In this paper, we consider the problem of scheduling lightpaths and computing resources for sliding grid demands in WDM networks. Each sliding grid demand is represented by a tuple (v,R,c,p,q,l) , where v is the client node, R is the resource-group which includes a group of predefined resource nodes, c is the required amount of computing resources, [p,q] is the time window and l is the demand duration. With each demand, the scheduling algorithm is required to decide the start time t (p les t les q - l), reserve an amount of c computing resources at a resource node v ' isin R and provision a primary lightpath as well as a backup lightpath from v ' to v . The reserved computing resources and lightpaths are used during [t,t + l]. Unlike the sequential approach wherein the start time, the network resources (lightpaths) and the computing resources are considered one after another, in our work we use the joint scheduling approach wherein the resources and the start time are examined jointly. We consider sliding demands with static and dynamic arrival patterns. We develop an integer linear programming (ILP) formulation to obtain optimal results. For the reason of scalability, we propose heuristic algorithms based on joint resource scheduling and study their effectiveness through simulation experiments. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: The proteases are among the most important groups of enzymes. Therefore, it is important to produce inexpensive and optimized media for large‐scale commercial production. In the present work, three different Shewanella species were screened on skim milk agar medium for their ability to produce alkaline protease. The effects of different culture conditions were optimized for alkaline protease production by S. oneidensis MR‐1 using a Box–Behnken design combined with response surface methodology (RSM). RESULTS: Highest yield (112.90 U mL?1) of protease production was obtained at pH 9.0, a temperature of 30 °C, glucose (12.5 g L?1), tryptone (12.5 g L?1) and an incubation period of 36 h. A second‐order polynomial regression model was used for analysis of the experiment. The experimental values were in good agreement with predicted values, with correlation coefficient 0.9996. CONCLUSION: Carbon and nitrogen, pH, temperature and incubation period were chosen as the main factors to be used in an experimental design for optimization to produce low‐cost enzymes, potentially for use on an industrial scale. Design of automotive components with over-molded short/continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites necessitates understanding of their behavior under extreme outdoor conditions. The short, quasi-isotropic and over-molded short/continuous glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite specimens were prepared as per standard and immersed in water until equilibration to study their relative moisture absorption characteristics and consequent mechanical behavior. As the absorbed moisture mostly occupied the interface between fiber and matrix in laminated composite inserts and moisture absorption of short fiber composite core is insignificant, the moisture absorption of over-molded composites is just above 50% of that of laminated composites. The flexural, interlaminar shear and impact behavior of equilibrated composites is primarily governed by the quantum of imbibed moisture of composite materials. Optical analysis of failed moisture equilibrated over-molded specimens showed a marginal delamination between plies of the inserts without any perceptible damage within the short fiber composite similar to dry as molded specimens. 相似文献

Hollow mesoporous one dimensional (1D) TiO(2) nanofibers are successfully prepared by co-axial electrospinning of a titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) solution with two immiscible polymers; polyethylene oxide (PEO) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) using a core-shell spinneret, followed by annealing at 450 °C. The annealed mesoporous TiO(2) nanofibers are found to having a hollow structure with an average diameter of 130 nm. Measurements using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method reveal that hollow mesoporous TiO(2) nanofibers possess a high surface area of 118 m(2) g(-1) with two types of mesopores; 3.2 nm and 5.4 nm that resulted from gaseous removal of PEO and PVP respectively during annealing. With hollow mesoporous TiO(2) nanofibers as the photoelectrode in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC), the solar-to-current conversion efficiency (η) and short circuit current (J(sc)) are measured as 5.6% and 10.38 mA cm(-2) respectively, which are higher than those of DSSC made using regular TiO(2) nanofibers under identical conditions (η = 4.2%, J(sc) = 8.99 mA cm(-2)). The improvement in the conversion efficiency is mainly attributed to the higher surface area and mesoporous TiO(2) nanostructure. It facilitates the adsorption of more dye molecules and also promotes the incident photon to electron conversion. Hollow mesoporous TiO(2) nanofibers with close packing of grains and crystals intergrown with each other demonstrate faster electron diffusion, and longer electron recombination time than regular TiO(2) nanofibers as well as P25 nanoparticles. The surface effect of hollow mesoporous TiO(2) nanofibers as a photocatalyst for the degradation of rhodamine dye was also investigated. The kinetic study shows that the hollow mesoporous surface of the TiO(2) nanofibers influenced its interactions with the dye, and resulted in an increased catalytic activity over P25 TiO(2) nanocatalysts. 相似文献

Efficient flooding agents are required to produce additional oil from mature reservoir. In this work, oil-in-water Pickering emulsion systems stabilized using nanoparticles, surfactant, and polymer have been developed and tested for enhanced oil recovery with and without a conventional polymer flood. Stability of nanoparticles in the dispersion of surfactant-polymer solution was tested using zeta-potential before use. Several flooding experiments have been conducted using Berea core samples at 13.6 MPa and temperatures of 313 and 353 K. It has been observed that a combination of 0.5 PV polymer flood with 0.5 PV Pickering emulsion was efficient and have resulted in 1–6% additional oil recovery as compared to 0.5 PV Pickering emulsion flooding alone. The injection of polymer flood have shown to enhance the pressure drop in the core sample after emulsion flooding and considered as an important factor for an additional recovery of oil. The effect of temperature on the viscosity of flooding agents in relation to pressure drop and oil recovery have also been investigated. Viscosity and pressure drop of emulsion flood systems have shown to marginally decrease with increase in temperature. Studies on nanoparticle retention using SEM have shown that nanoparticles were retained in the core sample during emulsion flooding which may be detrimental for permeability of core sample. It is observed that Pickering emulsion flood with polymer flood would be effective for the enhanced oil recovery suitable for matured reservoirs. 相似文献

Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) epoxy resin system filled individually with organoclay (OC) and unmodified clay (UC) were synthesized by mechanical shear mixing with the addition of diamino-diphenylmethane (DDM) hardener. The unmodified clay used was Na+-Montmorillonite (MMT) and the organoclay was alkyl ammonium treated MMT clay. The reinforcement effect of OC and UC in the epoxy polymer on thermal, mechanical and vibration properties were studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to study the structure and morphology of nanocomposites. Curing study shows that the addition of OC in epoxy resin aids the polymerization by catalytic effect, and UC addition does not show any effect in the curing behavior of epoxy polymer. Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) shows enhanced thermal stability for epoxy with OC fillers than that of epoxy with UC fillers. The epoxy with OC fillers shows considerable improvement on tensile and impact properties over pure epoxy polymer and epoxy with UC fillers. The improvement in tensile and impact properties of nanocomposites is supported with the fracture surface studies. Epoxy with OC fillers shows enhanced vibration characteristics than that of the pure epoxy polymer and epoxy with UC fillers. 相似文献

The dissolution behaviour of stellite #3 in two oxidizing agents of equivalent acidity namely, permanganic acid (HMnO4) and a mixture of nitric acid and potassium permanganate (NP) was evaluated. The presence of nitrate in the permanganate
formulation was found to reduce its efficiency for oxidizing stellite. Electrochemical polarization and impedance studies
were carried out at 90 °C in NP and HMnO4. The redox potential of both the oxidizing agents favoured transpassive dissolution of chromium from the alloy. In NP, only
the chromium depleted inter-phase boundary was attacked while most of the chromium rich carbide phases were intact. In contrast,
in HMnO4, uniform corrosion of the surface was observed. The impedance response was found to change with duration of exposure. The
nitrate ions in permanganate were found to promote the repassivation of the surface. HMnO4 was found to be a better formulation for dissolving cobalt from the alloy as compared to NP. 相似文献
