Microstrip PIN diode microwave switch

A possibility of creating narrow-band electrically controlled microwave breakers and switches with enhanced attenuation level in the blocking mode has been considered. The specified devices are based on the structure containing a short-circuited microstrip link with connected capacitor and the loop coupler, in the center of which is located a PIN diode.

Television diagnostics of microobjects at vibrating excitation

The influence of microobject vibrations on the parameters of the microobject's video image is theoretically and experimentally studied. The spatial coherence of illuminating light, parameters of the optical scheme and television system, and roughness of the object's surface are taken into account. The possibility of video inspection of microobject vibrations on the base of blurred microobject's image, when the amplitudes of vibrations are comparable with the size of the microobject, is considered. It is demonstrated that changes in the spatial coherence may cause changes in the sensitivity and precision of measurements. Theory and experimental results are presented.     

The resonance IR absorption in a “metal-thin dielectric layer-diaphragm with aperture” system

It is established that a “metal-thin dielectric layer-diaphragm with aperture” system exhibits a resonance absorption in the IR spectral range. The effect is related to the interaction of the near field of the incident radiation, distorted by the aperture, with the reflecting metal surface. This phenomenon can be used to create adjustable IR filters.

A high-Q low-dimensional resonator with electrically tunable frequency

A low-dimensional high-Q resonator has been proposed and its frequency-response characteristics have been investigated. The specified resonator features the frequency-response characteristics that are electrically tunable by using a semiconductor diode with variable capacitance.     

Magnetic frequency tuning of the microwave Gunn diode oscillator

It has been found experimentally that the oscillation frequency of a Gunn diode placed in the low-dimensional resonance system “metal pin-closely set short-circuiter” can be effectively controlled by magnetic field applied in the normal direction with respect to the waveguide wide wall.
