1 ratio could be classified as p-type, whereas the O-doped AlN and 1:3 carbon-and-oxygen-doped AlN were n-type. One reason for the absorption peak at 634 nm may be a transition from the conduction band to an upper unoccupied state. These results suggest the possible control of optical and electronic properties of AlN via carbon-and-oxygen doping.  相似文献

A two-dimensional computer simulation method, developed by the authors using the method of finite differences, was applied to estimate the cake growth in slip casting of alumina with a triangular gypsum mold and a box-type gypsum mold with a convex bottom. The cake growth patterns, water penetration patterns, water flow rate distributions, and pressure distributions were simulated in the molds and/or cakes. The simulated cake growth patterns were in good agreement with those observed experimentally in both molds. Moreover, the cake growths could be well understood from the results of the water flow rate distributions in each case. The present method is applicable to cake growth simulation in slip casting with complicated-shape gypsum molds.  相似文献

The shear viscosity of PP-EPDM dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomers and ABS resins were investigated using (a) a constant shear stress creep instrument, (b) a rotational rheometer, and (c) a capillary extrusion rheometer. It was found that stresses exist for some of these materials below which they exhibit only finite deformations. This indicates they exhibit yield values. Much attention was given to measurements of creep at low stresses especially in the neighborhood of yield values. The magnitudes of the yield stresses obtained from these low stress measurements are significantly lower than those obtained using standard extrapolation to zero shear rate of higher stresses from rotational instruments. We also observed a high shear viscosity (~109 PA s) plateau in the materials of high rubber content. We contrasted our results to those found in the literature.  相似文献

Presenilin 1 (PS1) has been identified as a causative gene for most early-onset familial Alzheimer's disease. Biochemical studies revealed that PS1 exists predominantly as two processed fragments in cells and brain tissues. We prepared stably transfected cells expressing the wild-type and familial Alzheimer's disease-associated mutants of PS1 and investigated the enzyme that participates in the metabolism of PS1. After treatment of the cells with proteasome inhibitors, the full-length PS1 was significantly accumulated. The levels of N- and C-terminal fragments were also increased. The accumulation of PS1 with a deletion of exon 10, which is unable to be processed, on treatment of the transfected cells with lactacystin indicated that proteasome can degrade full-length PS1. A synthetic peptide that includes the processing region of PS1 was cleaved by 20S proteasome at the putative processing sites after Met288 and Glu299. Metabolic labeling experiments showed that the appearance of the N-terminal fragment was attenuated by the inhibitor. Finally, 28-kDa N- and 20-kDa C-terminal fragments were generated by purified PS1 in vitro. These data indicated that the proteasome pathway is involved in PS1 processing. These results demonstrate that the proteasome pathway plays dual roles in processing and degradation of PS1.  相似文献

In a fusion reactor, the prediction of tritium release behavior from breeder blanket is important to design the tritium recovery system, but the amount of tritium generated is necessary information to do that. Hence, tritium generation and recovery studies on lithium ceramics packed bed have been started by using fusion neutron source (FNS) in Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). Lithium titanate (Li2TiO3) was selected as tritium breeding material, and its packed bed was enclosed by the beryllium blocks, and was kept at certain temperature during fusion neutron irradiation. During irradiation, the packed bed was purged with the sweep gas continuously, and tritium released was trapped in each gas absorber selectively by chemical form. In this work, the effect of sweep gas species on tritium release behavior was investigated. In the case of sweep by helium with 1% of hydrogen, tritium in water form was released sensitively corresponding to the irradiation. This is due to existence of the water vapor in the sweep gas. On the other hand, in the case of sweep by helium without water vapor, tritium in gaseous form was released first, and release of tritium in water form was delayed from gaseous tritium and was gradually increased.  相似文献

The specific interactions between several low‐molecular‐weight diamino compounds and poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) have been investigated by FT‐IR. It was found that PCL and 3,3′‐diaminodiphenylmethane (3,3′‐DADPM) interact through strong intermolecular hydrogen bonds in the blend. Thermal and mechanical properties of PCL/3,3′‐DADPM blends were investigated by DSC and tensile measurements, respectively. The glass transition temperature of the blend increases while both the melting point and the elongation‐at‐break of the blend decrease with the increase of 3,3′‐DADPM content. Besides 3,3′‐DADPM, several other low‐molecular‐weight compounds containing two amino groups, such as o‐phenylenediamine or 1,6‐diaminohexane, were also added into PCL and the corresponding blend systems were investigated by FT‐IR and DSC. The effect of the chemical structure of the additives on the properties of PCL is discussed. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The importance of transparent conductive film is increasing due to its use in applications such as touch‐panel devices. Although indium tin oxide is widely used because of its high conductivity and transparency, conductive polymers are being studied as alternative materials that avoid the use of rare metals and the brittleness associated with existing systems. Polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT)/polyethylene sulfonic acid (PSS) is drawing a lot of attention due to its well‐balanced conductivity, transparency, film formability, and chemical stability. The nonconductive PSS reportedly covers the conductive PEDOT. The PSS shell provides carrier and film‐formability to PEDOT but is also a barrier that hinders electrical conductivity. Therefore, the PEDOT film formability is explored supported by a substrate without the addition of PSS. The “hierarchical nanoporous layer glass” holds the PSS‐free PEDOT with its nanopores to form a homogeneous, transparent film. The PSS‐free PEDOT film thus achieves transparency of over 85% and resistivity of below 500 Ω sq?1.  相似文献
