A 74-year-old female with the chief complaint of lower abdominal and anal pain had been suffering from total incontinence due to cerebral palsy since her childhood. A giant stone was palpable on vaginal examination. A radiograph showed a giant calcification in the pelvis. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a giant vesico-vaginal stone, which occupied most of the bladder and vagina. Cystolithotomy was performed. The removed stone weighed 435 g, and measured 9.0 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm, and was composed of magnesium ammonium phosphate. To our knowledge only eight cases of female giant vesical stone have been reported. We herein report a rare case of vesico-vaginal stone unrelated to gynecological procedures.  相似文献

Ligation-independent cloning (LIC) is a useful method for efficient directional cloning of a PCR product. LIC requires a specially designed vector containing a long stretch of sequence that is missing any one of the four nucleotides. When the linearized vector is treated with T4 DNA polymerase, in the presence of the absent base, long single-stranded overhangs are generated that are suitable for cloning. In this study, long and efficient sticky ends for LIC were produced by sequential T4 DNA polymerase treatments at non-specific sequences on a commercially available vector. All restriction enzyme sites become available in the current LIC.  相似文献

The measurement of the tensile strength of a powder bed has been carried out by means of the swing method measuring instrument, which has been developed by the authors. The effects on the void fraction and the moisture content have been investigated.From the stress—displacement curves obtained directly with this instrument, the work required for the tensile breakage of the powder bed was calculated.The most interesting problem is the application of the measurement of tensile stress to the design of powder treatment processes.The floodability of fine powders has been discussed empirically but theoretical bases are not sufficient for the evaluation of the potential floodability.The following dimensionless number, namely the ratio of the cohesive force to the gravity force on a single particle,

The activities of fourteen kinds of catalysts for the hydrocracking of Taiheiyo coal were examined by a high pressure differential thermal analytical method. Exothermic peaks appeared at low temperatures (420–430°C) when MoO3TiO2, NiY zeolite and CoY zeolite were used as catalysts, indicating that these catalysts are highly active compared with other catalysts including MoO3CoOAl2O3. The qualitative analysis of gas and liquid products revealed that MoO3TiO2 and CoY are good catalysts for the liquefaction reaction. The hydrogenation ability of the catalyst is concluded to be more important than its acidic property.  相似文献

Centrifugal separation of elements has been explored in rapidly rotating metal plasmas. The plasma is produced and driven into rotation by cross-field, vacuum discharge in a coaxial plasma gun. A large separation factor is measured in Cu/Zn plasmas. In particular, a hollow density profile which improves the separative power is found to be established in the plasma column.  相似文献

A 53-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with abdominal pain. Physical examination revealed marked splenomegaly. The white blood cell count increased to 5.8 x 10(4)/microliters. Bone marrow biopsy showed hypercellularity with a moderate increase in reticulin fiber. Chromosomal analysis showed 47, XY, +9q-, -9q- without Ph1 chromosome and bcr-abl rearrangement. MCNU therapy was successful in reducing the white blood cell count and splenomegaly. It is likely that the diagnosis of our patient is compatible with the neutrophilic myelofibrosis described by Stewart, et al.  相似文献

Operation management is an essential technology for the “OTV (Orbital Transfer Vehicle) Network” which has been proposed as a promising space transportation infrastructure for the next century. In addition to the nominal mode scheduling, the management system must quickly re-make the schedule in the case of failures of some system elements, inputs of urgent missions or mission alterations. This paper analyses this management as a new control problem, and proposes a distributed artificial intelligence-type system architecture to deal with it. The effectiveness of the system has been verified by simulation studies assuming practical problem settings.  相似文献

A new idea for the development of ultra high strength steels by utilizing the spinodal decomposition of the Fe-Mo binary system is proposed. The idea comprises the restraint of the brittleness of the Fe-Mo alloy by reducing the Mo-content necessary to spinodal decomposition and by microstructure refining such as grain refining, subgrain refining etc; the former is realized by the alloying with some elements which, in general, have a tendency towards ordering (i.e., negative interchange energy between the nearest neighbour atoms) when combined with iron, and the latter by thermomechanical treatment and/or cold rolling. On the basis of the idea, that hidden properties indispensable to high strength materials are successfully drawn from the Fe-Mo alloy; we have obtained a 4GPa grade high tensile steel of Fe-Mo-Co-V. This idea is sure to contribute new suggestions to the development of high strength materials.  相似文献
