A process for the preparation of mustard protein isolate, comprising steps such as dispersion of defatted meal in 0.1 mol/l NaCl solution, incubation, extraction at alkaline pH, followed by treatment of the protein solution with activated carbon was developed. The protein, coagulated by steam injection, was subjected to separation by centrifugation, washing and spray drying. The parameters evaluated were protein yield, purity, presence of antinutritional factors and nutritional quality of proteins. The protein yield was 58-60%. The purity of the protein isolate was 95%. The hydrolysed products of glocosinolates like isothiocyanates and oxazolidine thione levels, phenolics and phytic acid levels were low in the protein isolate. The in vitro digestibility of the protein isolate was 92.4% compared to 80.6% of the meal. Chemical score of the meal and protein isolate were similar; isoleucine was the first limiting amino acid. The calculated nutritional indices, essential amino acid index, biological value, nutritional index and C-PER of protein isolate were higher compared to meal. The protein quality as indicated by amino acid profile and PDCAAS scores for 10-12-years old and adults were 100. 相似文献

Group decision making with multiple criteria is the most popular method for ranking a set of alternatives. In this regard, all alternatives are compared based on a common criteria set. Meanwhile, decision makers sometimes encounter special situations, for example, having to select from among a set of alternatives without a set of criteria or with a set of criteria that are grouped/related to various alternatives. Thus, it may be impossible to select from among a set of alternatives using typical methods. Hence, in this study, a new, modified VIKOR method is proposed to address the lean tool selection problems in manufacturing systems. In this study, a model was developed to help practitioners improve their ability to solve problems when the possible solutions have their own individual criteria. In fact the modified VIKOR method can be applied to rank alternatives in threefold: alternatives with common criteria, without common criteria, with integrated common, and uncommon criteria. This paper offers numerical examples of the model, using a case study to illustrate an application of the proposed model and properly assess the validity of this new method. The results demonstrate the usefulness and effectiveness of the modified new method. The model covers the lack existing in the current literature to assess effectiveness of applying lean tools. 相似文献

Effects of the antiosteoblastogenesis factor Semaphorin 4D (Sema4D), expressed by thrombin-activated platelets (TPs), on osteoblastogenesis, as well as osteoclastogenesis, were investigated in vitro. Intact platelets released both Sema4D and IGF-1. However, in response to stimulation with thrombin, platelets upregulated the release of Sema4D, but not IGF-1. Anti-Sema4D-neutralizing monoclonal antibody (mAb) upregulated TP-mediated osteoblastogenesis in MC3T3-E1 osteoblast precursors. MC3T3-E1 cells exposed to TPs induced phosphorylation of Akt and ERK further upregulated by the addition of anti-sema4D-mAb, suggesting the suppressive effects of TP-expressing Sema4D on osteoblastogenesis. On the other hand, TPs promoted RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis in the primary culture of bone-marrow-derived mononuclear cells (BMMCs). Among the known three receptors of Sema4D, including Plexin B1, Plexin B2 and CD72, little Plexin B2 was detected, and no Plexin B1 was detected, but a high level of CD72 mRNA was detected in RANKL-stimulated BMMCs by qPCR. Both anti-Sema4D-mAb and anti-CD72-mAb suppressed RANKL-induced osteoclast formation and bone resorptive activity, suggesting that Sema4D released by TPs promotes osteoclastogenesis via ligation to a CD72 receptor. This study demonstrated that Sema4D released by TPs suppresses osteogenic activity and promotes osteoclastogenesis, suggesting the novel property of platelets in bone-remodeling processes. 相似文献

Ferrite nanoparticles of basic composition Ni0.7-x Zn x Cu0.3Fe2O4 (0.0 ?? x ?? 0.2, x = 0.05) were synthesized through auto-combustion method and were characterized for structural properties using X-ray diffraction [XRD], scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy [FT-IR]. XRD analysis of the powder samples sintered at 600°C for 4 h showed the cubic spinel structure for ferrites with a narrow size distribution from 28 to 32 nm. FT-IR showed two absorption bands (v 1 and v 2) that are attributed to the stretching vibration of tetrahedral and octahedral sites. The effect of Zn doping on the electrical properties was studied using dielectric and impedance spectroscopy at room temperature. The dielectric parameters (??', ????, tan??, and ?? ac) show their maximum value for 10% Zn doping. The dielectric constant and loss tangent decrease with increasing frequency of the applied field. The results are explained in the light of dielectric polarization which is similar to the conduction phenomenon. In this study, new nano spherical graphene modified with LDH (Layered Double Hydroxide) was prepared and used to remove As(III) ion from aqueous solutions. At first, graphene oxide was synthesized from graphite using a well-known Hammer method. The obtained graphene oxide solution was sprayed in octanol solution under different temperatures and sprayed speed as influenced variables. The structure and physical characterization of synthesized spherical graphene oxide were determined by various techniques, including FT-IR, N2 adsorption–desorption, SEM, TEM, and EDX. In the next step, the hydrothermal method was applied to deposition LDH on the spherical graphene oxide. The synthesized spherical graphene modified by LDH was used to remove As(III) as a toxic heavy metal ion. The effect of influenced variables including pH, contact time, amount of sorbent, and type eluent studied and the optimum values were as 8, 30, 50, and HCl (0.5 mol·L-1), respectively. After optimization, the studied sorbent was shown a high adsorption capacity (149.3 mg·g-1). The adsorption mechanism and kinetic models exhibited good agreement with the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order trends, respectively. Spent desulphurization catalysts are considered a major secondary source of valuable metals. The contents of nickel and vanadium present in these catalysts, accompanied by environmental rules, have attracted scientists to explore diverse options for their effective processing. The electrometallurgy recovery of Ni and V from the spent desulphurization Ni-Mo-V/Al2O3 catalyst is described in this study. Using flat plate graphite electrodes, the electrochemical deposition of Ni and V from spent catalyst in an acid solution (HNO3/H2SO4) was investigated. By the central composite design of the response surface methodology, the effect of the operating factors was examined and optimized. At the ideal conditions of reaction temperatures of 84.0 and 42.0°C, electrolysis times of 5.6 and 4.4 h, liquid/solid ratios of 22.7 and 15.4 ml/g, and current densities of 229.0 and 255.6 A/m2, respectively, the recovery efficiencies of Ni and V were 81.96% and 93.07%. The statistical analysis revealed that the expected data (R2 = 0.9984 and R2 = 0.9883) were in good agreement with the observed data (R2 = 0.9984), with an average variation from experimental data of 0.78% and 0.65% for the optimum conditions of Ni and V recovery, respectively. It shows that the Ni and V nanoparticles deposited have a spherical form with purities of 84.39% and 90.76%, respectively. Because of its great efficiency and purity, the current study can provide a dependable procedure for extracting Ni and V from solid waste. 相似文献

Functionalised SBA‐15 mesoporous silica with polyamidoamine groups (PAMAM‐SBA‐15) was successfully prepared with the structure characterised by X‐ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption, Fourier transform infrared spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. PAMAM‐SBA‐15 was applied as adsorbent for Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions removal from aqueous solution. The effects of the solution pH, adsorbent dosage and metal ion concentration were studied under the batch mode. The Langmuir model was fitted favourably to the experimental data. The maximum sorptive capacities were determined to be 1.74 mmol g?1 for Cu(II), 1.16 mmol g?1 for Pb(II) and 0.97 mmol g?1 for Cd(II). The overall sorption process was fast and its kinetics was fitted well to a pseudo‐first‐order kinetic model. The mean free energy of sorption, calculated from the Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm, indicated that the sorption of lead and copper, with E > 16 kJ mol?1, followed the sorption mechanism by particle diffusion. The adsorbent could be regenerated three times without significant varying its sorption capacity. A series of column tests were performed to determine the breakthrough curves with varying bed heights and flow rates. The breakthrough data gave a good fit to the Thomas model. Maximum sorption capacity of 1.6, 1.3 and 1.0 mmol g?1 were found for Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cd(II), respectively, at flow rate of 0.4 mL min?1 and bed height of 8 cm, which corresponds to 83%, 75% and 73% of metallic ion removal, respectively, which very close to the value determined in the batch process.
