Photoinduced phase transitions have been observed between the two phases in single crystals of polydiacetylenes with side-groups of alkylurethanes. The threshold of the excitation intensity for the photochromism is extremely low, one absorbed photon per 140 repeated backbone units, indicating a collective nature of the photoconversion. The excitation spectra for the converted fraction clearly show that the photoinduced phase transition is mediated by photogeneration of polaronic species and not of singlet excitons.  相似文献

Chiroptical luminescence and circular dichroism measurements are reported for single crystals of Ho2Ge2O7. These crystals belong to the tetragonal space group P4,2,2 (or P43212) with Z=4. Each Ho3+ ion in the crystal structure is coordinated to seven oxygens to form a distorted pentagonal bipyramid. The Ho3+ ions exhibit luminescence from several excited multiplet levels; chiroptical luminescence spectra are reported for 6I86F6, 6S2, and 6F3 at a sample temperature of 10 K. Room-temperature absorption and circular dichroism measurements are reported for the 6I86F6, 5S2, 6F4, and 6F3 transition regions.  相似文献

We have studied theoretically and experimentally the fluorescence enhancement in fluoroborate glasses, doped with the ion Eu3+, containing small silver particles. The model developed shows that the gain coefficient has quenching and enhancement regions. The absorption peak of the metallic particles occurs at 425 nm, which is not in resonance with the 5L6 level of the ion Eu3+. For this reason it is not possible to make a complete comparison between theoretical and experimental results, but the structure of the absorption spectra allows us to check some crucial aspects of the problem, such as energy transfer, enhancement of the local field and the high absorption by the particle system. Results of electronic microscopy have revealed non-uniformity of the particle distribution with average radii of approximately 20 Å and 35 Å and a measured localized mean filling factor of 0.02.  相似文献

This paper deals with the role of dispersed lanthana as an active phase in several catalytic reactions: CO hydrogenation, CO oxidation, and oxidative dimerization of methane.

Characterization of the prepared catalysts indicates that lanthana can be effectively dispersed on silica and on ceria. While in the case of silica-supported catalysts lanthana appears at the surface, leading to an almost full coverage for loadings higher than 40%, in the case of ceria-based systems, lanthana forms a solid solution with the support.

In all the reactions studied, the presence of lanthana can be related to significant changes in the catalytic properties of the bare supports. Thus, the selectivity towards the total oxidation products observed on pure ceria is decreased, and the low activity shown by silica is enhanced. For the CO+H2 reaction, the addition of lanthana also generates upgraded products.  相似文献

The absorption spectrum of Cp3Sm·CNC6H11 has been measured at room temperature and at low temperatures in a hydrocarbon glass and in a KBr pellet. Electron paramagnetic resonance and magnetic susceptibility measurements are also reported in this paper. The observed optical bands were assigned on the basis of calculations which assumed that the crystal field parameters of the samarium complex were the same as for the previously analyzed Cp3Pr·CNC6H13. The parameters of an empirical Hamiltonian were fitted to the energies of 39 levels to give an r.m.s. deviation of 21 cm. On the basis of the wavefunctions of the crystal field ground state obtained from the fit, the ground state g values and the temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility were calculated and compared with the experimental values.  相似文献

The optimal operation of pumps in a large water supply system under time-of-use electricity rates is formulated as a mixed integer programming (MIP) problem. The problem is solved using an iterative linear programming (LP) scheme. The scheme is applied to an actual world problem, the City of Inglewood Water Supply System. Two important characteristics of a project network are the network's topology and the amount of resources available. Most published project scheduling procedures take one or both of these two characteristics into account. Project scheduling procedures that are robust over variations of network characteristics are desirable. The degree of robustness is generally gauged by one or more measures of performance.

The objective of this paper is to compare a set of priority rules that are useful for a single resource project scheduling problem. The set of networks suggested by Patterson (1973) is used along with the set of performance measures proposed by Khattab and Choobineh 1991. The result of this comparison allows one to design a multiattribute heuristic for a single resource project scheduling problem.  相似文献

This study was initiated to examine the dispersion of longitudinal and transverse waves in metal matrix composites in order to obtain the dynamic elastic modulus and to evaluate various models for predicting the composite's macroscopic elastic constants from the properties of its constituents. The materials chosen for this investigation were alumina continuous fibers on the one hand and alumina and SiC short fibers on the other hand, all embedded in an aluminum alloy matrix. In addition, some indications have been obtained experimentally for the acoustoelastic effect in the composite.  相似文献

In this work 23 month old rats were fed for 200 days with different protein diets (NT-diet: 19% protein, 72% of animal origin and LP-diet: 8.8% protein exclusively of vegetable origin). Some metabolic parameters and lifespan (on the base of a 50% death-rate) were determined. The relations of the liver free amino acids glycine + alanine and tyrosine + phenylalanine + branched chain amino acids and the ratio of phenylalanine/tyrosine were determined to be higher in the LP-group. Phenylalanine in liver and urea concentrations in liver and serum were lower in the LP-group. Furthermore the dopamine or serotonin levels were significantly lower in lateral and medial or lateral regions of the hypothalamus respectively in LP-diet fed rats. The norepinephrine content was not modified by the diets. The median lifespan of 23 month old rats was higher by 24% following LP-treatment. These results suggest that the protein component (amino acids) of different diets may modify metabolic parameters and lifespan of animals by mechanisms in which the central regulation may be involved.  相似文献
