This work presents a straightforward approach aimed at modeling the dynamic I–V characteristics of microwave active solid‐state devices. The drain‐source current generator represents the most significant source of nonlinearity in a transistor and, therefore, its correct modeling is fundamental to predict accurately the current and voltage waveforms under large‐signal operation. The proposed approach relies on using a small set of low‐frequency time‐domain waveform measurements combined with numerical optimization‐based estimation of the nonlinear model parameters. The procedure is applied to a gallium nitride HEMT and silicon FinFET. The effectiveness of the modeling procedure in terms of prediction accuracy and generalization capability is demonstrated by validation of the extracted models under operating conditions different than the ones used for the parameters estimation. Good agreement between measurements and model simulations is achieved for both technologies and in both low‐ and high‐frequency range. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We analyze the complexity of equilibria problems for a class of strategic zero-sum games, called angel-daemon games. Those games were introduced to asses the performance of the execution of a web orchestration on a moderate faulty or under stress environment. Angel-daemon games are a natural example of zero-sum games whose representation is naturally succinct. We show that the problems of deciding the existence of a pure Nash equilibrium or of a dominant strategy for a given player are ${\Sigma}^{p}_{2}$ -complete. Furthermore, computing the value of an angel-daemon game is EXP-complete. Thus, our results match the already known classification of the corresponding problems for the generic families of succinctly represented games with exponential number of actions.  相似文献

Consolidation Behavior of Flocculated Alumina Suspensions   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The consolidation behavior of flocculated alumina suspensions has been analyzed as a function of the interparticle energy. Consolidation was performed by a centrifugal force field or by gravity, and both the time-dependent and equilibrium density profiles were measured by a gamma-ray absorption technique. The interparicle energy at contact was controlled by adsorbing fatty acids of varying molecular weight at the alumina/decalin interface. We found that strongly attractive interactions result in a particle network which resists consolidation and shows compressible behavior over a large stress range. The most weakly flocculated suspension showed an essentially incompressible, homogeneous density profile after consolidation at different centrifugal speeds. We also found a significant variation in the maximum volume fraction, φm, obtained, with φm∼ 0.54 for the most strongly flocculated suspension to φm∼ 0.63 for the most weakly flocculated suspension. The compresive yield stresses show a behavior which can be fitted to a modified power law. In this paper, we discuss possible correlations between the fitting parameters and physical properties of the flocculated suspensions.  相似文献

Summary Eighteen chemical and physical parameters of nectar and honeydew honeys were determined and the results were analysed statistically by the method of principal component analysis. On the plots of principal component loadings, the honeys were divided into the following groups: (1) acacia honey; (2) rape honey; (3) linden, floral (nectar coming from various plants) and heather honeys; (4) honeydew honey. The samples which were a blend of nectar and honeydew honeys may be considered as a separate group between 3 and 4. The most important first principal component was strongly associated with the value of electrical conductivity, the contents of ash, free acids and proline, as well as with the pH and the diastase number. The principal component loadings and linear correlation suggested that these parameters contributed much more to the classification of honeys than apparent reducing sugars, apparent sucrose, mono-, di-, and trisaccharides, glucose and fructose. The classification of honeys by the method of principal component analysis may serve as an additional tool in specifying samples on the basis of their chemical composition.
Klassifizierung von Honigen durch chemische und physikalische Parameter mit Hilfe der Hauptkomponentenanalyse
Zusammenfassung 18 chemische und physikalische Parameter der Nektar- und Honigtauhonige wurden bestimmt und die Ergebnisse statistisch mit Hilfe der Hauptkomponentenanalyse ausgewertet. Danach konnten die Honige in folgende Gruppen unterteilt werden: 1) Akazienhonige, 2) Rapshonige, 3) Linden-, Blüten-und Heidehonige, 4) Honigtauhonige. Zwischen dem Nektarhonig und Honigtauhonig lagen wahrscheinlich die Proben von Mischhonigen aus Blüten- und Waldtracht. Die bedeutendste erste Hauptkomponente war mit folgenden Parametern verbunden: elektrischer Leitfähigkeitswert und Aschegehalt, Gehalt an freien Säuren und Prolin sowie der pH-Wert und Diastasezahl. Aufgrund der Hauptkomponentenladungen und der linearen Korrelation kann angenommen werden, daß diese Parameter für die Honigklassifizierung von größerer Bedeutung sind als der Gehalt an reduzierenden Zuckern, scheinbarer Saccharose, Mono-, Di- und Trisaccharide, Glucose und Fructose. Die Klassifizierung der Honige mit Hilfe der Hauptkomponentenanalyse kann bei der Spezifikation einer Honigprobe aufgrund ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung von Nutzen sein.

We present a new type of calorimeter in which we couple an unknown heat capacity with the aid of Peltier elements to an electrical circuit. The use of an electrical inductance and an amplifier in the circuit allows us to achieve autonomous oscillations, and the measurement of the corresponding resonance frequency makes it possible to accurately measure the heat capacity with an intrinsic statistical uncertainty that decreases as ~t(m)(-3/2) with measuring time t(m), as opposed to a corresponding uncertainty ~t(m)(-1/2) in the conventional alternating current method to measure heat capacities. We have built a demonstration experiment to show the feasibility of the new technique, and we have tested it on a gadolinium sample at its transition to the ferromagnetic state.  相似文献

This paper describes a new out-of-core multi-resolution data structure for real-time visualization, interactive editing and externally efficient processing of large point clouds. We describe an editing system that makes use of the novel data structure to provide interactive editing and preprocessing tools for large scanner data sets. Using the new data structure, we provide a complete tool chain for 3D scanner data processing, from data preprocessing and filtering to manual touch-up and real-time visualization. In particular, we describe an out-of-core outlier removal and bilateral geometry filtering algorithm, a toolset for interactive selection, painting, transformation, and filtering of huge out-of-core point-cloud data sets and a real-time rendering algorithm, which all use the same data structure as storage backend. The interactive tools work in real-time for small model modifications. For large scale editing operations, we employ a two-resolution approach where editing is planned in real-time and executed in an externally efficient offline computation afterwards. We evaluate our implementation on example data sets of sizes up to 63 GB, demonstrating that the proposed technique can be used effectively in real-world applications.  相似文献

Although nanotechnology has led to important advances in in vitro diagnostics, the development of nanosensors for in vivo detection remains very challenging. Here, we demonstrated the proof-of-principle of in vivo detection of nucleic acid targets using a promising type of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanosensor implanted in the skin of a large animal model (pig). The in vivo nanosensor used in this study involves the “inverse molecular sentinel” detection scheme using plasmonics-active nanostars, which have tunable absorption bands in the near infrared region of the “tissue optical window”, rendering them efficient as an optical sensing platform for in vivo optical detection. Ex vivo measurements were also performed using human skin grafts to demonstrate the detection of SERS nanosensors through tissue. In this study, a new core–shell nanorattle probe with Raman reporters trapped between the core and shell was utilized as an internal standard system for self-calibration. These results illustrate the usefulness and translational potential of the SERS nanosensor for in vivo biosensing.

Cerebellar Purkinje cells (PC) display a highly distinctive form of polarity. We have cultured murine PCs from dissociated E16 cerebellar anlagen for 1 week to investigate the early stages of neuronal compartmentalization and synaptic interactions, features which are important for the establishment of neuronal polarity. To unequivocally identify the PCs we utilized light and electron microscopic immunocytochemistry with an anti-serum to the cell class-specific marker L7/pcp2 gene product. The PCs typically show a single, long axon, numerous short appendages classified as filopodia and protospines, and a small number of protodendrites. The nucleus is positioned asymmetrically in both the horizontal and vertical axes of the soma. The Golgi apparatus, coated and uncoated vesicles, and mitochondria are prominent ultrastructural features, while the endoplasmic reticulum is highly fragmented. The cell body receives rudimentary synapses on its smooth surfaces and appendages and no consistent morphological differences were detected between these elementary contacts. The axon is clearly identifiable; it emanates from either the cell body or a protodendrite, bifurcates at predominantly right angles, forms beaded collaterals, and terminates with relatively large growth cones. The varicosities of the PC axon contain pleomorphic synaptic vesicles and form rudimentary synapses primarily with the dendritic shafts of immunonegative neurons. The protodendrites are short, quickly tapering and sparsely branched; they emit numerous filopodia and immature spines and terminate with small growth cones. Rudimentary synapses are received on the proximal dendritic shafts and filopodia, and more mature synapses occur frequently on protospines. With few exceptions, PCs lie atop an astrocytic bed layer and glial processes are apposed to the various aspects of the PC body left free by the afferent axons. By contrast, PC processes are largely free of glial sheaths. We conclude that the "stellate stage" of PC development in situ is replicated rather faithfully in culture and that PCs have established polarity and have begun to form intercellular contacts by 1 week in vitro. Moreover, the PCs are already morphologically distinct from other cell types in the 1 week cultures, although they have yet to develop the differentiated features that distinguish mature PCs.  相似文献
