The advent and proliferation of digital technologies purport to increase the innovation potential of most organizations. However, approximately 90% of new ideas never convert to new product or service deliveries because of the lack of organizational readiness. This paper conceptualizes a formative multidimensional construct to gauge organizational readiness for digital innovations. Such a construct would facilitate cumulative research on the role of digital innovation, while benchmarking to track organizational readiness. This study examines the effect of the resolution of uncertainty on real options exercise decisions with respect to three e‐commerce investment options: scale‐up, stage and joint investment, and the relationship between exercise of these options and firm performance. The results of a study of 172 public e‐commerce investment announcements show that resolution of external (exogenous) and internal (endogenous) uncertainty has a significant effect on option exercise decisions. However, the results also imply that simply waiting without investment in active learning does not create significant value from real options. The key differentiator is how a firm resolves endogenous uncertainty as this endows it with the ability to successfully undertake the information technology investment and exploit the economic opportunity implied by the resolution of exogenous uncertainty. Furthermore, our results imply that different options should be used to manage situations involving certainty of loss on one hand and severity of loss on the other hand. Thus, it is important for firms to make the right choices when using options‐based investing to manage risk. We suggest that, perhaps, managers need to maintain a portfolio of options to manage the two dimensions of risk simultaneously. 相似文献

Conventionally, Poisson’s equation coupled with 1-D Schrödinger’s equation is solved self-consistently in the triangular quantum well to calculate 2DEG density at the heterointerface. 2DEG density hence derived is a complicated transcendental function which cannot be solved analytically. Therefore, in this work, we use a simple expression for Fermi energy level to develop a compact physics-based 2D-analytical model for 2DEG density. The calculated 2DEG density from this model is validated with earlier reported experimental results. Using this 2DEG density, an expression for I-V characteristics of HEMTs has also been developed. The I-V characteristics of a buffer layer engineered MgZnO/CdZnO HEMT for improved 2DEG density have been analysed for the first time using developed model to the best of our knowledge. 相似文献

The ‘load distribution’ proposition in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) is accomplishing great stimulation. This is because of the phenomenal facets it possesses including advanced network resilience, reliability and performance. Though there are other leading network layer routing protocols, but they radically utilise single-path communication paradigm, which is why they fail in achieving efficient load distribution in a network. Via this paper, we propose an efficient cross-layer adaptive load distribution approach to capitalise network’s channel utilisation and to rapidly adapt to dynamic wireless channel characteristic changes. The proposed method modifies the load balanced congestion adaptive routing (LBCAR) protocol and is developed using dynamic load distribution technique, by pioneering (i) novel parameters, which report for the availability of route pertaining to minimum traffic load and better link lifetime and also adapt according to varying available network resources; (ii) an absolute dynamic method to lessen the redundant route oscillations which further reduces the routing instabilities. The simulation results demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method and yields better results in comparison to LBCAR and standard instead of dynamic ource outing, it is dynamic source routing (DSR) protocol. 相似文献

Non-Orthogonal Multiplex Access (NOMA) can be deployed in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) networks to improve spectrum efficiency. Due to the broadcasting feature of NOMA-UAV networks, it is essential to focus on the security of the wireless system. This paper focuses on maximizing the secrecy sum rate under the constraint of the achievable rate of the legitimate channels. To tackle the non-convexity optimization problem, a reinforcement learning-based alternative optimization algorithm is proposed. Firstly, with the help of successive convex approximations, the optimal power allocation scheme with a given UAV trajectory is obtained by using convex optimization tools. Afterwards, through plenty of explorations of the wireless environment, the Q-learning networks approach the optimal location transition strategy of the UAV, even without the wireless channel state information. 相似文献

It is a well known fact that morphological characteristics of aggregates influence the mechanical response of asphalt concrete (AC). Uncompacted void content (UVC) of aggregate is often related to their morphological characteristics. A detailed experimental study was performed to explore relationship between UVC and mechanical response of AC. Initially, aggregates were artificially smoothened using Los Angles abrasion testing machine. UVC was then evaluated using blended aggregates at five levels of smoothness/texture. Increasing aggregate smoothness resulted in decreased UVC values. Higher UVC was obtained with a finer gradation compared to coarse gradation. Three AC mixtures prepared using these smoothened aggregates were tested for their strength and flow properties. A linear, strong positive correlation was found between UVC and Marshall parameters (stability, Marshall quotient). This can be attributed to interparticle resistance developed during mechanical loading. Parabolic relations were found between UVC and retained Marshall parameters. The retained Marshall parameters was found to be a function of UVC. It is concluded that UVC can be effectively used to capture changes in aggregate morphology and AC response. 相似文献

A study of the thermoluminescence (TL) parameters has been performed on swift heavy ion exposed Bi3+ doped CaS nanophosphors prepared by the chemical co-precipitation method. All the samples have been exposed to 200 MeV Ag+15 ions in a fluence range of 1 × 1012–1 × 1013 ions/cm2. The prominent TL glow peak at 403 K (observed for the γ-irradiated sample) appeared at the same position in the 200 MeV Ag+15 ion beam irradiated samples, while the other peak at 466 K disappeared and the broad peak normally measured at 534 K split into two peaks at 535 K and 582 K for the Ag+15 ion beam irradiated samples. The effect of different Bi3+ concentration has been investigated and it was found that the maximum TL intensity was measured for the 0.08 mol% sample. The effect of different heating rates on the TL response has also been determined. The trapping parameters (i.e. activation energy, frequency factor, order of kinetic) of all the individual peaks of the glow curves have been analysed by using Chen’s formulae. The low fading and linear TL response in the range of 1 × 1012–1 × 1013 ions/cm2 will be helpful to explore the potential use of this material for heavy ion dosimetry. 相似文献
