Over the past few years, large human populations around the world have been affected by an increase in significant seismic activities. For both conducting basic scientific research and for setting critical government policies, it is crucial to be able to explore and understand seismic and geographical information obtained through all scientific instruments. In this work, we present a visual analytics system that enables explorative visualization of seismic data together with satellite-based observational data, and introduce a suite of visual analytical tools. Seismic and satellite data are integrated temporally and spatially. Users can select temporal ;and spatial ranges to zoom in on specific seismic events, as well as to inspect changes both during and after the events. Tools for designing high dimensional transfer functions have been developed to enable efficient and intuitive comprehension of the multi-modal data. Spread-sheet style comparisons are used for data drill-down as well as presentation. Comparisons between distinct seismic events are also provided for characterizing event-wise differences. During the past decade, feature extraction and knowledge acquisition based on video analysis have been extensively researched and tested on many applications such as closed-circuit television(CCTV)data analysis, large-scale public event control, and other daily security monitoring and surveillance operations with various degrees of success. However, since the actual video process is a multi-phased one and encompasses extensive theories and techniques ranging from fundamental image processing, computational geometry and graphics, and machine vision, to advanced artificial intelligence, pattern analysis, and even cognitive science, there are still many important problems to resolve before it can be widely applied. Among them, video event identification and detection are two prominent ones. Comparing with the most popular frame-to-frame processing mode of most of today's approaches and systems, this project reorganizes video data as a 3D volume structure that provides the hybrid spatial and temporal information in a unified space. This paper reports an innovative technique to transform original video frames to 3D volume structures denoted by spatial and temporal features. It then highlights the volume array structure in a so-called "pre-suspicion" mechanism for a later process. The focus of this report is the development of an effective and efficient voxel-based segmentation technique suitable to the volumetric nature of video events and ready for deployment in 3D clustering operations. In this paper, we present a novel and robust road tracking system for vision-based personal navigation. Novelty of the work
includes the use of multiple Condensation filters to track the road of arbitrary shape and automatic switching between trackers
according to road conditions. The approach allows the road to be represented as a simple hyperbola. It also supports the representation
of the road as a sequence of connected arcs/segments so that information from a digital map can be integrated into tracking.
The parameters of the hyperbola road model are estimated using multiple vanishing points located in image strips. The road
tracking method is robust in dealing with complex road shapes, background clutters, shadows, and road markings. Experiments

The present study is an analysis of pressure-driven electrokinetic flows in hydrophobic microchannels with emphasis on the slip effects under coupling of interfacial electric and fluid slippage phenomena. Commonly used linear model with slip-independent zeta potential and the nonlinear model at limiting (high-K) condition with slip-dependent zeta potential are solved analytically. Then, numerical solutions of the electrokinetic flow model with zeta potential varying with slip length are analyzed. Different from the general notion of “the more hydrophobic the channel wall, the higher the flowrate,” the results with slip-independent and slip-dependent zeta potentials both disclose that flowrate becomes insensitive to the wall hydrophobicity or fluid slippage at sufficiently large slip lengths. Boundary slip not only assists fluid motion but also enhances counter-ions transport in EDL and, thus, results in strong streaming potential as well as electrokinetic retardation. With slip-dependent zeta potential considered, flowrate varies non-monotonically with increasing slip length due to competition of the favorable and adverse effects with more complicated interactions. The influence of the slip on the electrokinetic flow is eventually nullified at large slip lengths for balance of the counter effects, and the flowrate becomes insensitive to further hydrophobicity of the microchannel. The occurrence of maximum, minimum, and insensitivity on the flowrate-slip curves can be premature at a higher zeta potential and/or larger electrokinetic separation distance. 相似文献

In infrastructure financed projects, in order to attract private investors, host governments often provide some guarantees.
This paper develops a value model of minimum revenue guarantee with multiple-exercise real options under the impact of the
emergency incident. The model is applied to infrastructure financed projects using the minimum revenue guarantee under simulation.
The simulation results indicate that, before quantifying the value of the minimum revenue guarantee, it is necessary to forecast
the jump degree and intensity of the emergency incident, as well as prevent and control risks arising from such emergencies.
Otherwise, underestimation of the guarantee value will occur and the government will have to bear huge debt in this condition.
We also analyze the dependence of the guaranteed value on the minimum guaranteed revenue level, initial revenue and number

“Emergency medicine” is the front line of medical service a hospital provides; also it is the department people seek medical care from immediately after an emergency happens. The statistics by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan, indicate that over years, the number of people at the emergency department has been increasing. The US has introduced and practiced the triage system in the emergency medicine in 1960, whereby to aid the emergency department in allocating the patients, to give them appropriate medical care by the fast decision of the nurses and doctors in case of the patients’ seriousness through their judgment.This study takes on the knowledge contained in the massive data of unknown characteristics in the triage database at a Taiwanese regional hospital, using the cluster analysis and the rough set theory as tools for data mining to extract, with the analysis software ROSE2 (Rough Sets Data Explorer) and through rule induction technique, the imprecise, uncertain and vague information of rules from the massive database, and builds the model that is capable of simplifying massive data while maintaining the accuracy in classifying rules. After analyzing and evaluating the knowledge obtained from relevant mining in the hospitals past medical data for the consumption of emergency medical resources, this thesis proposes suggestions as reference for the hospitals in subsequent elevation of medical quality and decrease in operative costs. 相似文献
