The effects of the pore diameter, bath surface pressure, and nozzle diameter on the bubble formation from a porous bottom nozzle placed in a water bath and on the behavior of rising bubbles were investigated with still and high-speed video cameras and a two-needle electroresistivity probe. Three types of bubble dispersion patterns were observed with respect to gas flow rate, and they were named the low, medium, and high gas flow rate regimes. The transition boundaries between these gas flow rate regimes were expressed in terms of the superficial velocity at the nozzle exit, i.e., the volumetric gas flow rate per unit nozzle surface area. These transition boundaries were dependent on the pore diameter but hardly dependent on the bath surface pressure and the porous nozzle diameter. The characteristics of rising bubbles in each gas flow rate regime were investigated as functions of the three parameters.  相似文献

The effect of the vanadium content on the cyclic stability of V–Ti binary alloys was investigated. V1−xTix, x = 0.2 and 0.5 samples were hydrogenated and dehydrogenated at 410 K and 553 K respectively, for more than 100 times. During hydrogen cycling, reduction in the reversible hydrogen storage capacity was clearly observed from both samples. No prominent V-effect was found. In fact, the reduction rates of two samples were similar; both samples showed a ∼25% reduction in the reversible hydrogen storage capacity after 100 cycles. In addition, the shape of the pressure–composition-isotherm (PCT) curves was significantly altered over the testing cycle period; the absorption and desorption plateaus got markedly inclined and the hysteresis became evidently smaller. We found that even after the hydrogen storage capacity of V1−xTix was significantly reduced, at low enough temperature V1−xTix was able to absorb hydrogen as much as it did at the first cycle. Furthermore, the reversible hydrogen storage capacity of V0.8Ti0.2 at 410 K was recovered to a certain degree after hydrogenating the sample at low temperatures.  相似文献

Methods using high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FL) and using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) were developed for simultaneous determination of ochratoxin A (OTA), ochratoxin B (OTB) and citrinin (CIT) in cereal, fruit, and coffee products. The samples were extracted with ethyl acetate under an acidic condition, and then cleaned up with liquid-liquid separation. The test solutions were analyzed by reverse-phase HPLC-FL and LC/MS/MS. Mass spectral acquisition was performed in positive ion mode by applying multiple reaction monitoring. The performances of both detectors were almost equivalent. The recoveries of OTA and OTB were 87-111%, and that of CIT were 70-88%. The limits of quantification (S/N> or =10) of OTA, OTB and CIT was 0.1 mug/kg or less. These methods were considered to be useful for the determination of the three mycotoxins at low levels (0.1 microg/kg).  相似文献

Gas-liquid interfacial profiles in plug flow for both upward and downward flows were obtained using semi-supermultiple point-electrode probes, comprising 67 sensing tips arranged on a tube diameter. Typical interfacial profiles are demonstrated for both flows. Close inspection of the profiles reveals that four zones exist in a pair of gas and liquid slugs for upward plug flow and a high slip velocity region in downward plug flow. The lengths of the swelling liquid front zone and the wake zone were determined. The length of the wake zone strongly depends on the relative velocity between the liquid film around the gas slug and the liquid phase in the liquid slug. Characteristic distributions of bubbles within liquid slugs were found, i.e., three types of radial distributions of void fraction, namely saddle-shaped, trapezoidal and bullet-shaped distributions, exist for upward flow. Abnormality of growth hormone (GH) receptor (GHR) and signal transduction system is a cause of primary GH insensitivity. Analysis of GHR gene have shown so far about 30 different kinds of mainly homozygous mutations in patients with Laron syndrome and heterozygous mutations in some patients with idiopathic short stature. In this paper, we review these diverse clinical and molecular characteristics of abnormal GHR gene in patients with GH insensitivity including our patient of Laron syndrome caused by novel compound heterozygous mutations and of familial short stature with high serum GHBP levels caused by a heterozygous splice site mutation of the GHR gene producing a lack of cytoplasmic domain.  相似文献

Electrical resistance, thermal expansion, lattice constants of the intermediate valence materials, α-Ce and CeBe13, were measured at high pressure. It is found that the Grttneisen parameters of Kondo temperature TK are 13 and 42 for α-Ce and CeBe13, respectively, and it decreases with increasing pressure. The magnetoresistance of α-Ce shows H^2 dependence and its coefficient increases with pressure below 1 GPa, but becomes nearly constant above 1 GPa. The results indicate that the intermediate valence states are enhanced at high pressure indicating the enhancement of hybridization between the 4f electron and conduction band.  相似文献

The transformation-defective mutant of Rous sarcoma virus (RSV), tdPH2010, has a gag p19 (matrix; MA) protein which migrates on SDS-polyacrylamide gels faster than that of the parental (tsNY68) as well as other wild-type strains of RSV. To study the molecular basis of this altered migration pattern and its biological significance, the nucleotide sequence of the p19 region of tdPH2010 was determined. Comparison of the nucleotide sequence of tdPH2010 with that of the Schmidt-Ruppin A strain of RSV revealed a point mutation at nucleotide 755 (G to A), resulting in an amino-acid substitution at residue 126 of p19 (Glu to Lys). Acidic-methanol esterification of free carboxyl groups suppressed the difference in electrophoretic mobility of p19 between tdPH2010 and the wild-type virus. Recombinant virus constructs having the mutated gag region of tdPH2010 produced a p19 with the same electrophoretic mobility as the p19 of tdPH2010. We concluded that the point mutation caused the altered electrophoretic behavior of p19 of tdPH2010. The mutation had no effect on the growth of infected cells.  相似文献

Propolis is a resinous substance collected by honeybees from various plant sources. The composition of propolis depends on time, vegetation, and the area of collection. This study examined the antioxidant activity of propolis from various areas of China: Heilongjiang, Neimongol, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Gansu, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Hunan, Yunnan and Hainan. Ethanol extracts of propolis (EEP) were prepared and evaluated for their antioxidant activities by β-carotene bleaching, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical-scavenging, and 2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical cation decolorization assays. Furthermore, the major constituents in EEP were identified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis with a photodiode array (PDA) and mass spectrometric (MS) detection, and each component was quantitatively analyzed. All propolis samples except that from Yunnan had relatively strong antioxidant activity accompanied by high total polyphenol contents. Propolis with strong antioxidant activity contained large amounts of antioxidative compounds, such as caffeic acid, ferulic acid and caffeic acid phenethyl ester. On the other hand, propolis from Yunnan and Hainan had compounds not present in propolis from other areas.  相似文献

Conjugated fatty acids (CFA) have received increased interest because of their beneficial effects on human health, including preventing cancer development. Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are such CFA, and have been reviewed extensively for their multiple biological activities. In contrast to other types of CFAs including CLA that are found at low concentrations (less than 1%) in natural products, conjugated linolenic acids (CLN) are the only CFAs that occur in higher quantities in natural products. Some plant seeds contain a considerably high concentration of CLN (30 to 70 wt% lipid). Our research group has screened CLN from different plant seed oils to determine their cancer chemopreventive ability. This review describes the physiological functions of CLN isomers that occur in certain plant seeds. CLN are able to induce apoptosis through decrease of Bcl-2 protein in certain human cancer cell lines, increase expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-γ, and up-regulate gene expression of p53. Findings in our preclinical animal studies have indicated that feeding with CLN resulted in inhibition of colorectal tumorigenesis through modulation of apoptosis and expression of PPARγ and p53. In this review, we summarize chemopreventive efficacy of CLN against cancer development, especially colorectal cancer.  相似文献
