In this paper a set of one-dimensional simulations of a-Si:H p–i–n junctions under different illumination conditions and with different intrinsic layer are presented. The simulation program ASCA permits the analysis of the internal electrical behaviour of the cell allowing a comparison among the different internal configurations determined by a change in the input set. Results about the internal electric configuration will be presented and discussed outlining their influence on the current tension characteristic curve. Considerations about the drift–diffusion and the generation–recombination balance distributions, outlined by the simulation, can be used to explain the correlation between the basic device output, the i-layer characteristics (thickness and DOS), the incident radiation intensity and photon energy. 相似文献

In the statistical learning framework, the use of appropriate kernels may be the key for substantial improvement in solving a given problem. In essence, a kernel is a similarity measure between input points satisfying some mathematical requirements and possibly capturing the domain knowledge. In this paper, we focus on kernels for images: we represent the image information content with binary strings and discuss various bitwise manipulations obtained using logical operators and convolution with nonbinary stencils. In the theoretical contribution of our work, we show that histogram intersection is a Mercer's kernel and we determine the modifications under which a similarity measure based on the notion of Hausdorff distance is also a Mercer's kernel. In both cases, we determine explicitly the mapping from input to feature space. The presented experimental results support the relevance of our analysis for developing effective trainable systems. 相似文献

Cloning of observables, unlike standard cloning of states, aims at copying the information encoded in the statistics of a
class of observables rather then on quantum states themselves. In such a process the emphasis is on the quantum operation
(evolution plus measurement) necessary to retrieve the original information. We analyze, for qubit systems, the cloning of
a class generated by two noncommuting observables, elucidating the relationship between such a process and joint measurements.
This helps in establishing an optimality criterion for cloning of observables. We see that, even if the cloning machine is
designed to act on the whole class generated by two noncommuting observables, the same optimal performances of a joint measurement

Production pipelines of manufactory industries present several machines and robots in which the movements of interpolated axes are managed by computerized numerical controls (CNCs). These are typically synchronized with several other simpler actuators along the pipeline of production. CNCs have to be flexible, easily expandable, and reusable, when pipelines of production are frequently reconfigured to realize different arranged pipelines with different technical requirements. In this paper, the assessment of a flexible CNC for such reconfigurable pipelines is presented. The analysis has been focused on defining objective metrics that can be applied for assessing performance and feasibility of distributed controls for pipelines. The method proposed has been applied on the distributed control architecture defined in the MUPAAC ESPRIT HPCN (Multi Processor Architecture for Automatic Control, High Performance Computer Networking of the European Commission). We consider systems which are globally completely observable and output-to-state stable. The former property guarantees the
existence of coordinates such that the dynamics can be expressed in observability form. The latter property guarantees the
existence of a state norm observer and therefore the possibility of bounding any continuous state functions. Both properties
allow to conceptually build an observer from an approximation of an exponentially attractive invariant manifold in the space
of the system state and an output driven dynamic extension. The proposed observer provides convergence to zero of the estimation
error within the domain of definition of the solutions.

Human intelligence has evolved along with the use of more and more sophisticated tools, allowing Homo Faber (from Homo Habilis to Homo Sapiens Sapiens) to cope with environment changes, as well as to adapt the environment to his needs. Analogously, in this seminal paper we introduce the notion of Agens Faber, conveying the idea that agent intelligence should not be considered as separated by the agent ability to perceive and affect the environment—and so, that agent intelligence is strictly related to the artefacts that enable, mediate and govern any agent (intelligent) activity.
Along this line, we first discuss the notion of artefact for MAS in general, then we try to devise out the admissible / required / desirable features of an artefact for MAS. We elaborate on the many sorts of possible relations between agents and artefacts, focusing in particular on the issue of the rational exploitation of artefacts, and also rough out a possible taxonomy of artefacts for MAS. 相似文献
