This paper presents a novel model for the removal of semi-transparent blotches on the digitized copy of sepia archive photographs. As these defects cannot be successfully eliminated by conventional interpolation methods, a proper combination of a novel visual distortion and multiresolution analysis is used for performing user-independent detection and restoration. A new class of biodegradable crosslinked hydrogel, consisting of hydrophobic polylactic acid (PLA) and hydrophilic dextrin in presence of crosslinker N,N‐methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) has been synthesized by free‐radical polymerization technique using potassium persulfate (KPS) as initiator. By variation of crosslinker concentration, a series of hydrogels have been prepared and the optimized grade has been selected on the basis of higher crosslinking efficiency as well as lower equilibrium swelling characteristics, XRD analysis. The hydrogels have been characterized by FTIR spectra, 13C‐NMR spectra, CHN analysis, SEM analysis, swelling characteristics, and toxicity study. In vitro release study of model drugs (ciprofloxacin and ornidazole) from hydrogel matrix has been performed in various buffer solutions at 37°C. The drug release kinetics and mechanism have been studied using zero order, first‐order kinetic models, Korsemeyar–Peppas model, Higuchi model, Hixson–Crowell model, and nonlinear Kopcha model. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The viscosity scale is established by step up method, in which several master viscometers and standard liquids are used. Starting point is the distilled water. The basic measurand is the efflux time. Uncertainty in the determination of viscometer constant of a viscometer or the kinematic viscosity of standard liquid at a particular step is carried forward for subsequent steps. The expressions for uncertainty for viscometer constant of the viscometer and kinematic viscosity of the liquid in nth step have been derived. Supercritical carbon dioxide–assisted synthesis of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)–ferrite nanocomposites was carried out by polymerization reaction of N-isopropyl acrylamide monomer in the presence of ferrite nanoparticles. They were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry analysis. Drug loading and release profiles were studied. Nanomaterials showed pH-dependent drug release profile. Polymer nanocomposites in comparison to ferrite nanoparticles showed impressive drug release activity, with a release percent of 20.98–76.54%, and greater biocompatibility in breast cancer cells, with a cell viability of 81–93%. Software Product Lines (SPL) are difficult to validate due to combinatorics induced by variability, which in turn leads to combinatorial explosion of the number of derivable products. Exhaustive testing in such a large products space is hardly feasible. Hence, one possible option is to test SPLs by generating test configurations that cover all possible t feature interactions (t-wise). It dramatically reduces the number of test products while ensuring reasonable SPL coverage. In this paper, we report our experience on applying t-wise techniques for SPL with two independent toolsets developed by the authors. One focuses on generality and splits the generation problem according to strategies. The other emphasizes providing efficient generation. To evaluate the respective merits of the approaches, measures such as the number of generated test configurations and the similarity between them are provided. By applying these measures, we were able to derive useful insights for pairwise and t-wise testing of product lines. 相似文献

The quantum Fisher information for a two-mode, Gaussian product state in an interferometer subject to photon loss is studied.
