We discuss and implement a wavelet-modified maximum average correlation height (MACH) filter for 0 degrees -360 degrees in-plane rotations in a hybrid digital-optical correlator. Use of a wavelet transform improves the performance of the MACH filter by reducing the number of filters that are required to identify a target rotated at any angle between 0 degrees and 360 degrees in-plane rotations and enhances the autocorrelation peak intensity significantly. The output of a hybrid digital-optical correlator contains two autocorrelation peaks and a strong dc. Using a chirp function with the wavelet-modified MACH filter, the correlation signals are focused in three different planes. Thus placing a peak-capturing CCD camera at a particular plane, only one autocorrelation peak is recorded, discarding the strong dc and other autocorrelation peaks. A signal-to-noise ratio has been calculated as a metric of goodness of the proposed wavelet-modified MACH filter.  相似文献

It has been observed that, compared to bulk form, the nanocrystalline α-Fe2O3 is finding application in various areas. Magnetic properties of α-Fe2O3 are found to be influenced by the size of particles and are also sensitive to synthesis method employed for sample preparation. In the present work we have prepared a series of Nd doped α-Fe2−xO3 samples (x = 0.0–0.5) by combustion method, without using any fuel. The analysis of room temperature neutron diffraction patterns shows that all the compounds of the series form in the hematite (α-Fe2O3) structure, space group R−3c. Magnetization measurements show that there is a broad distribution of particle size in the samples. We find that the increase in the Nd content results in the dilution of magnetism of α-Fe2O3. From results we believe that inclusion of Nd in α-Fe2O3 drastically modifies the magnetic properties.  相似文献

Though bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) is extensively used as a photoactive material, its performance in harnessing solar energy is limited by ineffective separation of photo-excited charge carriers. We demonstrate here a concept of n-n+ homojunction of BiVO4/BiV1-xMnxO4-y, which improves its charge separation efficiency. Using first-principles theoretical calculations, we determine the effect of Mn substitution on oxygen vacancy formation energies and associated changes in the electronic structure of BiVO4. Showing that Mn substitution pushes the Fermi level of BiVO4 towards its conduction band, we predict that the associated enhanced bending of bands at the homojunction (BiVO4/BiV1-xMnxO4-y) facilitates efficient separation of charge carriers. With Mott-Schottky experiments, we verify the increased band bending at the n-n+ homojunction, and show that the maximum photocurrent density measured in a sample with n-n+ homojunction is ten times higher than that obtained of the pristine sample. Secondly, Mn substitution in BiVO4 also reduces the oxygen vacancy formation energy, promoting higher concentration of O-vacancies, further enhancing the photoelectrochemical response.  相似文献

The tribological properties of poly(ether–ether–ketone) (PEEK)/aluminum nitride (AlN) composites reinforced with micro‐ and nano‐AlN particles were evaluated under dry sliding conditions. The wear resistance of pure PEEK is 10‐fold higher than mild steel. It was further improved by 2‐fold at 20 wt % micro‐AlN and by more than 4‐fold at 30 wt % nano‐AlN composite compared with pure PEEK. The improvement in wear resistance was attributed to a thin and coherent transfer film. However, it was deteriorated on further increasing micro‐AlN. The coefficient of friction of the composites was increased. Inhibitors and oxide additives have been investigated with varying success to control high-temperature corrosion. Effect of Y2O3 on high-temperature corrosion of Superni 718 and Superni 601 superalloys was investigated in the Na2SO4-60 pct V2O5 environment at 1173 K (900 °C) for 50 cycles. Y2O3 was applied as a coating on the surfaces of the specimens. Superni 601 was found to have better corrosion resistance in comparison with Superni 718 in the Na2SO4-60 pct V2O5 environment. The Y2O3 superficial coating was successful in decreasing the reaction rate for both the superalloys. In the oxide scale of the alloy Superni 601, Y and V were observed to coexist, thereby indicating the formation of a protective YVO4 phase. There was a distinct presence of a protective Cr2O3-rich layer just above the substrate/scale interface in the alloy. Whereas Cr2O3 was present with Fe and Ni in the scale of Superni 718. Y2O3 seemed to be contributing to better adhesion of the scale, as comparatively lesser spalling was noticed in the presence of Y2O3.  相似文献

Spontaneous self‐assembly of a multication nanophase in another multication matrix phase is a promising bottom‐up approach to fabricate novel, nanocomposite structures for a range of applications. In an effort to understand the mechanisms for such self‐assembly, complimentary experimental and theoretical studies are reported to first understand and then control or guide the self‐assembly of insulating BaZrO3 (BZO) nanodots within REBa2Cu3O7–δ (RE = rare earth elements including Y, REBCO) superconducting films. The strain field developed around BZO nanodots embedded in the REBCO matrix is a key driving force dictating the self‐assembly of BZO nanodots along REBCO c‐axis. The size selection and spatial ordering of BZO self‐assembly are simulated using thermodynamic and kinetic models. The BZO self‐assembly is controllable by tuning the interphase strain field. REBCO superconducting films with BZO defect arrays self‐assembled to align in both vertical (REBCO c‐axis) and horizontal (REBCO ab‐planes) directions result in the maximized pinning and Jc performance for all field angles with smaller angular Jc anisotropy. The work has broad implications for the fabrication of controlled self‐assembled nanostructures for a range of applications via strain‐tuning.  相似文献

Energy demand is increasing continuously due to rapid growth in population and industrialization development. The development of energy sources is not keeping pace with spiraling consumption. Even developed countries are not able to compensate even after increasing the energy production multifold. The major energy demand is provided from the conventional energy sources such as coal, oil, natural gas, etc. Two major problems, which every country is facing with these conventional fuels, are depletion of fossil fuels and deterioration of environment.The present review article aims to highlight various biochemical processes for conversion of biomass into biological hydrogen gas and ethanol. The present discussion focuses on hydrogen production through various routes viz. fermentative, photosynthesis and biological water gas shift reaction. In addition, emphasis has been laid on ethanol as biomass-based energy fuel. The discussion has been focused on the technology for ethanol production from various biomass sources such as molasses, lignocellulosic feedstock and starch. Various biochemical processes and their major steps involved during the ethanol production from biomass have been discussed in detail.  相似文献

In this paper, Taguchi L 18 orthogonal array have been employed for depositing the electro-conductive coatings by varying various process parameters, i.e., substrate material, type of powder feeding arrangement, stagnation gas temperature, stagnation gas pressure, and stand-off distance. The response parameter of the coatings so produced is measured in terms of surface roughness. The optimum process parameters are predicted on the basis of analyses (ANOVA) of the raw data and signal to noise ratio. The significant process parameters in order of their decreasing percentage contribution are: stagnation pressure, stand-off distance, substrate material, stagnation temperature of the carrier gas, and feed arrangement of the powder particles, respectively.  相似文献

As part of an effort to develop a new, non-vacuum-processed substrate for high current superconducting films, thin films of LaAlO3 and NdAlO3 were deposited on biaxially textured (100) nickel substrates using a solution deposition technique. On heating to 1150°C in Ar-4% H2 for 1 h, epitaxial films were obtained. Out-of-plane alignment was confirmed by obtaining rocking curves of the (002) plane of the LaAlO3 (full width at half-maximum (fwhm) = 7.2°) and the NdAlO3 (fwhm = 5.8°) films. In-plane alignment was demonstrated by obtaining phi scans of the (110) plane of the LaAlO3 (fwhm = 13.4°) and the NdAlO3 (fwhm = 8.8°) films. Grain alignment in the films is approximately equivalent to the alignment of the Ni substrate. Analysis of pole figures indicated that in both films there are two in-plane orientations present, the major being (001)[100] and the minor (001)[110].  相似文献
