Phase diagram of the ternary Bi–Sb–Zn system was investigated experimentally by DTA and SEM-EDS methods and analytically by CALPHAD method. The liquidus projection, invariant equilibria, several vertical sections and isothermal section at 300 °C were predicted using COST 531 thermodynamic database. Phase transition temperatures of alloys along three predicted vertical sections of the Bi–Sb–Zn ternary system with molar ratio Bi:Sb = 1, Bi:Zn = 1 and Sb:Zn = 1, were measured by differential thermal analysis (DTA). Predicted isothermal section at 300 °C was compared with the results of the scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) analysis from this work.  相似文献

Neural interfaces hold great promise for research and treatment of a wide variety of neurological diseases. Medical electrodes are designed to interface with the nervous system and provide control signals for neural prostheses. We fabricated previously a hook-up neural electrode. Here we investigate the in vitro cytotoxicity of three commercial carbon pastes used for printing the conductor tracks of this electrode. At first, the carbon pastes were characterized with respect to their microstructure and chemical composition. SEM images showed a grainy texture that is associated to the carbon/graphite microparticles dispersed by the polymeric binder. All the three pastes contained in major proportions carbon and in different proportions other elements. The surface roughness analysis evidenced differences in the smoothness of the carbon paste surfaces. Sterilization procedures did not alter the microstructure or surface morphology of the pastes. Finally, cell viability based on -(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) test and fluorescence staining experiments proved non-cytotoxicity and suitability of the studied carbon pastes as electrode material for measuring neural activity during surgeries (up to a certain time period).  相似文献

Eight multiparous periparturient Holstein cows fitted with ruminal cannula were used in a split plot design to evaluate the effects of monensin on plasma glucose metabolism. Diets were top-dressed daily with 0 mg/cow of monensin (control) or 300 mg/cow of monensin (MON) both pre- and postpartum. Plasma glucose kinetic parameters on d ?13 ± 2.0 and 19 ± 1.6 relative to parturition were determined by using stable isotopes. Na-1-13C3-Propionate (labeled propionate) was infused into the rumen to measure glucose synthesis originating from ruminal propionate, and U-13C-glucose (labeled glucose) was injected into the jugular vein to determine total glucose kinetics. A sampling period of 480 min following labeled glucose injection was implemented. A compartmental analysis was employed to determine steady state glucose kinetic parameters. To develop a steady state glucose model, the Windows version of SAAM software (WinSAAM) was used. A 4-compartment model was adequate to comprehensively describe plasma glucose metabolism. The main model compartments consisted of propionate and plasma glucose. The time frame of the 480-min sampling period post-tracer glucose infusion allowed accurate quantification of glucose metabolism. The model estimated that glucose input from sources other than ruminal propionate decreased with MON, from 2.26 to 1.09 g/min postpartum. Gluconeogenesis, expressed as the propionate contribution to the plasma glucose pool, increased in cows fed MON (22 vs. 31%), whereas glucose oxidation, expressed as the glucose disposal rate, significantly decreased (1.67 vs. 0.92 g/min). In conclusion, MON may improve the energy status of transition cows by (1) improving the efficiency of propionate to produce glucose and (2) decreasing glucose oxidation in body tissues.  相似文献

This paper examines the possibilities of enhancing relationship management between public service broadcasters and their stakeholders by harnessing the potential of newest e-business technologies and concepts, such as: social media, digital and interactive TV, and mobile computing. In order to facilitate adoption of relationship management strategy, a framework for leveraging relationship management is proposed. Evaluation was performed within the e-business system of a public broadcaster. This empirical study explored the readiness and expected benefits of relationship management implementation. The research results have indicated that a public broadcaster could achieve a higher level of social responsibility, improve business sustainability, and empower communication and collaboration with all the stakeholders by using emerging technologies for relationship management activities.  相似文献

Marijuana is a widely abused recreational drug well known for its psychoactive properties. Cannabinoids, the active ingredients of marijuana, elicit their neurobehavioral effects by interacting with the CB1 cannabinoid receptor subtype, expressed primarily in the brain but also present in some peripheral tissues. A second receptor subtype, the CB2 receptor, is expressed on cells of the immune system and is thought to be responsible for the immunosuppressant effects of cannabinoids. Recently, endogenous lipidlike substances have been identified, including arachidonyl ethanolamide (anandamide) and 2-arachidonyl glyceride, that bind to cannabinoid receptors and mimic many of the neurobehavioral effects of plant-derived cannabinoids. Both plant-derived cannabinoids and the endogenous ligands have been shown to elicit hypotension and bradycardia via activation of peripherally located CB1 receptors. Possible underlying mechanisms include presynaptic CB1 receptor mediated inhibition of norepinephrine release from peripheral sympathetic nerve terminals, and/or direct vasodilation via activation of vascular cannabinoid receptors. The latter may also be the target of endocannabinoids of vascular endothelial origin. Recent studies indicate that a peripheral endogenous cannabinoid system in circulating macrophages and platelets is activated in hemorrhagic and septic shock and may contribute to the hypotension associated with these conditions via activation of vascular cannabinoid receptors. The potential role of this mechanism in human shock conditions is under investigation.  相似文献

Summary. This work is devoted to the free turbulent convection theory applied to a vertical plate under uniform heat flux density conditions by using the integral formalism approach. A fully developed model is derived for a large Prandtl number range over the real distinct boundary layer thicknesses. Comparisons are established with the few data in literature. Of practical interest are the deduced dynamical similarity law and Nusselt number correlations. The transition events are found to be Prandtl number dependent, and the results suggest the thermal transition to be reached in space before the dynamical one up to Pr = 100.  相似文献
