On the experimental and numerical investigation of clay/epoxy nanocomposites

Due to increasing use of clay/epoxy nanocomposites in industry, investigation of mechanical properties of clay nanocomposites has become of great interest. While the stiffening mechanism of clay nanocomposites is well documented, there is still not a clear understanding about how addition of clays affect the fracture behavior of clay/epoxy nanocomposites. The main aim of this paper is to measure and explain the effect of clays on ductility reduction of these nanocomposites. First, epoxy and clay/epoxy nanocomposites with different clay weight ratio were built. Then, the damage parameters of epoxy and clay/epoxy nanocomposites were measured by variation of the elasticity modulus. Based on loading–unloading experiments, the Lemaitre damage parameters for epoxy and clay/epoxy nanocomposites were extracted. Crack initiation and propagation in dog-bone sample were simulated for epoxy and clay/epoxy nanocomposites using the eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM). The comparison between experimental and numerical results shows that the proposed method can predict the crack initiation location and propagation path in clay/epoxy nanocomposites.

Design of Ultra-Wideband Monopulse Receiver

In this paper, we propose a novel amplitude-comparison monopulse receiver architecture for ultra-wideband radars. This monopulse receiver consists of four ridged-horn antennas placed in a square-feed configuration, a comparator circuit that generates the monopulse sum and difference signals, cross-correlation receivers that detect the monopulse signals, and an amplitude-comparison monopulse processor that determines the target's angular position. The derived monopulse sum and difference signals are verified through measurements. The derived sum and difference patterns are compared with measured patterns, and they show good agreements-measured 3-dB beamwidth=6.4deg(derived=6deg), measured unambiguous tracking range=plusmn5deg(derived=plusmn5deg), and measured sum pattern sidelobe level=-6 dB (derived=-8 dB)     

Highly (1 0 0)-oriented Pb(Zr0.20Ti0.80)O3/(Pb1−xLax)Ti1−x/4O3 multilayered thin films prepared by RF magnetron sputtering

The Pb(Zr_0.20Ti_0.80)O₃/(Pb_1−xLa_x)Ti_1−x/4O₃ (x = 0, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) (PZT/PLT_x) multilayered thin films were in situ deposited on the Pt(1 1 1)/Ti/SiO₂/Si(1 0 0) substrates by RF magnetron sputtering technique with a PbO_x buffer layer. With this method, all PZT/PLT_x multilayered thin films possess highly (1 0 0) orientation. The PbO_x buffer layer leads to the (1 0 0) orientation of the multilayered thin films. The effect of the La content in PLT_x layers on the dielectric and ferroelectric properties of the PZT multilayered thin films was systematically investigated. The enhanced dielectric and ferroelectric properties are observed in the PZT/PLT_x (x = 0.15) multilayered thin films. The dielectric constant reaches maximum value of 365 at 1 KHz for x = 0.15 with a low loss tangent of 0.0301. Along with enhanced dielectric properties, the multilayered thin films also exhibit large remnant polarization value of 2P_r = 76.5 μC/cm², and low coercive field of 2E_c = 238 KV/cm.     

A low-voltage switched-current delta-sigma modulator

This paper presents the design of a fully differential switched-current delta-sigma modulator using a single 3.3-V power-supply voltage. At system level, we tailor the modulator structure considering the similarity and difference of switched-capacitor and switched-current realizations. At circuit level, we propose a new switched-current memory cell and integrator with improved common mode feedback, without which low power-supply-voltage operation would not be possible. The whole modulator was implemented in a 0.8-μm double-metal digital CMOS process. It occupies an active area of 0.53×0.48 mm² and consumes a current of 0.6 mA from a single 3.3-V power supply. The measured dynamic range is over 10 b     

高速公路加油站的经营风险及对策

高速公路加油站具有车流量大、加油量大、资金流动大等特点，经营风险大于其他一些加油站，其主要表现形式有跑单（加油不付款）、加油枪脱落、撞坏加油机、撞车和遭到抢劫等。针对这些经营风险应采取尽量让加油员收取货款，在同一时间只守一支加油枪，加强对加油车辆的引导和加大保安力度，安装摄像头和自动报警器等措施。
