The p--T relationships have been measured for 1,1-difluoroethane (R152a) and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (R143a) by an isochoric method with gravimetric determinations of the amount of substance. Temperatures ranged from 158 to 400 K for R152a and from 166 to 400 K for R143a, while pressures were up to 35 MPa. Measurements were conducted on compressed liquid samples. Determinations of saturated liquid densities were made by extrapolating each isochore to the vapor pressure, and determining the temperature and density at the intersection. Published p--T data are in good agreement with this study. For the p--T apparatus, the uncertainty of the temperature is ±0.03 K, and for pressure it is ±0.01% at p>3 MPa and ±0.05% at p<3 MPa. The principal source of uncertainty is the cell volume (28.5 cm3), which has a standard uncertainty of ±0.003 cm3. When all components of experimental uncertainty are considered, the expanded relative uncertainty (with a coverage factor k=2 and thus a two-standard deviation estimate) of the density measurements is estimated to be ±0.05%.  相似文献

Undergraduate courses in electromechanical energy conversion are typically oriented toward the steady-state analysis of electrical machines. The advent of low-cost computer power and the availability of numerical software tools provide the opportunity to fundamentally reorient the pedagogical approach to the topic. A new approach is consistent with the developing need to emphasize the study of new machine designs and machines employed for control purposes as well as machines for use in more traditional power applications. This paper presents the results obtained from simulations developed as an integral part of an undergraduate electrical machines course at the University of Dayton, USA. Sample simulation files are presented to demonstrate the ease with which the matrix model of the machine is transferred to the program. The matrix models and simulation results of the following machines are included: the single-phase transformer; the variable-reluctance machine; the cylindrical-rotor dual-winding machine; the symmetrical two-phase induction motor; a PWM-controlled DC machine; and an inverter-driven brushless machine. Selectivity patterns for the sorption of organic vapors from the gas phase into cavitand monolayers on acoustic wave sensors are very similar to those seen for sorption of the same vapors by amorphous polymers, demonstrating that the vapor/cavitand selectivity patterns are determined primarily by solubility interactions. The amorphous polymers serve as controls demonstrating that the three-dimensional structure of a cavitand layer is not primarily responsible for the selectivity observed. Binding and selectivity in the examples cited are governed primarily by general dispersion interactions and not by specific oriented interactions that could lead to molecular recognition.  相似文献

The determination of cobalt and nickel in aqueous solutions by stripping voltammetry after adsorptive preconcentration is an established procedure. The method is highly sensitive, but there is some controversy concerning the reasons for the excellent sensitivity. Using a variety of voltammetric techniques, we have determined that the reduction of nickel dimethylglyoximate in an ammonia buffer is consistent with an overall process involving 16 or possibly 18 electrons. This hypothesis is confirmed by independently measuring the total quantity of metal adsorptively deposited on the mercury electrode and comparing the amount with the quantity of electricity required for its reduction.  相似文献
