The knowledge and skills of psychology can be useful in developing countries where indigenous mental health resources are sometimes scarce. Although it may be useful for psychologists to provide short-term training in developing countries, the potential for long-term change is best accomplished by investing in training students from developing countries, especially those committed to returning to their homeland after completing their training. Three "investment strategies" are suggested for training students from developing countries: faculty awareness, intentional mentoring, and facilitated launching. Interpolymer complexes and blends were prepared based on poly(acrylic acid) and hydroxypropylcellulose. The structural features of polycomplexes and blends were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy and thermal analysis. It was found that the interpolymer complex obtained as a result of co‐precipitation of the polymeric components is characterized by an uniform structure which indicates the complete miscibility between the components. Films were prepared based on blends of neutralized poly(acrylic acid) and hydroxypropylcellulose. Cytochrome bd is a triheme copper-free terminal oxidase in membrane respiratory chains of prokaryotes. This unique molecular machine couples electron transfer from quinol to O2 with the generation of a proton motive force without proton pumping. Apart from energy conservation, the bd enzyme plays an additional key role in the microbial cell, being involved in the response to different environmental stressors. Cytochrome bd promotes virulence in a number of pathogenic species that makes it a suitable molecular drug target candidate. Mitotic catastrophe is a defensive mechanism that promotes elimination of cells with aberrant mitosis by triggering the cell-death pathways and/or cellular senescence. Nowadays, it is known that apoptosis, autophagic cell death, and necrosis could be consequences of mitotic catastrophe. Here, we demonstrate the ability of a DNA-damaging agent, doxorubicin, at 600 nM concentration to stimulate mitotic catastrophe. We observe that the inhibition of caspase activity leads to accumulation of cells with mitotic catastrophe hallmarks in which RIP1-dependent necroptotic cell death is triggered. The suppression of autophagy by a chemical inhibitor or ATG13 knockout upregulates RIP1 phosphorylation and promotes necroptotic cell death. Thus, in certain conditions mitotic catastrophe, in addition to apoptosis and autophagy, can precede necroptosis. 相似文献

Using grazing incidence small angle neutron scattering (GISANS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technologies, the spatial structure of Co magnetic nanowire array deposited in porous anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) template was studied. The theoretical GISANS pattern was simulated by means of the computer software. The result shows that the experimental GISANS result, the simulated GISANS result and the SEM result agree well with each other. The diameter of the nanowire is about 60 nm, and the average distance between the centers of the nanowire is about 121 nm. The nanowires are arranged perpendicularly to the surface of the sample and parallel to each other. It is proved that the GISANS technology combined with computer simulation is a powerful tool for studying nanowire array and similar nanostructure. 相似文献

Complete and incomplete additive/multiplicative pairwise comparison matrices are applied in preference modelling, multi-attribute decision making and ranking. The equivalence of two well known methods is proved in this paper. The arithmetic (geometric) mean of weight vectors, calculated from all spanning trees, is proved to be optimal to the (logarithmic) least squares problem, not only for complete, as it was recently shown in Lundy, M., Siraj, S., Greco, S. (2017): The mathematical equivalence of the “spanning tree” and row geometric mean preference vectors and its implications for preference analysis, European Journal of Operational Research 257(1) 197–208, but for incomplete matrices as well. Unlike the complete case, where an explicit formula, namely the row arithmetic/geometric mean of matrix elements, exists for the (logarithmic) least squares problem, the incomplete case requires a completely different and new proof. Finally, Kirchhoff's laws for the calculation of potentials in electric circuits is connected to our results. 相似文献
