We propose a unique all-fiber Q-switched erbium-doped fiber ring laser. It consists of a phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and an apodized FBG reflector. By using the piezoelectric transducer (PZT) to periodically stretch the apodized FBG and detune it with the phases-shifted FBG, the cavity loss of the fiber ring laser is switched between high and low states to achieve Q-switching. This Q-switched fiber laser has advantages of narrow spectral bandwidth, stable oscillation wavelength, and the repetition rate of the Q-switched pulses can be double of the PZT modulation frequency. A numerical model is developed and presented to simulate and analyze this FBGs-based Q-switched fiber ring laser with consideration of the dynamic response of FBGs during Q-switching. We experimentally demonstrate 10 and 20 kHz Q-switching operation with 10 kHz PZT modulation frequency. The experimental result is similar to the simulation result. 相似文献

We present a simple and stable single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) erbium-doped fiber laser. It consists of an apodized fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and a high finesse FBG-based Fabry-Perot (FP) etalon in the ring cavity. The apodized FBG acts as a wavelength discriminative component selecting a few oscillation modes while the FP etalon serves as narrow bandwidth bandpass filter to further discriminate and select SLM efficiently. Stable SLM laser output at 1.55 m with linewidth about 2.5 kHz is acquired. Furthermore, continuous wavelength tuning over 8 nm is achieved by simultaneously applying strain to the FBG and the FP etalon. 相似文献

It was reported in a previous study that the Sn-6Bi-2Ag-0.5Cu solder alloy had great potential to replace leaded alloys. This alloy was prepared by mechanical alloying, and had the advantage of providing a high percentage of supersaturate solution of bismuth in tin. In the present paper, the microstructural evolution of surface-mount joints during aging was examined. In the as-soldered joints, small bismuth and Ag3Sn particles of about 1 mum in size were found to be finely dispersed in a nearly pure tin matrix with a small amount of eta-Cu6Sn5 phase in the bulk of solder. During aging, microstructural evolution of solder joints occurred. These include Cu-Sn intermetallic compound (IMC) layer growth at the interface between solder and copper pad on the printed circuit board, as well as bismuth phase and Ag3Sn phase coarsening. The shear strength of the solder joints decreased parabolically with the increase in IMC layer thickness, such that taus=22.22-radic22.05(t-1.88), where taus is the shear strength in MPa and t (>1.88) is the total IMC layer thickness in micrometers. The microstructure of solder appeared to be stable under aging at elevated temperatures up to about 160degC. Above this temperature, brittle and porous IMC epsiv-Cu3Sn appeared at the copper/eta-Cu6Sn 5 interface. We present the signal gain, wavelength tuning characteristics, saturation properties, and noise figure (NF) of MEMS-based widely tunable vertical-cavity semiconductor optical amplifiers (VCSOAs) for various optical cavity designs, and we compare the theoretical results to data generated from a number of experimental devices. Using general Fabry-Pe/spl acute/rot relationships, it is possible to model both the wavelength tuning characteristics and the peak signal gain of tunable vertical-cavity amplifiers, while a rate-equation analysis is used to describe the saturation output power and NF as a function of the VCSOA resonant wavelength. Additionally, the basic design principles for an integrated electrostatic actuator are outlined. It is found that MEMS-tunable VCSOAs follow many of the same design trends as fixed-wavelength devices. However, with tunable devices, the effects of varying mirror reflectance and varying single-pass gain associated with the MEMS-based tuning mechanism lead to changing amplifier properties over the wavelength span of the device. 相似文献

The effects of an attack connection can propagate quickly to different parts of an all-optical transparent network. Such attacks affect the normal traffic and can either cause service degradation or outright service denial. Quick detection and localization of an attack source can avoid losing large amounts of data in an all-optical network. Attack monitors can collect the information from connections and nodes for diagnostic purpose. However, to detect attack sources, it is not necessary to put monitors at all nodes. Since those connections affected by the attack connection would provide valuable information for diagnosis, we show that by placing a relatively small number of monitors on a selected set of nodes in a network is sufficient to achieve the required level of performance. However, the actual monitor placement, routing, and attack diagnosis are challenging problems that need research attention. In this paper, we first develop our models of crosstalk attack and monitor node. With these models, we prove the necessary and sufficient condition for one-crosstalk-attack diagnosable networks. Next, we develop a scalable diagnosis method which can localize the attack connection efficiently with sparse monitor nodes in the network. 相似文献

A six-port Ka-band front-end architecture based on direct conversion for a software-defined radio application is proposed in this paper. The direct conversion is accomplished using six-port technology. In order to demodulate various phase-shift-keying/quadrature-amplitude-modulation (PSK/QAM) modulated signals at a high bit rate, a new analog baseband circuit was specially designed according to the I/Q equations presented in the theoretical part. An experimental prototype has been fabricated and measured. Simulation and measurement results for binary PSK, quaternary PSK (QPSK), 8 PSK, 16 PSK, and 16 QAM modulated signals at a bit rate up to 40 Mb/s are presented to validate the proposed approach. A software-defined radio can be designed using the new front-end and only two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) because the I/Q output signals are generated by analog means. Previous six-port receivers make use of four ADCs to read the six-port dc levels and require digital computations to generate the I/Q output signals. With the proposed approach, the load of the signal processor will therefore be reduced and the modulation speed can be significantly increased using the same digital signal processor. 相似文献

A compact design of the single-layer slotted microstrip patch antenna is presented, which has two highly decoupled orthogonal input ports and is capable of generating dual-polarised radiation. The proposed antenna displays a desired characteristic for reducing polarisation loss between the transmitting and receiving antenna units at arbitrary angles. The measured results show that the proposed antenna with resonance frequency at 5.93 GHz has a bandwidth of about 300 MHz, an average gain of greater than 8 dBi, and an input isolation of exceeding 20 dB for the entire impedance bandwidths of the two polarisations. 相似文献
