A new integral experiment with a deuteron–triton fusion (DT) neutron beam started in order to validate scattering cross section data. First the DT neutron beam was constructed with a collimator. The performance of the collimator system and the characteristics of the DT neutron beam were measured. Second a new integral experiment for type 316 stainless steel (SS316) was carried out with this DT neutron beam. The DT neutron beam of 3.5 cm in diameter was injected to the front surface center of an SS316 cylindrical assembly. Reaction rates of the 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb reaction in the assembly were measured with the activation foil method and were calculated with the Monte Carlo transport calculation code. The measurement points were located at three positions, on the center of the beam axis and at 15 cm and 30 cm apart from the axis. The ratio of calculation to experiment of the 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb reaction rate became smaller than 1 with the distance from the beam axis. Then, the dependency of each reaction rate on scattering angle was calculated. It was proved that at off-axis positions, where C/E is smaller than 1, 90° scattering contribute relatively larger than at on-axis positions and backward scattering made little contribution to the results in this experiment. The reasons of the discrepancy between the measured and calculated data will be investigated.  相似文献

The surface of nickel-free high-nitrogen stainless steel (HNS) was modified with a citric acid-based cross-linker, trisuccinimidyl citrate (TSC), to promote initial cell adhesion in external skeletal fixation pins. The remaining active ester groups on TSC-immobilized HNS reacted with the amino groups of serum proteins. The immobilized serum proteins formed cell recognition sites to promote the initial cell adhesion immediately after cell seeding. The amount of fibronectin, which is a typical cell adhesion protein, immobilized on the TSC-immobilized HNS surface was threefold greater than on the original HNS after only 15 min. The fibroblastic cell culture experiments showed that the initial cell adhesion was significantly enhanced on the TSC-immobilized HNS compared with the original HNS at 3 h. Furthermore, the cell adhesion activity of the TSC-immobilized HNS continued to promote cell proliferation even at 7 days. Therefore, TSC-immobilized HNS may enable the rapid integration of soft tissues through its reaction with the patient’s serum proteins and extracellular proteins around the surgical site.  相似文献

Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plants (1F) were damaged by unprecedented severe accident in the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11 March 2011, and seawater has been injected as an emergency countermeasure for the core cooling. Although, the RPV and PCV were not supposed to be exposed to diluted seawater, they have been exposed to diluted seawater environment or high-moisture environment. Therefore, seawater corrosion has become an important issue. Immersion corrosion tests were performed for low-alloy steel of RPV material and carbon steel of PCV material in 1F cooling-water-simulated environment. As a result, the mass loss by corrosion was reduced with the decreasing temperature and chloride ion concentration. Moreover, the effects of nitrogen deaeration and Na2WO4 addition on corrosion protection were remarkable among the selected corrosion countermeasures. In addition, the integrity assessments of RPV and PCV were performed considering the reduction of plate thickness based on corrosion test data and the load condition based on earthquake response analysis results. It had been confirmed that primary stresses for RPV and PCV equipment satisfied with the allowable values until at least 15 years after the accident.  相似文献

Recently, humanized animals whereby a part of the animal is biologically engineered using human genes or cells have been utilized to overcome interspecific differences. Herein, we analyzed the detail of the differentiation states of various human leukocyte subpopulations in humanized mouse and evaluated comprehensively the similarity of the leukocyte lineage between humanized mice and humans. Humanized mice were established by transplanting human CD34(+) cord blood cells into irradiated severely immunodeficient NOD/Shi-scid/IL2Rγ(null) (NOG) mice, and the phenotypes of human cells contained in bone marrow, thymus, spleen and peripheral blood from the mice were analyzed at monthly intervals until 4 months after cell transplantation. The analysis revealed that transplanted human hematopoietic stem cells via the caudal vein homed and engrafted themselves successfully at the mouse bone marrow. Subsequently, the differentiated leukocytes migrated to the various tissues. Almost all of the leukocytes within the thymus were human cells. Furthermore, analysis of the differentiation states of human leukocytes in various tissues and organs indicated that it is highly likely that the human-like leukocyte lineage can be developed in mice.  相似文献

During a hypothetical core-disruptive accident in a sodium-cooled fast breeder reactor, degraded core materials can form debris beds on the core-support structure and/or in the lower inlet plenum of the reactor vessel from rapid quenching and fragmentation of core material pool. Coolant boiling may lead ultimately to leveling of the debris bed that is crucial to the relocation of molten core and heat-removal capability of the debris bed. In the present study, we elected to use depressurization boiling to simulate an axially increasing void distribution in the debris bed. Bottom-heating boiling was also chosen to confirm that characteristics of the self-leveling process do not depend on the boiling mode. Particle size (between 0.5 and 6 mm), shape (spherical and non-spherical), bed volume (between 5 and 8 l) and density (namely of alumina, zirconia, lead and stainless steel) along with boiling intensity and total volume were taken as experimental parameters to obtain the general characteristics of the self-leveling process. A series of experiments with simulant materials were conducted and analyzed in detail. The good concordance of the transient processes obtained from the different boiling methods sufficiently demonstrates that the present results obtained using the depressurization boiling method exhibit these general self-leveling characteristics. Detailed comparisons of deduced time variations of the inclination angle provides qualitative tendencies based on the experimental parameters considered influential to self-leveling behavior. The rationale behind the definition introduced for equivalent power density is also presented.  相似文献

In the new century, energy and environmental problems are becoming more critical, and the development of natural energy is desired. Low-grade Thermal Energy Conversion (LTEC) is refocused as one of the renewable energy methods. The usefulness of LTEC is expected using hot springs and waste heat. In the case of the Rankine cycle using ammonia as the working fluid, the thermal properties of the working fluid changes in the evaporator. The traditional evaluation method of heat exchanger performance is the LMTD (Logarithmic Mean Temperature Difference) method. On the other hand, the GMTD (Generalized Mean Temperature Difference) method allows the variation of thermal properties in the heat exchanger. The aim of this study is to compare the two methods for the calculation of temperature differences and the corresponding influence on the total performance of the Rankine cycle that is operated using ammonia as a working fluid. As a result, the thermal efficiency of the Rankine cycle is greater than that of the LMTD method. Moreover, the computable range of the GMTD calcula- tion method is less than that of the LMTD calculation method.  相似文献

The scavenging of a resistive siliceous phase via the addition of Al2O3 was studied, using imaging secondary-ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS), given the improved grain-boundary conductivity in 8-mol%-yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ). The grain-boundary resistivity in 8YSZ decreased noticeably with the addition of 1 mol% of Al2O3. Strong SiO2 segregation at the grain boundaries was observed in a SIMS map of pure 8YSZ that contained 120 ppm of SiO2 (by weight). The addition of 1 mol% of Al2O3 caused the SiO2 to gather around the Al2O3 particles. The present observations provided direct and visual evidence of SiO2 segregation at the grain boundaries (which had a deleterious effect on grain-boundary conductivity) and the scavenging of SiO2 via Al2O3 addition.  相似文献

Experimental methods and preliminary results of high-precision measurements of the 3 He melting curve in high magnetic fields have been described. The purpose of this work is twofold. One is to establish a reliable millikelvin temperature scale in high fields (T 10 mK, B 15 T), The other is to investigate a high field region of the magnetic phase diagram of solid 3 He by measuring the melting pressure down to temperatures below 1 mK. Besides the two superfluid transitions, the phase transition temperatures between the spin ordered solid and the paramagnetic solid, T HFP , were determined at B = 12 and 10 T with good accuracy, which is an extension of previous measurements up to 8 T. The present T HFP (B) line can not be scaled to that at a higher density with a single Grüneisen parameter, indicating a variation of density dependencies of the multiple-spin exchange interactions.  相似文献

This report presents an investigation on the combustion of single droplets comprised of heavy oil and oil mixtures blending diesel light oil (LO) and a heavy oil residue (HOR). The tests were conducted in a microgravity facility that offered 10 s of free-fall time. Fine wire thermocouples supported the droplets, resulting in a measurement of droplet temperature history. Additional data were the droplet and flame size history. The results identified four distinctive burning stages between ignition and extinction for heavy oil (C class) and HOR-LO blends. They are, in succession, the start-up, inner evaporation, thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) and polymerization stages. The start-up stage denoted an initial transient period, where the LO components burned from the droplet surface and the droplet temperature increased rapidly. The latter three stages featured pronounced droplet swellings and contractions caused by fuel evaporation and decomposition inside the droplet. An evaporation temperature demarcated the start-up stage from the inner evaporation stage, and this temperature corresponded to a plateau in the temperature history of the droplet. Two additional temperatures, termed the decomposition and polymerization temperatures, indicated the ends of the evaporation and decomposition stages. These temperatures were similarly identified by plateaus or inflection points in the time-temperature diagram. The evaporation temperature gradually decreased with increasing the initial LO mass fraction in the droplet, whereas the other two temperatures were almost independent of the oil composition. All three temperatures increased with decreasing initial droplet diameter, but the dependence was very slight. Based on the results, the combustion of heavy oil droplets appears to be dominated by a distillation-like vaporization mechanism, because of the rapid mass transport within the droplets caused by the disruptive burning.  相似文献

Here, we report the fabrication of a chemical gradient microfluidic device for single-cell cytotoxicity assays. This device consists of a microfluidic chemical gradient generator and a microcavity array that enables entrapment of cells with high efficiency at 88 ± 6% of the loaded cells. A 2-fold logarithmic chemical gradient generator that is capable of generating a serial 2-fold gradient was designed and then integrated with the microcavity array. High density single-cell entrapment was demonstrated in the device without cell damage, which was performed in 30 s. Finally, we validated the feasibility of this device to perform cytotoxicity assays by exposing cells to potassium cyanide (0-100 μM KCN). The device captured images of 4000 single cells affected by 6 concentrations of KCN and determined cell viability by counting the effected cells. Image scanning of the microcavity array was completed within 10 min using a 10× objective lens and a motorized stage. Aligning cells on the microcavity array eases cell counting, observation, imaging, and evaluation of singular cells. Thus, this platform was able to determine the cytotoxicity of chemicals at a single-cell level, as well as trace the cytotoxicity over time. This device and method will be useful for cytotoxicity analysis and basic biomedical research.  相似文献
