This quad-issue processor achieves 1-GHz operation through improved dynamic circuit techniques in critical paths and a more extensive on-chip memory system which scales in both bandwidth and latency. Critical logic paths use domino, delayed clocked domino, and logic embedded in dynamic flip-flops for minimum delay. A 64-KB sum-addressed memory data cache combines the address offset add with the cache decode, allowing the average memory latency to scale by more than the clock ratio. Memory bandwidth is improved by using wave pipelined SRAM designs for on-chip caches and a write cache for store traffic. Memory power is controlled without increased latency by use of delayed-reset logic decoders. The chip operates at 1000 MHz and dissipates less than 80 W from a 1.6-V supply. In this paper, a modular and scalable all-optical packet switch (AOPS) is proposed. The range of its capacity can be easily scaled from gigabit per second to multi-terabits per second. Due to its broadcast-and-select property, the proposed AOPS is capable of performing a multicast function. By taking the advantage of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), this architecture can provide the best network performance using a limited number of optical fiber delay lines as buffers. To perform the header replacement function, a novel all-optical header replacement unit (HRU) is introduced to be integrated with the switching function. The proposed HRU is shared by all the inputs which provides cost advantages. In addition, we present a generic control scheme for the proposed AOPS. To implement the function of the AOPS, two possible approaches, based on the design of wavelength conversion pools (WCPs), are presented and their cascadability performances are compared. Our simulations show that the proposed AOPS with an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) based WCP provides better cascadability performance than the one with a star coupler based WCP. We conclude that, based on the status of current optical and electronic technologies, the proposed architecture is feasible to be implemented, and can be a good candidate for future packet switching solutions.  相似文献

Vegetable peels are normally thrown away as kitchen wastes. In order to reveal their possible biological value, an in vitro investigation was performed on the antioxidative potential of some peel extracts such as Luffa cylindrica (Lc), Raphanus sativus (Rs), Daucus carota (Dc), Pisum sativum (Ps) and Trichosanthes dioica (Td) in ferrous sulphate (FeSO4), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced lipid peroxidation (LPO) in liver, the major target organ of any drug. Effects were compared with that of a known antioxidant, butylated hydroxy anisole (BHA). A dose dependent inhibition was observed in all three, FeSO4, H2O2 and CCl4 induced hepatic LPO. However, with respect to one test peel (Rs), the two lower doses (125 and 250 μg/ml) were found to be ineffective. We suggest that the test peels have the potential to inhibit the lipid peroxidation and the observed differential antiperoxidative effects of the test peels could be the result of their poly phenol and flavonoid contents.  相似文献

A fuzzy set based cost model for additive manufacturing is proposed. The model is illustrated through an example of selective laser sintering (SLS), a commonly used additive manufacturing (AM) process. Initially, a deterministic cost model is developed. It is then converted to a fuzzy set based model by considering uncertainty in build time estimation and cost components. For the specific case of SLS, a build time estimation procedure is developed as a part of the cost model. A method to evaluate the reliability of the cost estimate in AM and its significance is also introduced. The cost model is illustrated through two examples of products manufactured by SLS.

Amino terminated oligoimides (AOIs) were prepared by the Michael addition reaction of various bismaleimides(1a–c) with excess of 4,4′-diamino diphenyl methane (DDM). These AOIs were characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectral studies and number average molecular weight estimated by non-aqueous conductometric titrations. AOIs were then reacted with acrylol chloride and resultant acryl end capped oligoimides (AcOIs) sample were also characterized thermogravimetrically. Each of these AcOI was then combined with the commercially available thermoplastic polyamic acid solution in various proportions. The resultant suspensions were then heated in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as a initiator. The AcOI polymerized through double bond and polyamic acid is cyclized to form SEMI-IPN polymides, which were analyzed thermogravimetrically. The glass fibre reinforced composites were fabricated by using the suspensions of the AcOI and polyamic acid solution. The composites of SEMI IPN polymides were analyzed for their mechanical, chemical and electrical properties.  相似文献

This study considers the performance of a radial basis function neural network for predicting the surface roughness in a turning process. A simple algorithm is proposed for finding the upper and lower estimates of the surface roughness. A code is developed that automatically fits the best network architecture for a given training and testing dataset. The validation of the methodology is carried out for dry and wet turning of mild steel using HSS and carbide tools, and is compared to the performance of the studied network with the reported performance of a multi-layer perception neural network. It is observed that the performance of the radial basis function network is slightly inferior compared to multi-layer perceptron neural network. However, the training procedure is simpler and requires less computational time.  相似文献

We describe the advantages of using diffractive (Fresnel) lenses on thin membranes over conventional optics for, among others, future space telescope projects. Fabrication methods are presented for lenses on two types of freestanding membrane up to 50 cm in size. The first is a Fresnel lens etched into a thin (380-mum) glass sheet, and the second is an ~50-mum-thick polymer membrane containing a Fresnel lens made by replication process from a specially made fused-silica master. We show optical performance analysis of all the lenses that are fabricated, including a diffraction-limited Airy spot from a 20-m- focal-length membrane lens in a diffractive telescope system.  相似文献

The dielectric behavior of sol-gel derived Ba0.80Sr0.20(ZrxTi1−x)O3 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.50) thin films is studied. A relaxor behavior is observed for x ≥ 0.35. The degree of relaxation increases with Zr content. The frequency dependence of the polar regions follows Vogel-Fulcher relation with a characteristic cooperative freezing at freezing temperature (Tf). Below Tf, a long range polarization ordering is likely to take place. The plausible mechanism of the relaxor behavior of BSZT thin films with Zr contents ≥ 0.35 has been proposed based on the measured temperature as well as frequency dependent dielectric data. The solid solution system is visualized as a mixture of Ti+ 4 rich polar regions and Zr+ 4 rich regions; with the increase in Zr content the volume fraction of the polar regions is progressively reduced. At and above 35.0 at.% Zr substitution the polar regions exhibit typical relaxor behavior.  相似文献
