Fast Shadowing Algorithm for Linear Light Sources   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper presents a fast shadowing algorithm for linear light sources that uses a ray-oriented buffer. Space segmentation by the buffer guarantees that if a point is included in a subspace, all light rays toward the point are also contained in the subspace. Each cell of the buffer stores a list of objects that lie within or intersect the subspace allocated to the cell. Therefore, candidate objects, those that may cast shadows onto a point, are determined by referring to the cell where the point is mapped. In addition, whether each candidate object actually casts shadows or not is tested with the bounding-volume of the shadow space to reduce the number of objects subjected to expensive light clipping. The bounding-volumes are also stored in the buffer. For efficiently generating the ray-oriented buffer, we present the cylindrical scan-conversion algorithm. The algorithm preconverts objects' surfaces to trapezia to decrease the light clipping cost, then connects the trapezia to the buffer cells. Due to the above improvements, our algorithm achieves over 10 times faster shadow generation compared to the conventional methods. Experimental results confirm that our method can generate realistic images with soft shadows in a few minutes.  相似文献

Although organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are promising for use in applications such as in flexible displays, reports of long‐lived flexible OLED‐based devices are limited due to the poor environmental stability of OLEDs. Flexible substrates such as plastic allow ambient oxygen and moisture to permeate into devices, which degrades the alkali metals used for the electron‐injection layer in conventional OLEDs (cOLEDs). Here, the fabrication of a long‐lived flexible display is reported using efficient and stable inverted OLEDs (iOLEDs), in which electrons can be effectively injected without the use of alkali metals. The flexible display employing iOLEDs can emit light for over 1 year with simplified encapsulation, whereas a flexible display employing cOLEDs exhibits almost no luminescence after only 21 d with the same encapsulation. These results demonstrate the great potential of iOLEDs to replace cOLEDs employing alkali metals for use in a wide variety of flexible organic optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

Distribution centers, which are essential to our society, are becoming increasingly important. Although the efficiency of an AVS/RS (Autonomous vehicle storage and retrieval system) makes it a promising system, there is still much to be studied regarding its effective use and design. This paper proposes a method of designing AVS/RSs through a quantitative consideration of group constraint by utilizing probability theory. The proposed algorithm also deals with the problem of designing the sizes of several buffers, and considers the effect of load fluctuations, which are important for real-world operation, by use of queuing network theory. Effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown with simulations of various number of groups, those of various safety factors for fluctuations, and those of various evasion rates for buffer overflow. The design results are shown to be much different from those which do not consider those factors. The results prove that the proposed method provides an accurate quantitative assessment of the AVS/RS’s constraints.  相似文献

We developed flexible displays using back‐channel‐etched In–Sn–Zn–O (ITZO) thin‐film transistors (TFTs) and air‐stable inverted organic light‐emitting diodes (iOLEDs). The TFTs fabricated on a polyimide film exhibited high mobility (32.9 cm2/Vs) and stability by utilization of a solution‐processed organic passivation layer. ITZO was also used as an electron injection layer (EIL) in the iOLEDs instead of conventional air‐sensitive materials. The iOLED with ITZO as an EIL exhibited higher efficiency and a lower driving voltage than that of conventional iOLEDs. Our approach of the simultaneous formation of ITZO film as both of a channel layer in TFTs and of an EIL in iOLEDs offers simple fabrication process.  相似文献

Attention has been increasingly paid to the partial oxidation of lower alkanes to synthesis gas, due to its intrinsic energy saving process. We studied the partial oxidation of ethane (POE) on Co loaded on various supports. The POE performance varied as follows: Y2O3, CeO2, ZrO2, La2O3  SiO2, Al2O3, TiO2 > MgO. Comparing Y2O3 and CeO2, the carbon deposition during the POE was negligible on CeO2 and therefore CeO2 was the most preferable support. By changing space velocity and O2 partial pressure, reaction mechanism of POE was studied and it was revealed that two-step mechanism was prevailing; combustion of ethane to H2O and CO2 and subsequent reforming of ethane with H2O and CO2 to synthesis gas. Co/CeO2 catalyst exhibited high and stable catalytic activity for 10 h; high ethane conversion of 18% (maximum ethane conversion 20% at O2/C2H6 = 0.2) with H2 and CO selectivities of 93 and 84%, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

Some properties of fields diffracted in the Fraunhofer region by apertures bounded by regular fractals are investigated. A recursion relation describing such apertures is introduced and the associated relation in the Fourier transform domain is described. For a triadic Koch aperture whose edge has the fractal dimension of Ds = 1·262, the recursion relation is numerically evaluated. Self-similar structures of intensity distributions in the Fraunhofer region are verified for the present objects. The relationship of the fractal dimension D s of the fractal edge with the power-law decay of the Fraunhofer diffraction intensities is also verified.  相似文献

The prediction of residual stress in a stress lattice shape casting (stress lattice) has been conducted and discussed by some researchers via the Finite Element Method (FEM). However, most of the previous studies used the first-order tetrahedral element, which has poor analysis accuracy in problems including bending. The use of the first-order tetrahedral element makes the verification of these studies uncertain because the bending deformation essentially occurs in the stress lattice casting. This study first shows that the thermal stress analysis for the stress lattice should use the element that can represent the bending deformation in principle for bending of the thin parts. Second, the simulated residual stress was compared with the measured value. The thermal stress analysis successfully predicted the residual stress of the stress lattice casting with and 11 pct difference. In addition to the prediction of the residual stress, it is important from the viewpoint of the productivity of castings to reveal the effect of the shake-out temperature on the residual stress. However, in the previous studies, conclusions concerning the effect of the shake-out temperature on the residual stress were not consistent (i.e., the one study said the higher shake-out temperature decreased the residual stress, and another study said a higher shake-out temperature increased the residual stress). Therefore, the current study first discusses the reason for the inconsistent conclusions in the previous studies. Second, stress lattice castings were cast and shaken out at various shake-out temperatures. Then, the current study validated the effect of the shake-out temperature on the residual stress. Consequently, the experimental results supported the conclusion of Kasch and Mikelonis that the shake-out at higher temperature contributed to the increase of the residual stress in the casting.  相似文献

Abstract

The dynamic properties of doubly-scattered speckles produced at the image plane have been investigated using a scattering model that consists of a coherent Gaussian beam, a cascade of two moving diffusers and a single imaging lens. Dependence of the fluctuation speed of time-varying image speckles on the velocities of the diffusers is found to change with the size of illuminating speckles and the width of the point-spread function of the imaging lens. When the point-spread function and the focal position satisfy certain conditions, three kinds of velocity information—the velocity of each diffuser, the average velocity of the diffusers and the velocity difference between the diffusers—can be obtained by measuring a temporal correlation length of the time-varying speckle intensity. Experimental results confirm the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The effects of vitamin E on cholesteryl ester (CE) metabolism in 1774 cells were examined. Pretreatment of 1774 cells with vitamin E at concentrations above 50 μM significantly decreased acetylated low density lipoprotein (LDL)-induced incorporation of [14C]oleate into CF in cells in a dose-dependent manner. This was partly due to vitamin E Also significantly inhibiting the uptake of [3H]CE-labeled acetylated LDL by 1774 cells. A trend existed toward suppression of acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) activity in the cell lysate at high vitamin E concentration, but there was no effect on hydrolysis of CE. These data indicate that vitamin E reduces the uptake of modified LDL and suppresses ACAT activity, resulting in less cholesterol esterification in macrophages; a novel mechanism underlying the antiatherogenic properties of vitamin E.  相似文献
