Reinforcement learning is considered an important tool for robotic learning in unknown/uncertain environments. In this article, we suggest that Voronoi space division creates a new Voronoi region which permits an arbitrary point in the plane, say a Voronoi Q-value element (VQE), and constructs a new method for space division using a Voronoi diagram in order to realize multidimensional reinforcement learning. This article shows some results for four-dimensional spaces, and the essential characteristics of VQEs in a continuous state and action are also described. The advantages of learning with a variety of VQEs are enhanced learning speed and reliability for this task.  相似文献

Three studies of different mobile-device hand postures are presented. The first study measures the performance of postures in Fitts’ law tasks using one and two hands, thumbs and index fingers, horizontal and vertical movements, and front- and back-of-device interaction. Results indicate that the index finger performs well on both the front and the back of the device, and that thumb performance on the front of the device is generally worse. Fitts’ law models are created and serve as a basis for comparisons. The second study examines the orientation of shapes on the front and back of a mobile device. It shows that participants’ expectations of visual feedback for finger movements on the back of a device reverse the direction of their finger movements to favor a “transparent device” orientation. The third study examines letter-like gestures made on the front and back of a device. It confirms the performance of the index finger on the front of the device, while showing limitations in the ability for the index finger on the back to perform complex gestures. Taken together, these results provide an empirical foundation upon which new mobile interaction designs can be based. A set of design implications and recommendations are given based directly on the findings presented.  相似文献

The wire beam electrode (WBE) and the scanning reference electrode technique (SRET) have been applied in a novel combination to measure, for the first time, electrochemical parameters simultaneously from both the metallic and electrolytic phases of a corroding metal surface. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the application of this combined WBE-SRET method in obtaining unique information on localised corrosion mechanism, by investigating typical corrosion processes occurring over a mild steel WBE surface exposed to the classic Evans solution. The WBE method was used to map current and potential distributions in the metallic phase, and the SRET was used to map current or potential distribution in the electrolytic phase. It has been found that the combined WBE-SRET method is able to gain useful information on macro-cell electrochemical corrosion processes that involve macro-scale separation of anodes and cathodes. In such macro-cell corrosion systems, maps measured using WBE and SRET were found to correlate with each other and both methods were able to detect the locations of anodic sites. However the movement of the scanning probe during SRET measurements was found to affect the SRET detection of cathodic sites. In micro-cell corrosion systems where the separation of anodic and cathodic sites were less distinct, SRET measurement was found to be insensitive in detecting anodic and cathodic sites, while the WBE method was still able to produce results that correlated well with observed corrosion behaviour. Results obtained from this work suggest that the WBE-SRET method is applicable for understanding the initiation, propagation and electrochemical behaviour of localised corrosion anodes and cathodes, and also their dependence on externally controllable variables, such as solution pH changes and the existence of surface coatings.  相似文献

A retrospective study of 8 cases of envenoming by Chinese krait (Bungarus multicinctus) and one banded krait (B. fasciatus) in southern Myanmar is reported. Chinese krait bite produced minimal local reactions, except in one person bitten on the lip which resulted in local swelling. Onset of neurotoxic symptoms occurred 2.5-6 h after the bite, and the interval between bite and death ranged from 12-30 h. Three deaths were due to respiratory failure. Four mildly envenomed cases recovered spontaneously without assisted ventilation. One severely envenomed patient recovered after 8 d intensive respiratory care. Cobra (Naja kaouthia) antivenom had no value in reversing neurotoxic symptoms. Anticholinesterase injection given to one patient failed to improve neurotoxic symptoms. The bite of banded krait (B. fasciatus) resulted in neurotoxic envenoming within 2 h after the bite, with minimal local reactions. The victim died of respiratory failure 14 h after the bite.  相似文献

An electrochemically integrated multi-electrode system namely the wire beam electrode (WBE) has been applied for the first time to study corrosion of mild steel buried in sand, with and without the presence of corrosion inhibitor potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7). Measurements of galvanic current distribution maps have been carried out during the exposure of the WBE to dry, damp and chlorinated sand environments. Characteristic changes in galvanic current distribution maps have been observed during the initiation and propagation of localised corrosion. Specifically, during corrosion initiation in damped sand, new anodes were found to initiate and corrosion appeared to be in general form. When the WBE was later exposed to chlorinated sand, massive disappearance of anodic sites was found to occur, resulting in accelerated anodic dissolution of a small number of remaining anodic sites. Addition of corrosion inhibitor K2Cr2O7 to the sand environment was found to significantly reduce galvanic current only after an initial increase in galvanic current. This result suggests that K2Cr2O7 behaved as an anodic inhibitor.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: Previous studies have suggested that there are racial differences in the outcome of conventional filtration surgery. This study aims to evaluate the outcome of glaucoma drainage implants in Asian eyes with complicated glaucoma and to determine whether there are racial differences in the results of such implant surgery compared to previous reports in non-Asian patients. DESIGN: The study design was a retrospective review of all patients with more than 6-months' follow-up after glaucoma implant surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre between January 1993 and August 1996. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 83 Asian patients with uncontrolled complicated glaucoma participated. INTERVENTION: A total of 29 patients received Molteno implants and 54 received Baerveldt implants. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The surgical outcome was assessed in terms of final intraocular pressure (IOP), visual acuity outcome, and incidence of complications. Success was defined as final IOP less than 22 mmHg with no medications and qualified success as an IOP less than 22 mmHg with medication. RESULTS: With mean follow-up of 13.41 months, success in IOP control was achieved in 73.5% of patients and qualified success in 12%. Visual acuity remained stable or improved in 85.5%. There were no patients who encountered intraoperative complications, and the incidence of serious postoperative complications was low. The most frequently observed short- and long-term postoperative complication was hyphema in 14 eyes (16.9%) and bullous keratopathy in 7 eyes (8.4%), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Glaucoma drainage implants have good outcome and visual stabilization in Asian eyes with success rates for IOP control comparable to those reported in previous studies in non-Asian eyes.  相似文献

Planning electric-rolling-stock (ERS) maintenance in conditions of limited resources can be carried out based on the following criteria of efficiency of construction of the cycle diagram of the electric rolling stock: meeting the requirements of the railway-traffic safety provided by adjusting the planned movement time of the electric rolling stock for the purpose of not allowing an excessive lapse of time between the maintenance over that permissible and uniformity of maintenance. The solution of the set problem using the graph theory allows obtaining the whole set of the permissible values of maintenance and selecting a value that, on the one hand, corresponds to the planned train time schedule (PTTS) and, on the other hand, differs minimally from the optimal with respect to the selected criterion. This takes a significant amount of time. The problem can be quickly solved using a genetic algorithm. The introduction of a new criterion—total excess time lapse between maintenance works over the permissible interval—allows obtaining the solution with any initial data, which is not always achievable when using the uniform-maintenance criterion. The crossover and permutation algorithm implemented within the genetic algorithm is adapted taking into account considering the peculiarities of the agents engaged in solving the problem that has been set out. We have studied the possibility of using various types of crossover and permutation to construct the cycle diagrams and influence of the parameters of the genetic algorithm on the results. The obtained analytical results are tested for the conditions of the Moscow subway.  相似文献
