The wireless sensor networks (WSNs) concept was appeared in the middle of 90s and have been a subject under intensive research in the past few years. Several factors have contributed to this, but the potential for application of WSNs in almost every aspect of day-to-day life is the predominant one. This type of networks has been developed using proprietary solutions instead of standard solutions. More recently, the importance of standards motivated the use of IETF standards in WSNs, making the Internet integration easier. However, more efforts are necessary in order to provide a full integration. The WSNs use mainly IPv6 protocol, but the IPv4 is the predominant one in the Internet. As a consequence, IPv4 to IPv6 transition mechanisms must be provided to allow the interaction between all Internet connected devices independently of the supported IP version. It is also critical to provide a standard application interface to make easier the application development and independently of the hardware platform used. The RESTfull Web services can provide this standard interface. So, combine RESTfull Web services with IPv4 to IPv6 transition mechanisms can increase the WSN services dissemination. The transition mechanisms and the REST Web services are supported in the gateway in order to save the wireless sensor device resources’. The smartphone with Internet connectivity can also be the drive to the WSNs growth, because user-friendly applications can be used to retrieve and collect sensed data. This paper proposes a solution based on REST web services to permit the interaction between a mobile application and the IPv6 compliant WSN.  相似文献

This paper extends the timing test model in [5] to be more realistic by including the effects of the test fixtures between a device under test and a tester. The paper enables analyzing the trade-offs that arise between the predicted yield and the required overall test environment timing accuracy (OTETA) which involves the tester overall timing accuracy (OTA) and the test fixtures' impacts. We specifically focus on the application of the extended model to predict the test yield of standard high-speed interconnects, such as PCI Express, Parallel/Serial RapidIO, and HyperTransport. The extended model reveals that achieving an actual yield of 80% with a test escape of 300 DPM (Defects Per Million) requires an equivalent OTETA that is about half the acceptable absolute limit of the tested parameter. Baosheng Wang received his B.S. degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Beijing, P.R. China, in 1997 and M.S. degree from Precision Instrument & Mechanical Engineering from the Tsinghua University, Beijing, P. R. China in 2000. In 2005, he received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, BC, Canada. During his Master study, he was doing MEMS, Micro Sensors and Digital Signal processing. From 2000 to 2001, he worked in Beijing Gaohong Telecommunications Company as a hardware engineer in ATM technology. Currently, he is a Design-for-Test (DFT) engineer at ATI Technologies Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada. He publishes widely at international conferences and journals. His primary research interests are time-driven or timing-oriented testing methodologies for System on-a-Chip (SoC). These fields include test time reduction for SRAMs, accelerated reliability test for non-volatile memories, yield analysis for SoC timing tests, SoC path delay timing characterization and embedded timing measurements. Andy Kuo is currently a Ph.D student of System on a Chip (SoC) Research Lab at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British Columbia. He received his M.A.Sc. and B.A.Sc in electrical and computer engineering from University of British Columbia and University of Toronto in 2004 and 2002 respectively. His research interests include high-speed signal integrity issues, jitter measurement, serial communications. Touraj Farahmand received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Esfahan University of Technology, Esfahan, Iran in 1989 and the M.Sc. in Control Engineering from Sharif university of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1992. After graduation, he joined the Electrical and Computer Research center of Esfahan University of Technology where he was involved in the DSP algorithm development and design and implementation of the control and automation systems. Since October 2001, he has been working in the area of high-speed signal timing measurement at SoC (System-on-a-Chip) lab of UBC (University of British Columbia) as a research engineer. His research interests are signal processing, jitter measurement, serial communication and control. André Ivanov is Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining UBC in 1989, he received his B.Eng. (Hon.), M. Eng., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from McGill University. In 1995–96, he spent a sabbatical leave at PMC-Sierra, Vancouver, BC. He has held invited Professor positions at the University of Montpellier II, the University of Bordeaux I, and Edith Cowan University, in Perth, Australia. His primary research interests lie in the area of integrated circuit testing, design for testability and built-in self-test, for digital, analog and mixed-signal circuits, and systems on a chip (SoCs). He has published widely in these areas and holds several patents in IC design and test. Besides testing, Ivanov has interests in the design and design methodologies of large and complex integrated circuits and SoCs. Dr. Ivanov has served and continues to serve on numerous national and international steering, program, and/or organization committees in various capacities. Recently, he was the Program Chair of the 2002 VLSI Test Symposium (VTS'02) and the General Chair for VTS'03 and VTS'04. In 2001, Ivanov co-founded Vector 12, a semiconductor IP company. He has published over 100 papers in conference and journals and holds 4 US patents. Ivanov serves on the Editorial Board of the IEEE Design and Test Magazine, and Kluwer's Journal of Electronic Testing: Theory and Applications. Ivanov is currently the Chair of the IEEE Computer Society's Test Technology Technical Council (TTTC). He is a Golden Core Member of the IEEE Computer Society, a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the British Columbia Advanced Systems Institute and a Professional Engineer of British Columbia. Yong Cho received the B.S. degree from Kyung Pook National Unviersity, Korea, in 1981 and the M.S. degree from in electrical and computer engineering from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C., in 1988 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and applied physics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, in 1992. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronics Engineering, Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea. His recent research interests include SoC Design and Verification, H/W and S/W co-design, and embedded programming on SoC. Sassan Tabatabaei received his PHD in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 2000. Since then, he has held several senior technical positions at Vector12 Corp, Guide Technology, and Virage Logic. His professional and research interests include mixed-signal design and test, and signal integrity and jitter test methodologies for high-speed circuits and multi-Gbps serial interfaces. He has published several papers and holds a US patent in the area of timing and jitter measurement. Microstructural deterioration near the cut line and presence of residual stresses both affect the magnetic properties of cut parts. In this paper, the differences between microstructural deterioration resulting from mechanical and laser cutting as well as the sample size effects observed upon hysteresis will be discussed. It will be shown that the underlying mechanism for changes in magnetic properties due to mechanical cutting is distinct from that of laser cutting.   相似文献

IntroductionThe purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics and the outcome of bicycle injuries in paediatric patients according to the living environment, and to create guidelines for injury prevention.PatientsThe evaluation was performed in part based on hospital database of 1803 in- and out-patient children treated at the Paediatric Surgical Department of Pécs/Hungary between 2000 and 2006, and at the Department of Paediatric Surgery at the Heim Pal Hospital Budapest between 2004 and 2006. Additionally questionnaires were mailed to the patients’ families to gain follow-up information. We analysed three groups according to demographic density (village, midsize town and large town).ResultsWe found, that poor road quality played an important role as a contributing factor of injuries in villages. The number of bicycle spoke-injuries was higher in villages (13%), than in midsize towns (4.6%) and the large town (9.9%). In villages, 5% of children injured wore a helmet; this rate was 9% in midsize towns and 9.1% in the large town. Head injury was more common in villages, while in midsize towns and the large town arm injuries proved to be predominant.DiscussionPrevention strategies targeting bicycle injuries in children should take into account the population density. This analysis revealed a substantial difference in the use of safety devices, and in the characteristics of injuries occurring in villages, indicating that there is a need for special attention regarding this higher risk population.  相似文献

Enhancement of toughness is currently a critical engineering issue in tungsten metallurgy. The inherent toughness of tungsten single crystals is closely related to the capacity for local plastic slip. In this study we have investigated the plastic behavior of tungsten single crystals by means of micro-indentation experiments performed on specimens exposing (100), (110), and (111) surfaces. In parallel, FEM simulations were carried out with the Peirce–Asaro–Needleman crystal plasticity model considering both {110} 〈111〉 and {112} 〈111〉 slip systems. Plastic material parameters were identified by comparing the measured and predicted load–displacement curves as well as pile-up profiles. It is found that both measured and simulated plastic pile-up patterns on the indented surfaces exhibit significant anisotropy and orientation dependence, although the measured and simulated load–displacement curves manifest no such orientation dependence. The height and extension of pile-ups differ strongly as a function of surface orientation. The FEM simulations are able to reproduce the observed features of spherical indentation both qualitatively and quantitatively.  相似文献

Human observers use the information offered by various visual cues when evaluating the glossiness of a surface. Several studies have demonstrated the effect of each single cue to glossiness, but little has been reported on how multiple cues are integrated for the perception of surface gloss. This paper reports on a psychophysical study with real stimuli that are different regarding multiple visual gloss criteria. Four samples were presented to 15 observers under different conditions of illumination in a light booth, resulting in a series of 16 stimuli. Through pairwise comparisons, an overall gloss scale was derived, from which it could be concluded that both differences in the distinctness of the reflected image and differences in luminance affect gloss perception. However, an investigation of the observers' strategy to evaluate gloss indicated a dichotomy among observers. One group of observers used the distinctness-of-image as a principal cue to glossiness, while the second group evaluated gloss primarily from differences in luminance of both the specular highlight and the diffuse background. It could therefore be questioned whether surface gloss can be characterized with one single quantity, or that a set of quantities is necessary to describe the gloss differences between objects.  相似文献

Dioscorea spp. tubers are known commonly as camote de cerro to the state of Jalisco, México. Besides its use as food, it contains diosgenin, a raw material used widely for synthesising steroid hormones. The purpose of the present research was to determine diosgenin contents by gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS), as well as physical and chemical characteristics of sixty Dioscorea spp. accessions cultivated in mesh shade coming from eleven localities in the state of Jalisco. Extraction protocol for diosgenin was maceration combined with ethanol 80%. Significant statistical differences for diosgenin content were found between accessions, finding levels between 0.02 and 0.16 mg kg?1 in dry basis. Length, weight tuber, proportion pulp/skin, percentage of pulp and percentage of skin showed significant differences. Chemical composition based in fresh weight presented in moisture percentage a range of 71.93–83.26%, crude protein 1.42–1.74%, ashes 0.80–1.16%, lipid 0.13–0.17%, crude fibre 3.80–4.02% and total carbohydrates 13.97–25.44%. Results show that tubers from Jalisco can be an important source of nutrients for consumers.  相似文献

Phenolic compounds are partly responsible for the color, astringency, and bitterness of wine, as well as for numerous physiological properties associated with wine consumption. Mass spectrometry has allowed for great progress in the identification and characterization of wine polyphenols. The aim of the present article is to summarize the numerous advances recently achieved in this field. The main type of phenolic compounds found in wine, including hydroxybenzoic and hydroxycinnamic acids, stilbenes, flavones, flavonols, flavanonols, flavanols, and anthocyanins, are firstly described. Chemical reactions and mechanisms involving phenolic compounds during winemaking are also extensively discussed, including enzymatic and chemical oxidation reactions, direct and acetaldehyde-mediated anthocyanin-tannin condensation reactions, acetaldehydemediated and glyoxylic acid-mediated tannin-tannin condensation reactions and, C-4/C-5 anthocyanin cycloaddition reactions with 4-vinylphenols, vinylflavanols and pyruvic acid, among others, leading to the formation of pyranoanthocyanins. Useful mass spectral data of well-known and novel phenolic compounds recently identified in wine, and details related to their fragmentation pathway according to different ionization techniques, are given.  相似文献

The reduction of the content of sodium chloride in dry-cured ham was studied in to prevent the problems related to high sodium intake (i.e. the hypertension). One of the possibilities to reduce the sodium content is the partial replacement of sodium chloride by mixtures of potassium, magnesium and calcium chloride salts. The effect of two salting formulations (formulation II: 50% NaCl-50% KCl and formulation III: 55% NaCl, 25% KCl, 15 CaCl2 and 5 MgCl2) on the protease activity through the dry-curing process and on the sensory characteristics of the final product was evaluated and compared to those of control hams (formulation I, 100% NaCl). Sensory attributes were all affected in the hams containing CaCl2 and MgCl2 while hams containing 50% KCl and NaCl (formulation II) were better valued, except for the attribute taste probably due to the potassium contribution to bitter taste.  相似文献
