An atomistic-continuum inhomogeneous material model for the elastic bending of metal nanocantilevers
The equivalent elastic modulus of nanocantilever can be obtained using atomistic simulation. However, the use of this modulus to predict the bending of nanocantilever results in significant error compared with direct atomistic simulation. The error originates from the surface effect. In our current work, the nanocantilever is considered as an inhomogeneous continuum material. The distributions of materials parameters at the cross-section, such as atomistic elastic constants, are calculated from atomistic simulations. These atomistic-information-based materials parameters are used as inputs to continuum model. A numerical example case validates the presented model and methodology. To correctly predict the structure-property relations of elemental nano-structures are very important for the design of nano-devices. We present a stochastic mapping technique for robust speech recognition that uses stereo data. The idea is based on constructing a Gaussian mixture model for the joint distribution of the clean and noisy features and using this distribution to predict the clean speech during testing. The proposed mapping is called stereo-based stochastic mapping (SSM). Two different estimators are considered. One is iterative and is based on the maximum a posteriori (MAP) criterion while the other uses the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. The resulting estimators are effectively a mixture of linear transforms weighted by component posteriors, and the parameters of the linear transformations are derived from the joint distribution. Compared to the uncompensated result, the proposed method results in 45% relative improvement in word error rate (WER) for digit recognition in the car. In the same setting, SSM outperforms SPLICE and gives similar results to MMSE compensation of Huang A 66% relative improvement in word error rate (WER) is observed when applied in conjunction with multistyle training (MST) for large vocabulary English speech recognition in a real environment. Also, the combination of the proposed mapping with CMLLR leads to about 38% relative improvement in performance compared to CMLLR alone for real field data. 相似文献

Systematic errors in phase-measuring profilometry that are introduced by the modulation transfer function of a digital image-acquisition device are analyzed. New phase expressions and phase-deviation formulas are given. The results for simulations and experiments demonstrate that the algorithm of phase-measuring profilometry cannot be regarded as a point-to-point operation. Translucent scattering phantoms hidden inside a 5.5-cm-thick Intralipid solution were imaged as a function of phantom scattering coefficients by the use of a picosecond time- and space-gated Kerr-Fourier imaging system. A microscope-coherent optical processor is used for the measurement of the registration errors on integrated-circuit wafers. The measurements are obtained from the optical correlation of wafers with reference wafer patterns by use of matched spatial filters. Previously, the intricate pattern of the active circuit area of wafers has been used in the correlation process, and a new matched spatial filter had to be created for each different integrated circuit. Here, the results of using comparatively plain fiducial markers on a wafer for the registration-error measurement are presented, and these show that the measurements can be made independent of the design of the integrated circuit while maintaining the advantages and accuracy of the optical correlation technique. 相似文献

Due to air turbulence, large areas of coal will fall when the special coal-transportation trains pass the tunnel exits and entrances. Aiming at the problems of low efficiency and high cost of manual cleaning for long distance coal cleaning in the tunnel, a new railway tunnel fallen coal dust collection device which was composed of a main conveying coal feeding pipe and multiple branch pipes of coal suction was designed. It was used to clean the small particles and lightweight railway tunnel fallen coal. Firstly, the gas-solid two-phase flow model based on the Euler-Lagrange approach for the design of the main conveying coal feeding pipe was established in the coal conveying pipelines. Secondly, the effect of the coal particles' incident angle and multiple branch pipe spacing on the main coal conveying pipe flow field, which was based on Fluent finite element simulation software, was studied. What was more, the optimal angle of incidence and the optimal value of the number of branch coal suction pipe, which was installed on the main conveying pipe, were analyzed. Finally, the finite element simulation was verified by field test. Simulation and experimental results showed that it was more conducive to the railway tunnel fallen coal transportation when coal particles' incident angle was less than 45° and the branch pipe spacing was in the vicinity of 750 mm. For that when incident angle was less than 45°, the main conveying coal pipe pressure-drop became weaker and particle flow could obtain large horizontal transport velocity. And when the branch pipe spacing was in the vicinity of 750 mm, the horizontal transport velocity had a smaller fluctuation range and the transportation of coal was larger than that of the other groups. The research results are of great significance to improve the structure of the main conveying coal pipe, increase the efficiency of tunnel coal conveying and optimize the railway tunnel coal dust collection device. 相似文献
