Multiprocessor task scheduling is an important problem in parallel applications and distributed systems. In this way, solving the multiprocessor task scheduling problem (MTSP) by heuristic, meta-heuristic, and hybrid algorithms have been proposed in literature. Although the problem has been addressed by many researchers, challenges to improve the convergence speed and the reliability of methods for solving the problem are still continued especially in the case that the communication cost is added to the problem frame work. In this paper, an Immune-based Genetic algorithm (IGA), a meta-heuristic approach, with a new coding scheme is proposed to solve MTSP. It is shown that the proposed coding reduces the search space of MTSP in many practical problems, which effectively influences the convergence speed of the optimization process. In addition to the reduced search space offered by the proposed coding that eventuate in exploring better solutions at a shorter time frame, it guarantees the validity of solutions by using any crossover and mutation operators. Furthermore, to overcome the regeneration phenomena in the proposed GA (generating similar chromosomes) which leads to premature convergence, an affinity based approach inspired from Artificial Immune system is employed which results in better exploration in the searching process. Experimental results showed that the proposed IGA surpasses related works in terms of found makespan (20% improvement in average) while it needs less iterations to find the solutions (90% improvement in average) when it is applied to standard test benches.  相似文献

Orientation-based coding approaches have recently been widely employed for face and palmprint recognition where generally, one starts with a set of Gabor filters to extract orientation information and then proceeds to code dominant orientations as features for each point of the palmprint. However, as the Gabor filter is developed to model two-dimensional receptive fields of simple cells in straits cortex, it might not be our best choice when dealing with curved and complex structures inherent in the palmprint texture. Motivated by this intuition, this paper shows that Gabor filters are a subset of a bigger family of filters which we refer to as generalized Gabor filter (GGF). Depending on the values of its parameters, a GGF takes a rather diverse shapes and orientations, which results in a potentially finer feature extraction capability. We show this improved capability by employing GGFs in the palmprint verification process. In applying our method, two different sub-banks of GGFs are defined for the orientation-based feature extraction of palmprints, and when compared with Gabor filters, it will be shown that GGFs have the upper hand in capturing orientation features. Furthermore, compared with the competitive code—one of the well-known orientation-based coding methods—the number of employed orientations is reduced to half. This would automatically compensate for a double usage of the filter banks, which otherwise could increase the time complexity of using GGFs. These ideas are further elaborated using a set of experiments on PolyU II and PolyU 2D/3D palmprint databases. The results show the preeminence of using GGFs both in terms of accuracy and efficiency.  相似文献

This paper proposes accurate and robust algorithms for approximating variable order fractional derivatives of arbitrary order. The proposed schemes are based on finite difference approximations. We compare the performance of algorithms by introducing a new formulation of experimental convergence order. Two initial value problems are considered and solved by means of the proposed methods. Numerical results are provided justifying the usefulness of the proposed methods.  相似文献

Document image binarization is a difficult task, especially for complex document images. Nonuniform background, stains, and variation in the intensity of the printed characters are some examples of challenging document features. In this work, binarization is accomplished by taking advantage of local probabilistic models and of a flexible active contour scheme. More specifically, local linear models are used to estimate both the expected stroke and the background pixel intensities. This information is then used as the main driving force in the propagation of an active contour. In addition, a curvature-based force is used to control the viscosity of the contour and leads to more natural-looking results. The proposed implementation benefits from the level set framework, which is highly successful in other contexts, such as medical image segmentation and road network extraction from satellite images. The validity of the proposed approach is demonstrated on both recent and historical document images of various types and languages. In addition, this method was submitted to the Document Image Binarization Contest (DIBCO??09), at which it placed 3rd.  相似文献

This paper presents a resistance-based hydrogen gas sensor using polyaniline (emeraldine)/TiO2 nanocomposite (PT–NC) thin film. It is demonstrated that different gas sensing features can arise when various TiO2 phases (anatase and rutile) are applied. The different wt% of TiO2 phases were dispersed into an acidic solution of aniline monomers and PT–NCs were synthesized by an in-situ self-assembly chemical oxidative polymerization method of aniline. PT–NCs deposited on an epoxy glass substrate having Cu-interdigited electrodes for hydrogen gas sensing at air pressure and room temperature. Our results show that the better sensitivity of the sensor strongly depends on the sensor surface morphology and its components. Furthermore, hydrogen gas sensing mechanism of the sensor based contact areas between Pani chains and TiO2 grains was studied.  相似文献

Uptake to cuprous oxide (Cu2O) nanoparticle synthesis with various particle sizes and shapes via supersaturation chemistry approach (LaMer model) has been conducted. Ascorbic acid and maltodextrine as reducing agents and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a surfactant were utilized for synthesis of Cu2O nanoparticles in aqueous solution. The narrow particle size range was achieved by controlling the kinetics of nucleation and growth of particles to satisfy LaMer theory. This mean was performed utilizing different reducing agents (ascorbic acid and maltodextrin) and also, changing the reducing agent addition condition. The results showed the reducing agent addition condition, varying the size of Cu2O nanoparticles from 89 nm to 74 nm for drop-wisely and at-once routes, respectively. The samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results indicate the shape of as-prepared cuprous oxide nanoparticles have close relationship with thermodynamic and kinetic conditions, and also reducing addition condition.  相似文献

Acrylic/melamine based automotive clearcoats were prepared by inclusion of functional and conventional additives. The conventional additives used were based on polysiloxane chains without any reactive groups. On the other hand, the functional additives were based on polyacrylate and polysiloxane backbones. The additives were added to the clearcoat formulations at different concentrations. Surface tension, optical properties and rheological behaviors of the clearcoats were studied by tensiometer, gonio-spectrophotometer, rheometric mechanical spectrometer (RMS) and Brookfield techniques. Results showed that addition of both conventional and functional additives reduced the surface tension of the clearcoat up to a certain value of the additive concentration. It was seen that functional additives could reduce surface tension much greater than the conventional ones. The coating clarity and transparency were not affected in presence of conventional additives. However, the functional additives, especially the one having higher molecular weight, reduced the coating transparency. The clearcoat viscosity was increased using functional additives. A shear thickening behavior of the clearcoats loaded with functional additives was seen. The conventional additives did not change the clearcoat viscosity. It was concluded that the additive functionality, molecular weight and chemical structure were influential parameters affecting the final properties.  相似文献

This paper is the second part of a two-part study concerning the dynamics of heat transfer during the nucleation process of FC-72 liquid. The experimental findings on the nature of different heat transfer mechanisms involved in the nucleation process were discussed in part I. In this paper, the experimental results are compared with the existing boiling models. The boiling models based on dominance of a single mechanism of heat transfer did not match the experimental results. However, the Rohsenow model was found to closely predict the heat transfer through the microconvection mechanism that is primarily active outside the bubble/surface contact area. An existing transient conduction model was modified to predict the surface heat transfer during the rewetting process (i.e. transient conduction mechanism). This model takes into account the gradual rewetting of the surface during the transient conduction process rather than a simple sudden surface coverage assumption commonly used in the boiling literature. The initial superheat energy of the microlayer (i.e. microlayer sensible energy) was accurately calculated and found to significantly contribute in microlayer evaporation. This even exceeded the direct wall heat transfer to microlayer at high surface superheat temperatures. A composite model was introduced that closely matches our experimental results. It incorporates models for three mechanisms of heat transfer including microlayer evaporation, transient conduction, microconvection, as well as their influence area and activation time. The significance of this development is that, for the first time, all submodels of the composite correlation were independently verified using experimental results.  相似文献
